ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response it is described as a pleasurable tingling sensation that can be felt most commonly in the back of the scalp and down the spine but not limited to these area's.
I try to describe ASMR experience to people using something common like visiting a hairdresser, do you find the experience of someone focusing on you, the gentle touching of your hair, the sound of the scissors moving around you relaxing?
That would be a relaxing experience, watching ASMR video is like recreating that type of experience.
I believe most people can experience ASMR, to experience ASMR you need to find you trigger, common triggers will often be related to one person focusing on you or another person and watching this person focus or give them attention will trigger it.

Almost anything can be a "trigger' for a persons ASMR everybody is different, you just have to find yours.

The blue lighting is just magical. For me at the very least, it sets such a relaxing tone because blue is a relaxing, comforting color to me.

The bit where the thermojet container was in front of the camera, especially when you ran the stick around the outside of the lid, tingling tingles!
I remember when I was younger that I used to think so much about how he recorded these videos with the edges. I was around 11-12 years old and I would spend so much time wondering about his setup
For 15 sec the tingles got so strong it was like I was paralysed, like that feeling where u laugh so hard u can't breathe, that kind of paralysed

You are so right about how we take sound for granted. One way to reinforce this is to watch some of the videos about people , especially children, who have received cochlear implants and their reactions to being able to hear - many for the 1st time:)

the white object you used at the end of the video was surprisingly soothing despite the sound being very subtle.
One of my all time favorite ASMR videos. I keep on coming back to this one. The sounds you achieve with your collection of objects is incredible - especially the wooden blocks and the lens cover. Just amazing stuff. Just curious, have you done any Foley work for films? Would love to hear another one of these sessions with a collection of various textures. Those at 23.37 are a Masterpiece of cadence, of sound rhythm and complexity of alternating sequences. Those movements are just amasing inner ear joy!!!!the fablef ""eargasm""! :) The massaging aspect of the sound is supreme for me at that point in the vid!!!
