- On today's adventure we drive the Skyline Drive North District, one of the most scenic drives in the Country. This road takes you up the mountain, around hairpin turns and past the vertigo-inducing edges to over 3,000 feet altitude. Along the way are Scenic Overlooks like you've never seen and spectacular views and vistas of rural Virginia.
This also happens to be one of the best places in Virginia to watch the Sun set, so we stuck around all day to make sure not to miss it!
The north district takes you from the Front Royal Entrance (Front Royal, VA) to the Thornton Gap Entrance (Sperryville, VA) and is 31 of the 100+ mile drive.

One entrance is like 15 minutes from where I live and it's beautiful.
As a veteran I get the American the Beautiful pass for free! I'm gonna be driving Skyline today
My back yard. It’s perfect for motorcycle ride. Or getting out on CB radio. We use to go up every night after guard shack closed. You can almost touch the stars. They seem that close.
Western Marylander! The Appalachian mountains are beautiful! Especially in the Fall! If you enjoy riding bicycles , go to Pittsburgh and get on the Allegheny Great Passage! Ride to Cumberland MD ,then get on the C& O Canal and ride to Washunton DC ! Rude past historic Hapers Ferry WV and Antietam National Battlefield/ Civil War / Sharpsburg MD! 23,000 soldiers died in a single day at that Battlefield The bloodiest single day battle of the Civil War! 8 women ,dressed as men actually fought in that battle! 7 for the UNION , two as young as 15 years of age! A dead Confederate woman was found on the Cornfield by a Massachusetts burial party! History you probably never learned!
Those passes look super cool this year! Nice upgrade
I was so excited to use the pass at the gate, I believe I now officially got my $80 worth and its all bonus from here
@@DMVAdventures aw man hope lots more bonus to come then! please don’t skimp us on a Harpers ferry video. My poor little heart couldn’t take it
I visited this place. I quickly realized the view from each overlook was the same, and I chickened out driving up the twisty roads, so turned around after 3-4 miles.
There are a couple overlooks that are the best ones, but most of them see the exact same thing. I've never gone farther than the first hour before, so not sure what lies ahead.
Wow Amazing!!!!
Thanks for watchin!
Cool. I plan on doing the full length sometime in the next couple of. months
My legs are tired just thinking about it! Good luck!
