same thing I posted... glad we're out there... [I'm not sure I can relate to a person clicking thumbs down to children performing in public, bringing a little light into the lives of strangers. Oh well, does anyone realize what it takes to make a New Yorker stand still for 5 minutes?]
Being from the NY Metro are and having worked in NYC for many years, one thing that is prevalent are street performers of all kinds. Musicians are most popular. So, it's nothing new. Many of the players are just so talented. Tell ya what...I used to make sure I'd get to certain parks just to listen in during lunch..
@Вий Кащеев No need to be nasty. Not everyone has the gumption to be the first one out there in a situation like this. And who says these are professionals who do this for a living? A lot of these performers are children, likely students, not regular performers. Performing in a concert is one thing; performing in a space where the performance is unexpected is something totally different. The reaction of the passersby could have been very negative, so yes, it *does* take a certain amount of bravery.
"any" ? Yes, but not until after the applause -- and you know there's still somebody checking in on RUclips looking at the comments. As they feel the love they become more confident more emboldened more daring and more motivated to strive.

I saw this originally 6 years ago and fell in love with it. I, too, was in a chamber music youth orchestra 65 years ago in my home town. I can’t tell you how it changed my life and in the ways it changed me forever. For twenty more years I was always in some orchestral or choral group-and being involved in group musical activity taught me about the needs of the group being more important than the needs of one and eventually led to me becoming a scholar of the U.S.Constitution in my retirement. In the intervening years I had a wonderful nursing career that was, in itself, so fulfilling. I can look back and be happy with most of my life-not perfect. . .maybe a marriage or two that could have been eliminated-got a wonderful daughter out of it-and I think that my lifelong satisfaction with the ups and downs of my life began with my chamber music experiences-weird, I know, but indescribable in allotted space.🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️👍👍👍
I admire it particularly that they play something so difficult without scores in front of them, everything by heart! Stunning and beautiful! Like the man said its amazing!!❤.To think that I listened to it here in South Africa!!😮
THIS is why music and athletic programs MUST be included in every academic program. This is Dedication and Hard Work = Accomplishment and Self Respect on display. These activities have always been a very positive influence, and always well received by the public. * NOTE: Over the last 15 years+ these music and athletics oriented activities have proven beneficial, nay necessary, when used in a specific form, as a 'therapy' that garners excellent results when treating various developmental disorders like autism. I miss my days in orchestra and marching band.
3 great things I've noticed with this video .... the talent of these children & they are all different nationalities which makes the United States even greater, oh -- and they're playing great music
First off, thank you, CMC for giving this delightful piece to the public to hear. Next, I wonder, how could ANYONE give this a thumbs down? I understand classical music is not everyone's taste, just like "pop" and "hip-hop" aren't mine, but look at all the hard work that went into this. Music is difficult enough as it is, and the strings are some of the hardest instruments to play and sound great!!! These performers were EXCELLENT!!!
I have always liked classical music and other kinds, too. My mom had a "Carmen" album and I listened to it enough that I would recognise a lot of the music, even now. But recently I heard a duet that captivated me and I heard a portion of it on an older TV series and went looking for the name of the music and who was singing. It was: Jussi Björling & Robert Merrill / Pearl Fishers Duet Aug 1, 2007. Hearing this for the first time floored me. So not all who listen to pop or rock or such thumb their noses up at classical, not even opera. 🙂
god is a myth; the Bible a creative-fiction book (hence the talking trees & talking animals) P.S - how millions of kids die to starvation and disease each year?
The Bach was stunning but when they started playing Palladio by Karl Jenkins I cried. What a talent bunch these youngsters are, they deserve to go far.
Those children are so talented! Lovely to see them doing music with so many schools removing arts and music programs. Kids need to find themselves in the arts!
Don't know about the rest of you, but this made my heart soar. It must have been awesome in person. Thanks to each one of you for the lovely Christmas gift.
I would sooner entrust my future to these young people than anyone else. They have a dedication so seldom seen in this world that makes me trust them. The hours practicing, the skills they learn and earn, the old music they play for anyone for nothing. Of course, they play the music that pleases them! Why not, as they are playing the music they love. Flash mobs like this, how can anyone protest what and how they do this?

Fortunate bystanders! I was fortunate enough to be enjoying lunch on the sidewalk many years ago when a string quartet set up next to my table to practice and busk at the same time. Brandenberg concerto number two has held a special place in my heart ever since.
I think classical music played in public is what it was designed for. The ensemble was amazing with really talented kids embracing old but everlasting music. I think most people have this visceral appreciation for classic music. While that may not be their preference, they are drawn to that basic acknowledgement of music roots.
That was brilliant... Absolutely fabulous. "...large violin..." LOL The 'large' violins were great, so were the little ones. The young musicians were so impressive

Truly heartwarming and wonderful to watch this. These young musicians gives me hope that not all is lost. May they live long happy and blessed lives for the joy that they brought to those who watch this.
I absolutely love the music and the fact that young children are able to play these instruments and not be sitting in front of a video game or getting in trouble they are doing something that they truly enjoy and that's making beautiful music

Keep the music/bands/orchestras in schools. That is where this kind of music blooms.
