    Audio is still a little quiet; however, the levels are very consistent and the voiceovers are informative. Good content. My ear drums are thankful.

    Have a few tech questions if you don't mind giving me the time. Im from South Africa so toys are rare and expensive here. Would love to pick your brain with regards to a NA 5S/3S Dual beams project. Thanks!

    Im assuming the standard beams cams? I didnt here anything about changing them. Looking forward to watching the rest of these

    • @hawes_power5590
      @hawes_power5590  Год назад +1

      yes standard beams cams, infact im using the smaller auto cams opposed to the bigger manual ones. they are fairly aggressive for a factory cam, should give it a broad powerband.

    have you thought about doing a fire ring head gasket? back in the day when the celica was in wrc they used a fire ring head gasket.

    • @hawes_power5590
      @hawes_power5590  Год назад

      I don't expect that it will be needed. On my last 3sgte engine, I never blew a HG in 5 years using the factory gasket and arp 11mm studs. I intend on running similar boost/cylinder pressure as that engine. Will see how it goes. HKS stopper gaskets are also a good option.

    Thanks for posting,
    What's the compression ratio and fuel you intend to run?
    Stroke is 91mm? And what's the max rpm your thinking?

    • @hawes_power5590
      @hawes_power5590  Год назад +1

      CR is 9.5, it will be tuned with flex fuel but will usually run E85. Yes, stroke is 91mm, probably 7500, maybe 8000. It won't have a big turbo so will likely run out of puff up top anyway

    • @timonthornley8344
      @timonthornley8344 Год назад +1

      @@hawes_power5590 any special work to allow 8000rpm on 91mm stroke?

    • @hawes_power5590
      @hawes_power5590  Год назад

      @@timonthornley8344 I would expect the mechanical components to easily handle 9000rpm, this is all an experiment for me so we'll see

      @@hawes_power5590 And you think the profile of the Auto cams will ultimately be suitable for a turbo application? Or Realistically it will end in custom cams?

    Hi,
    So you used the maxpeeingrods 3sgte rods, and had the crank machined?

    • @hawes_power5590
      @hawes_power5590  Год назад +1

      no, i used the Maxspeeding 5S rods and left the crank alone
