I think Eastenders made a huge mistake with Stevens character, but I think it was cruel what he put Ian through. The only thing I think was a good thing that came out of it is Steven finally learnt how much Ian actually cared for him making him feel more guilty, it just took Ian to think he was dying. I totally think Steven should never of done this, but the writers brought him back change then just brought back the old Steven when he could have been so much more then just a liar and attention seeker. I have to say Aaron plays the character well despite the horrific and cruel storyline.

He used to send poison pen letters to Sharon and other people in the square before leaving, then when he came back the first time, he kidnapped Ian and held him hostage for ages, shot Jane (causing her to have a hysterectomy), talked Lucy into running away and scaring Ian shitless then trying to kill his Nana Pat before running away again. Oh, did I mention, that he also accused Christian of touching him up because he was confused about his sexuality. The guy was a nutjob!
