What a dark yet soulful version of this track! Bravo! Journey To Silius has one of the greatest soundtracks ever made for an NES game. It’s also no surprise as Sunsoft made the game as well as Batman and Batman Return of Joker which also had great soundtracks. But there’s something really powerful about this particular track. Themes of Isolation, being trapped and trying to escape are what this track conveys to me. Which kinda goes along with the vibe of the game.

I remember getting this game from Sears when I was a kid and the music blew me away. Great cover! Fun fact this game cartridge had a additional hardware in it developed by Sunsoft in order to add an extra sound channel that the NES could use. That's why it had that extra phat bass in it!

I use to play this game and get to the second stage, then stop. Go do homework or clean my bedroom lol... Seems silly now, but to think that someone across the world found beauty in it and not only replayed it but damn near remade it into something else so much more beautiful than what is was is an astounding thing. What an interestingly darker take on this classical piece. Compare it with the Banjo Guy Ollie's bluegrass version (also excellent) to see, how one piece can inspire multiple artists to approach it from completely different angles. Brilliant!

The game actually uses a standard Nintendo MMC3B chip for memory management. The bass is actually playing on the built-in sample channel!

Both genders play video games now a lot. But back in 1990 when that game came out.. only boys were playing it. I don't think you ladies really got into it until 20 years ago.
I make that comment because I think its so damn amazing to hear this from a woman because only a very rare amount of you played video games back then.

Haha, who said I’ve played the games? 😏 The majority of the time I haven't played the games. I play the piano, not games. 😆 I just enjoy the music. Retro-game music is fantastic because it's actual music that has a musical narrative. It simply works and I enjoy it. 🔥
