    Hello from Canada! Just saying hi from one Africa Twin owner to another. I have 3 pieces of advice that helped me a lot with riding the big girl:
    1. Practice somewhere grassy where you're comfortable dropping the bike and focus on breaking and skidding to find the limits of the bike;
    2. Especially as someone new to offroading, you need more aggressive tires...try the RallZ or the Adventure version of the MOTOZ;
    3. The giant luggage on the tail rack will throw off your balance a lot, try saddlebags that are closer to the centre of gravity.
    All of this will help with your confidence and comfort off road and that will lead to more fun! Cheers

      Thanks Dan, got rid of the GPS Tractionators and went a combo of TKC80 on the front and an EO7+ on the back. I did 6000kms on the EO7+ and recently went to the Motoz Rallz, brilliant in the dirt!

    Turn the tyres around the other way for off road. Try to relax a bit more (I know it is easy to say😁)
    Do NOT grip the bars tight. Let the bike move more until you get experience in those conditions.😁
    Stand up more often with your weight over the bars especially in the corners.
    Front tyre should be more aggressive than the rear for traction.
    Tyre pressure is critical off road too.

    Hey mate, mud glorious mud!!
    There’s a fine line between traction and fun.
    I found running a UHD tube in the front allowed me to run lower pressures with less risk of puncture.
    There’s compromises but staying up right is the priority.

    • @ADVBrett
      @ADVBrett  Год назад +1

      Cheers Steve! Certainly considering that for piece of mind! I'm looking at the combo of an Anakee Wild front and GPS Adventure for the back. With all this rain I'll probably do that sooner rather than later!! It's good to see you're back on the bike too!!! Loving that Husky of yours!!

      @@ADVBrett Finding a tyre that suits your riding style, your bike the country you ride is more important than people give credit.

      It's such a gamble isn't it, part of the fun of Adventure riding that's for sure!

      @@BigBikeAdventures hahaha wet tar is something that's been bloody hard to avoid recently!! I'm finding myself more on the dirt than the black top, I hear they're great all rounders minus wet bitumen. Probably not much difference compared to the Tractionator!

    but mud, especially clay is slippery even on knobbies... but yeah, I wouldn't use the front gps tire if I want to go off road, but rear gp with dual venture front would probably be best compromise

    • @ADVBrett
      @ADVBrett  2 месяца назад

      The combo I ended up with is the TKC80 on the front and EO7+ on the back. That EO7 wore down so I've since replaced it with a Motoz Rallz.
      Should've done this a long time ago!

    Remember when you got the ceramic coating and wanted to find some mud to really test it out? YOU FOUND IT😂. Hey you did well, I know how you feel because when I did my New Mexico trip I was in some nasty slippery mud like never seen before. So you have the GPS front and rear right? After letting some air out they were a little more compliant it sounds like. I am really considering that tire next because, like you said, they have a really good sidewall. In all it looked like a really fun ride.

    • @ADVBrett
      @ADVBrett  Год назад +1

      Hey hey!!! Yeah I'm not impressed with them at all to be honest! My OEM Karoo Streets gave me much more confidence! If you check the link for Marks channel, Throttle Riding Adventures, have a look at hid Darwin trip, he used the Anakee Wild front with Motoz Adventure on the back and not only got great traction but also got great range out of that combo.Id be doing that first!

    • @BigDaveTALKS
      @BigDaveTALKS Год назад

      @@ADVBrett Aw man that’s not good but good information. I think the Karoo is an underrated tire.
      That’s even better as I really like the Anake wild. It’s what i had on my New Mexico trip but that rear tire was pretty shot after 2,700 miles. That sounds like a great combo and i will go check the channel out for sure.

    • @ADVBrett
      @ADVBrett  Год назад +1

      @@BigDaveTALKS I'll let you know how I go when I do the same. I was also considering the new Karoo 4's so there's certainly options but I always lean towards things that have already been tested.

      @@ADVBrett Sounds good. Hey I been eyeballing the Karoo4 also but with the 1290 I seriously doubt i would get 3k miles out of it😂. I will probably just go with the Anake up front and the Motoz Adventure in the rear. I have had both and really like them. I really like the Trailmax Mission for a rear but man they give a rough ride on rocky roads. They wear great and perform quite well on all but mud.

    • @ADVBrett
