@@ConsiderFirstCnEHmmmm. Not sure about that. I’ve owned Polaris sleds, ATVs and SxSs. Thousands of combined miles over rocks, trails, mud, snow, water and gravel. I’ve used them for plowing, mudding, cruising trails and everything in between. I can honestly say I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve driven the Rangers up and down an old rocky mine road hundreds of times and this is northern Manitoba country I’m talking about - not some sissy boy trail - never had an issue. I’m not saying they’re perfect but I am saying a comment like yours is completely BS. They’re definitely not as bad as you say…. FACTS.

All good, but where's the longbed version like the Canam Defender Pro (which can already haul 1500lbs)? I hear that the box for the Ranger XD is "bigger" but why make an upgraded "utility" model without maxxing utility? Also, IMO, 110 HP seems low for going to a 3 cylinder with a metal belt. Polaris still left a lot on the table here.

  • @squishy1127

You guys keep saying that Polaris never had the ability to lock the front differential but not lock the rear differential at the same time. That's untrue, pre-2005 Polaris Rangers had a push-button all-wheel-drive system with a lever rear locking differential that you controlled on your own. So you can have an open rear differential with a front-end lock anytime you wanted. You can argue me on it but I used to build them.

if the patent info going around about can ams new x3 is true it appears there going with a gear on gear transmission like honda uses. polaris now has a steel belt cvt that if it works out im sure will bleed into the other models. going to be quite the decision to make in the future over a can am or polaris there starting to diverge quite a bit on designs which i like

At those prices just by a jeep. last longer, higher quality, easier to modify, higher resale value, both go down 72" routes. but one you can take to work. I know everyone complains about pricing now days and yes, they have cheaper models to buy. but at some point, aren't they pricing themselves out of the market? They can't mass produce that enough to sell it at a reasonable cost.

My understanding is it might be more accurate to say it is more so based on the 2-cylinder Prostar engine which the pro-R engine is heavily based on. So they basically are just making 2,3 and 4 cylinder variations of the Pro-star - which is cool!

In Canada a 3 seater with a cab, front and rear bumper, heater, (NO AC) and winch is $48,600. Almost $60K with tax, freight, etc. with a 6 month warranty. I can't imagine who would actually buy this for farm use over a 10 year old low mileage pickup for far less money. Maybe if it's going to double as a trail machine but come on, 60K!

This is not the only utility SXS w/15” of ground clearance stock. The CanAm Defender XMR has had 15” of stock ground clearance for years. This Polaris looks nice but for the money the want, you can buy a small truck and at the size these are becoming, I just dont understand the appeal. I hope CanAm doesn’t chase this rabbit and sticks to their Defender formula.
