It's affordable for those who spend money earned in western europe. For polish low-middle class is not that affordable. You need to have a job in big international company, to have a salary comparable to west europe, or you need to run your own small bussiness to be successful on Poland. Being a high qualified specialist (carpenter, plumber, electrician, welder) may be also a good choice.
Meat is very costly in Poland in. UK you will buy a cartoon of chicken 27 pounds and turkey too
