For those who don't want to screw/bolt anchors to the wood floor, Karavan sells a Tie Down kit for their 5" frame trailers (incl. D-rings with 1/2 x 6 inch bolts) that fits in those plastic capped frame holes on both sides of the trailer. Sold at TSC or cheaper if you shop online somewhere else. My 2021 Karavan 5x8 has four predrilled holes on each side with plastic caps on top, but my trailers has 3" frame. So I bought 4-pack of V-ring bolt on anchors and will get some bolts at Lowe's [for the pre-drilled frame holes].

I have enjoyed making modifications to my 5.5 x 9 Karavan trailer. I put a wheel on the lift jack. Had to raise it by 1-1/4” for the wheel to clear small incline ledge. Easy. New bolts and spacers Bolts screw right into the triangular fork frame. Added hold downs. Drilled 1’ into floor boards and installed them flush mount. Didn’t need to (or want to) drill all the way through the boards. Also installed them spanning two floor boards instead of in just one. Stronger, I think. Installed a Karavan spare tire holder that holds the spare under the front triangular fork. Out of the way. Installed a handle in the center of the top of the tailgate so I don’t have to dig it out of the dirt to put it back up after loading something. Installed a small tool box on top of the fork (I didn’t think I needed a big trailer box.) I keep some ratchet straps, rope and a lug wrench in it. And last, I hid an Apple AirTag on it. If it goes missing, I will get it back! I love this trailer!
I have a Karavan 5x10 and I absolutely love it as well. Looking to upgrade to this 5.5 wide version with the dovetail specifically to haul my 61" zero turn. Nice video!
I wanted to ask if 2x4s (two by fours) used for supports and side walls, etc for a trailer or camper build, -> Are they strong enough to have a home built trailer or camper be safe if its being pulled at freeway speeds?
I have this same trailer. The only thing i cannot seem to figure out is why it squeaks so damn bad. I greased both wheels and still it creaks and sqwaks like crazy. Any ideas why?
Just used mine to haul 60 rolls of sod yesterday and I noticed it creaking,but figured it was maxed out on weight. Id guess theres something around or attached to the axel that need grease
@addismultitasking3504 hmm ok ill check it out. It's particularly bad when I'm backing up. I use it for my lawnmower for laen care. The mower is totaled at about 1000 lb and the weight is over 2100 for trailer. I don't get it lol. It's less than a year old and it started Doing it less than a few months if having it.

if you bring those boards much farther forward you wont be able to turn your truck without hitting your bumper
