All the way in Naikuru, Waigumo pens down a suicidal letter to Sam Kinuthia, the man who leaves her battling insomnia smitten by love. Waigumo was threatening to take a full dose of a rats poison, her pious born again parents had sworn Waigumo can never marry a crook like Kinuthia who sings hymns they despised, they wanted a man for her who would hymn like King Solomon.
Waigumo further justified her suicidal thoughts informing Kinuthia that already the bridegroom was sought for her, a pastors son and we suppose he is the one Sam gives an outline in his other hit ‘Reke Hetuke Na Mundu’…Kanda ino twakora makiaria nayo, injiraga ni muriu wa muhunjia, nikio urona iri na bible ithano na tai ndaihu kuri mukwa wa ngu.
If the song ‘Reke Hetuke Na Mundu’ was some sought of a sequel to ‘Waigumo’, we learn how Waigumo’s parents thwarted Kinuthia’s love expenditions at Waigumo’s home…Baba wao aranguthire na bible, aranjita ibilisi pepo baya, mami wao arangutha na ndarama ndi githaku-ini ngiuga ABCD….
Sam prefers Waigumo married to the saint than seeing her dead, afterall he will still be taking her out!
