Rebbe Nachman teaches that the main "weapon" of Mashiach-and of every Jew - is prayer. Every tefilah (prayer), every bracha (blessing), every whispered thanks, every Psalm and every hitbodedut (private, secluded prayer in one's own words) brings the geulah (Redemption) that much nearer.
The intrinsic power of sincere and heartfelt prayer is beyond our comprehension. One of Rebbe Nachman's greatest legacies to us is his teachings on hitbodedut in addition to formal prayer.
What is hitbodedut? Secluded meditation with G-d. During hitbodedut, we speak to G-d, ask Him for whatever we need, confess our wrong-doings and thank Him for all the good that He has done for us.
Praiseworthy is the one who accustoms himself to this practice.

Even though I prayed since I was a child, the experience of Hidbodedut is like learning to pray all over again, a new experience, a new me..I finally went out from my room to nature and back and my relation with Hashem is totally different now..I have found my own level of Truth at each step..

Just go to the field or my private room where I won’t be disturbed daily , even if I don’t have anything to say. The words will be waiting for me there. 60 minutes is ideal but each person at their level and according to their circumstances.

Hard to beleive that Breslevers are not following the advice of one hour of hitbodedut a day, however, it is the impression I get when I see Breslevers around.

Do the 6 hours have to be 6 hours in a row?
Can it be 1 hr before dawn, 3 hours during day, and 2 hrs at night?
Or is 6 hours straight more effective?
