mathcachaille i'm not saying any driver was at fault, but clearly riccardo was where he shouldn't have been if he was involved in multiple impacts at the same point of the track the only thing i struggled to understand was why hamilton's contact that couldn't be avoided deserved a penalty, but rosbergs aggressive sweep across didn't
I remember this as being one of Alonso's best drivers, if not for being deprived due to a faulty pit stop. His onboards were insane. Had he won this race, it would still be considered as one of the top 10 victories in all of F1. Nonetheless, it was a thrilling race, and Jenson was on his game as well!

MewKing42//MK42 Yes there were striking parallel between the two. Pretty amazing for button though to finish with his terrible Honda catching fire in the pitlane, in 08, to being a champion in the same pitlane a year later. Brawn GP were special
They completely ignored Fernando Alonso's amazing race, especially the first lap and him leading and eventually winning if he didn't have the malfuntioning wheelnut!
Gerwin - Yeah, definitely. We all know that was Jenson who won the GP, but that doesn't mean that the performance of Fernando and the Renault on that race wasn't worth a better mention. That's why we all remember this GP, basically.
The only thing i can say is that you probably didn't watch the race properly, otherwise i just can't understand that you come up with this bullshit. I don't even remember how and when Alonso overtook Raikkonen, but it doesn't matter: he was way quicker than everyone else on track, he was extending his lead before the SC caused by the RAI-LIU incident came out, like he would have lapped almost everyone else if he kept that pace. Button would never have won if that SC didn't come out, on the first place. Raikkonen wouldn't have been on pole either without all the penalties bullshit that occured that weekend... so, again, you're saying bullshit. And about the Raikkonen incident, i don't think that it was just Liuzzi's fault. You're probably a Kimi's fanboy to say such a thing. The Honda wasn't that competitive that year, but the Michelins were way superior than Bridgestone on those conditions. Which means that, apart from the Renaults, the Honda and the McLaren were the fastest cars on those conditions. This doesn't mean that Jenson didn't do an amazing performance. He is, as you say, a great driver on races like this one. I didn't deny it, you don't need to tell me something that obvious to every F1 fan. Nobody mentioned that Alonso was lucky on 2005 season because it doesn't have anything to do with what we're talking about. What does that have to do with anything that happened on this race? Apart from that, by saying that Alonso was lucky and saying, also, at the same time, that the wheelnut malfuction didn't matter because he was champion anyway, you're just proving that you are an Alonso hater, or something like that, which means it's not worth to keep listening to you anymore. You're right. Alonso is so overrated. Nobody remembers Hungary 2006 because of him. Yes, you're so right.
So you're understanding that i'm not recognizing Button's victory out of nowhere. I respect Button as a driver and I recognize him as the winner here because the wheelnut thing was after all a human mistake. So, maybe it was unfair from Alonso's point of view but to put it in some way, the Honda crew, the Honda team did a better job. So, I'm not denying that Button deserved this win, you're understanding that on your own. Dude, take a look at my words on the first place: "We all know that was Jenson who won the GP, but that doesn't mean that Alonso and Renault didn't deserve a better mention". A better mention to what we had on the video, of course. Because obviously the winner is the one who deserves more attention. But the fact is that Alonso's race was barely mentioned here, so that's why we "complained". And I'm calling you hater because of your contradictory reasoning, not because you are disagreeing with me. If Mansell was unlucky, so was Alonso here. There's no difference just because Mansell's case happened on the last race. That is where you're wrong. It's quite funny that someone who claims to be "more reasonable and realistic" than the other person didn't actually take his time to understand what the other person was saying and kept making misjugdments about it. Anyway, I admit I must have some reasoning flaws, I'm not that good at English since it's not my first (nor the second) language. But I think you gotta make a lot of misunderstanding on your own to think that I was dismissing Button's victory.
Gerwin - They ignored literally every fucking driver on the grid exept Hamilton. Once again the FOM doing an amazingly shitty job at capturing the most "important" person of the race.

But todays race (2015), with all what happened in the race, and Jos son Max Verstappen taking a sensational P4 will make this edition another favourite Hungarian GP as well. The 1997 edition also sticks in my mind forever, where Damon Hill almost took the first win for Arrows, but lost in the last lap due a technical failure.

op3l What is the video you are mentioning? If your explanation for that snap is either psychological or physical, there is something wrong with the preposition in itself. How can you scare another driver off the road if he's already ahead, as the video clearly shows? Aiming for the tyres and deliberately causing punctures is almost impossible to do without taking a serious risk of your front wing going to bits, watch the backlash from Spa 2015 with numerous drivers stating the relative impossibility of Rosberg intentionally running into Hamilton to give him a puncture. Take into account that the Bridgestones in those conditions were absolutely NOWHERE as compared to the Michelin shod cars, there simply wasn't any grip (for reference, watch the onboard of Schumacher vs Alonso, grip difference of night and day) and voila, a momentary lapse of grip loss isn't so strange all of a sudden ;)
What a joke of a race summary... Where's Fernando Alonso? He was leading the race very comfortably until Renault pit crew ruined it.
