    My dad passed away a few months ago. He was 97 and his favorite clothes are too well worn to donate. I'm going to make totes for myself and the grandkids.
    I'll use his colorful shirts for the lining.
    We can use the totes for beach towels, toys and sunglasses, etc.
    Thank you! I'm an experienced seamstress, but I really enjoy watching your tutorials. You have a very beautiful voice and your instructions are clear and concise. Thanks again for your tutorials.

    Reviewing my crafters for more jean bag ideas. I forgot how clear yet detailed your instructions are! I have so much stuff because locals in our small retirement town keep giving me things, I need to make fast bags! I made wine bottle bags similar to this pattern! But the sewing directions complicated with the lining. I somehow sewed the lining and outside sort of sideways tother on one. I like this method to sew the other side of handle.

      @@NotchesSewing thank you so much for the link and for the tip. I have sewn jackets with the bagged lining technique (30 years ago) but never attempt to sew the sleeveless top because I couldn't figure it out. You are a genius! thank you so much! Deb

    I have a pair of jeans that broke in the crotch area I want to make into soemthing but half the tutorials online use that section of the jeans. This is a great tutorial though I currently don’t have a sewing machine and will attempt to handstitch

    Hi. I have a bunch of denim to upcycle. Great video. Looking forward to trying this! Do you use a special needle and thread for sewing denim? Thank you!

    • @NotchesSewing
      @NotchesSewing  8 дней назад +1

      I just used a regular needle and thread for this project. If you want to do heavy decorative topstitching, you’ll need Jean needle and thread.

    I love this video your instructions are so helpful!!❤ I made a bag following your tutorial a few days ago and it turned out so cute!! I am making another one but really cannot get passed the second strap part. Every time I pull through the end is all twisted where the straps meet. The frustrating thing is that I was able to do it for the other bag, I keep going back to make sure I'm following right and I have. 😭Any other methods I could use? Thank you!!!!

    • @NotchesSewing
      @NotchesSewing  5 месяцев назад

      Go into the settings of the video and set to a slower playback speed at the strap part and watch again. You need to go in and grab so that the right sides of fabric are together . Trust me it is the nicest method.

    I have lots of old jeans, these would make great shopping bags, your directions are very clear and easy to follow. I might have missed it but how much of the lining fabric do you need? thanks for a great pattern

    • @NotchesSewing
      @NotchesSewing  Год назад +2

      You are so welcome! Used same length of lining as the bag (27.5”) and also a piece for the lining. ( this can be a different fabric or even use the pockets from the back of the jeans)
