I'm from Uttarakhand and I've seen many nepali guys around me since my childhood...many classmates of mine used to call me nepali because I have short eyes and kinda look like nepali too...back then I used to get irritated by it...but now when j get to know the nepali culture and the Indian nepalis I just love Nepal and their people ( I didn't know that many nepalis live in India mainly in north east and are actually Indians) And now when someone does call me nepali it does not sound an insult to me but instead I feel happy about it. In Nepal ,we are mixed ,we have people with mongolic features and also with aryan features(just like north indian）.In Nepal we live happily with each other and there is sense if acceptance for all ,although we might have some little conflicts .My se.se is the society in Uttarakhanda night be similar with people of both phenotypes .Kumaoni ,Garwali and modern Nepali are pahadi languages and lots of common.Anyway,Nepali itself is not so different from any other north indian languages.Having lived in China for a long time,I always found the Chinese identify Nepalis and Indians as same people .My realization was we are basically same people .Lots of love .

Usually people of India have very wrong interpretations about nepali people and Indian entertainment is somewhere in fault for this because in most of the movies they portrait nepali people as security guards or someone whose appearance is not that attractive and people believe what they see …. Though every nepali people doesn’t have smalll eyes but I think it’s better to have small eyes than small brain :)
True tho like pahadis and madhesis comprise of a majority of Nepal's population, and both of those ppl groups look similar to North Indians. Paharis look similar to Punjabis/Harayanvis, Uttarakhandis, Himachalis etc. and madhesis look similar to Bihar/UP. But a madhesi can look like Nepali Pahadi and vice versa. Newars n Tharus being a mixed Indo-Aryan sino-tibetan ppl group can kinda look similar to other mixed East Eurasian south Asian people groups like Santhals, Bengalis n Assamese. All 5 of these people groups r diverse as in their looks, from looking similar to Indian to South East Asian. Nishahmedd is a Bengali but looks Newari. Magars, gurungs, Rais n stuff kinda look similar to Chinese but they're only a minority of the population. But yeah the representation of Nepalis to Indians honestly needs to be better. The 3 main prime ministers of Nepal Deuba, Oli and Prachanda don't look Chinese at all. They kinda represent what typical Nepali hajurbuwas look like ngl. From this incorrect view on Nepalis I feel like Indians try to exclude Nepal out of South Asia and group it more into East Asia, despite Nepal being Hindu, south Asian as hell, and the most similar country to India out of all countries in the world.
I've also been told that a difference between Indian pahadis and Nepali pahadis is that Nepali Pahadi lineage is a mix from NW India and Bihar/UP, which make sense why some pahadis look madhesi and why Nepali pahadis aren't as lightskin as Indian pahadis
Honestly your right but given the fact that people can have different kind of perception with the environment they grew up with towards the other countries and it's understandable as your not from there. I think people should except and understand and be open-minded by the fact that people from different countries can have different kind of opinion and views. Paharis look similar to Punjabis/Harayanvis, Uttarakhandis, Himachalis etc. and madhesis look similar to Bihar/UP. But a madhesi can look like Nepali Pahadi and vice versa.
Newars n Tharus being a mixed Indo-Aryan sino-tibetan ppl group can kinda look similar to other mixed East Eurasian south Asian people groups like Santhals, Bengalis n Assamese. All 5 of these people groups r diverse as in their looks, from looking similar to Indian to South East Asian. Nishahmedd is a Bengali but looks Newari.
Magars, gurungs, Rais n stuff kinda look similar to Chinese but they're only a minority of the population.
But yeah the representation of Nepalis to Indians honestly needs to be better. The 3 main prime ministers of Nepal Deuba, Oli and Prachanda don't look Chinese at all. They kinda represent what typical Nepali hajurbuwas look like ngl. From this incorrect view on Nepalis I feel like Indians try to exclude Nepal out of South Asia and group it more into East Asia, despite Nepal being Hindu, south Asian as hell, and the most similar country to India out of all countries in the world.
I've also been told that a difference between Indian pahadis and Nepali pahadis is that Nepali Pahadi lineage is a mix from NW India and Bihar/UP, which make sense why some pahadis look madhesi and why Nepali pahadis aren't as lightskin as Indian pahadis
Honestly your right but given the fact that people can have different kind of perception with the environment they grew up with towards the other countries and it's understandable as your not from there. I think people should except and understand and be open-minded by the fact that people from different countries can have different kind of opinion and views. It's up to the people to educate them if their wrong about the things they've said about your country instead of being offended which is understandable but still and commenting sarcastically or fighting over this is useless( not talking about you but the people who did this) also we should learn and explore more and educate each other. Isn't this a great way to deal with all those?
