I just learned about the diamond collectors edition while watching this video after preordering my super deluxe version with season pass and can say I’m still satisfied with what I ordered, I’m a hardcore borderlands fan but idk if I can justify spending as much as I did on my system
I see a lot of hate and misinformation spreading around about microtransactions and the like. So here is my two cents on the matter. 1. The "Microtransactions" of BL3 are the same from 2, heads and skins with no actual effect on game play. If you really have an issue with it, don't buy them, no one is really losing or gaining anything from these things. 2. A Microtransaction by definition is "a very small financial transaction conducted online". So even DLC and anything else you buy online for cheap can be considered a microtransaction. Microtransactions aren't the problem, it's the companies that use them in terrible ways. 3. A Microtransaction for cosmetics is fine, one to speed up the gain of something you could otherwise get in game is fine (Warframe does this very well in my opinion), hell even a Microtransaction for a mid to low tier weapon is fine (looking at KH3 where it's kinda different keyblades but none are really top tier). What is poor use of Microtransactions is this; Top tier weapons or gear which drastically help in game (Looking at quite a few fps games), DLC that unlocks the true ending to a game (Dragon Age: Inquisition... I'm a bit salty about this), or ones that make you pay to even progress through the basic story. (Quiet a few phone games do this, some mmo' I hear picked up on this) The thing is Microtransactions should be a way to support the game developers and creators and not actually impact the game play in a way where those that don't pay suffer. One of the games I play I think does this best is Warframe, it's a free to play game where anything game play wise you can unlock yourself through playing it, cosmetics cost the special currency known as platinum you buy with money, but the best part is you can trade platinum, so even if you can't put money into the game you can trade rare items you can get with other players for platinum. Thus even those who can't pay money can still work towards cosmetics and other items.
Warframe has a great way of unlocking things with daily and weekly quests, little challenges and more. This system is pretty much satisfying, since you deserve what you unlock, its a reward. I wished it could be the same in every video games
One vital piece of info that is missing from this video is that BL3 will have TWO player split screen. This is a change from the second game and should be more predominantly explained I think as many people are getting their hopes up to have BL3 parties...
the $250 dollar diamond loot chest edition was sold out in about 4ish hours after they posted it. i missed it by a hair and its a shame they didnt resupply this version.

Enough people are not talking about this. I'm formerly a Borderlands mega fan, but after the way Take-Two and Gearbox have conducted themselves in the past month I'm done with their games. Its actually moronic the way they've communicated with their consumers.
The only thing I needed to know is how they treat their biggest fans. What they did to Supmatto is unforgivable . The entire bunch of them are forever in my special book of bastards with Todd Howard along with the rest of those pushing micro transactions and releasing unfinished games. In Hell they’ll be in good company.
I'm Rick Harrison, and this is my pawn shop. I work here with my son, Big Hoss. Everything in here has a story and a price. One thing I've learned after 21 years - you never know what is gonna come through that door.
Borderlands 2 had the exact same micro transactions borderlands 3 will have except borderlands 3 will just give a bit more option as to if what you can customize and not just your character
Plus tbh in borderlands 3 there's so many base game skins and such you can get, that it will be really easy to ignore the actual cosmetic microtransactions just like in BL2.
@@mezotech5419 why put them in the options? In borderlands 2 you never knew they were there u less you actually looked them up, which is how it will work in borderlands 3. So I don't think the microtransactions should be in the options menu.

Don’t like micro transactions even if they are cosmetic only. In a game like this people love to change the way their character looks and locking that behind a paywall is still bs. God I miss the old days of gaming when everything is in the game for you to get after purchase smh.
ForSiGmar89 extra credit made an episode discussing why there are things like paid dlc and loot boxes. Due to inflation and price to develop games, games should cost $120-$150 but no one would actually pay that price

I don't mind cosmetic microtransactions, I actually like them. If they allow the creator to improve the game in other ways then by all means, do. I usually prefer also being able to unlock the cosmetic items in game through other means too though 🤷♂️
Have non of you played a borderlands game before? Its the exact same as bl2,pts,and bl1. There are in game challenges and achievements that net skins and cosmetics AS WELL as having a few paid that eventually turn into harder unlocks as more DLC's come out and the game gets older. Dude they're the same cosmetic microtransactions as in borderlands 2 from 2012, you won't even know they're there. If you played borderlands 2, then you would know how it works and know they're not in your face.
@@WarmFizzyMilk I in no way proved your point, the thing is cosmetic microtransactions are nothing new to borderlands, borderlands 2 was AAA as well. There's no extra monetization happening, as there's no other MTXs period and in the base game itself there's no monetization. Go look up borderlands 2 cosmetic microtransactions and how the system works, then you will understand what I'm saying. I don't know if you played borderlands 2 or not, but 3 uses the same MTX system. The cosmetic microtransactions are not part of the base game at all, there's nothing in game you can purchase with real money and there's no store in the game itself to purchase the cosmetics. The only way you can buy a cosmetic for borderlands is go onto the xbox store or playstation store itself and literally look it up, other than that they don't exist in the game itself. As a borderlands player since 2009, I can say for fact that it's not bad at all and there's plenty enough skins in game that you honestly don't even need to buy a cosmetic MTX and later on they release them to everyone for free anyway.
With borderlands 2 I made two shortcuts on my desktop. Then I put in a command line for each to take controller 1 and 2. Then I run each program simultaneously and out them on both my my monitors. Then my buddy and I just play LAN party on one computer. We only get sound out of one window at a time but it's still awesome! I guess I'll be getting bl3 on PS4, though.
I hate microtransactions no matter about what they are since you ALREADY payed 60 $ for the fucking game. And still have to pay more to get the whole thing. The fun about cosmetics in old games what that you had to do challenges and stuff to get wich made them somewhat special and satisfying when you completed that really hard mission. Now its just this. Not only i have to wait 6 more months but now you cant even own the full game without having to pay extra.
borderlands 2 and diablo2 were the two games Im glad Ive bought. I have alot of favorites but diablo2 comes first and borderlands comes second out of the hundreds of games ive playn

StyledSnail yeah you can buy them from crazy earl as well
@@mathieuedde1465 ight thank you
I see a lot of hate and misinformation spreading around about microtransactions and the like.
(Quiet a few phone games do this, some mmo' I hear picked up on this)
The thing is Microtransactions should be a way to support the game developers and creators and not actually impact the game play in a way where those that don't pay suffer.
Borderlands 2 had purchasable character heads and skins any way, so it's kinda wierd if people are just getting angry about it now
People just like to look for things to complain about these days
maybe people are just getting tired of being nickle and dimed.
Microtransactions have become more predatory since the last one came out. It's good for people to be wary when they hear about these things.
I have been waiting for it ever since I beat borderlands 2 years ago and I was big heartbroken when I found out it was sold out
It's not worth the money dude I cancel mine and got the super Deluxe edition
Your a idiot if you pay 250 bucks on a game.
Chances are most of them sold out to people buying them to flip anyways. Give it 6 months and you will see them on ebay for cheaper then $250
I’m not buying it till it’s on steam? Probably gonna wait till it’s like £8 on sale now or through a key so they get the least amount of profit from the sale. That’s something 2K should know.

Enough people are not talking about this. I'm formerly a Borderlands mega fan, but after the way Take-Two and Gearbox have conducted themselves in the past month I'm done with their games. Its actually moronic the way they've communicated with their consumers.
Played it on the gamescom was fun enjoyed the first boss fight.
The only thing I needed to know is how they treat their biggest fans. What they did to Supmatto is unforgivable . The entire bunch of them are forever in my special book of bastards with Todd Howard along with the rest of those pushing micro transactions and releasing unfinished games. In Hell they’ll be in good company.
but did bl2 have lootbooster/exp booster?
I'm Rick Harrison, and this is my pawn shop. I work here with my son, Big Hoss. Everything in here has a story and a price. One thing I've learned after 21 years - you never know what is gonna come through that door.
Borderlands 2 had the exact same micro transactions borderlands 3 will have except borderlands 3 will just give a bit more option as to if what you can customize and not just your character
Plus tbh in borderlands 3 there's so many base game skins and such you can get, that it will be really easy to ignore the actual cosmetic microtransactions just like in BL2.
Cool, then they can put them in the options menu; you know, where the rest of the options are.
@@mezotech5419 why put them in the options? In borderlands 2 you never knew they were there u less you actually looked them up, which is how it will work in borderlands 3. So I don't think the microtransactions should be in the options menu.
Oh shit yeah I forgot about that ahaha, was legit about to complain about them being there till I read this. I guess it’s cause I am soo used to the handsome collection and having them all for free now rather than the base game. Mad
@@phoenixkai9862 You don't know where they'll be because you haven't played it. If you want to trust a company like Gearbox, headed by a person like Randy Pitchford, owned by a publisher like 2k, then that's on you. I'd sooner let Michael J. Fox shave my balls with a boxcuitter.

Ok so cosmetic only microtransactions...I’m fine with that if those cosmetics can also be found in regular gameplay. If not, then it’s blocking game content behind a paywall, cosmetic or not. Also remember other games that said microtransactions would be cosmetic only?
also exp/loot boosting relic/mod are included in deluxe edition
About 9:09 , if you buy the deluxe edition {which doesnt seem to include the season pass at all} it states among the cosmetic and weapon pack, "equipable xp & loot boost mods".
Rome It’s probably just a relic and they had the same exact thing in Borderlands 2 Handsome Collection.
So you mean exactly how bl1-bl2 and now bl3 will be? You can unlock everything by doing in game challenges but for those that dont want that grind you can buy a particular skin, head, vehicle pack etc. Instead. Just like every other bl game.
A Diamond loot "Vest" replica sounds sweet!! Love you really Jake.

I usually prefer also being able to unlock the cosmetic items in game through other means too though 🤷♂️
I agree with what you say, sounds like a fair argument
Have non of you played a borderlands game before? Its the exact same as bl2,pts,and bl1. There are in game challenges and achievements that net skins and cosmetics AS WELL as having a few paid that eventually turn into harder unlocks as more DLC's come out and the game gets older. Dude they're the same cosmetic microtransactions as in borderlands 2 from 2012, you won't even know they're there. If you played borderlands 2, then you would know how it works and know they're not in your face.
@@phoenixkai9862 not knowing they're there just proves my point.
it's a full priced AAA game with a season pass. it doesn't need EXTRA monetisation
BlastedOff Cosmetics are so easy to get in Borderlands. You don't to be mad about these.

This game looks like itll be worth the long wait
hopefully they will add two more playable characters later on just like in bl2 and tps
I am sure those will be in the add on DLC. Maybe we will get four, one per DLC pack
D S they already said that’s not a priority rather they plan to expand skills and class items instead
Yu Tub they’ve said that they won’t, however they will be adding extra skill trees on to the 4 we have
D S there aren’t any. Even if there were there would probably be 2 and they’d be their own thing, not with other dlc
how disappointing
