You have no idea how thankful I am for you to make this video. I own all the games on the PS3, but its a pain in the butt to repeatedly dust off the PS3 every time I want to play these games. It's so much more convenient to have these all in one PC system. Having it run perfectly on the PS2 emulator brings me joy.
Not only that but Emulators have better upscaling options and higher resolutions as well.
amazing video!
almost 2023 and still no GOW remastered i think Sony gave up on remastering the first parts
Which is a real shame, I'd love to see these stories revisited and improved wherever they can
It would be cool to see them remastered. Also if God of War 3 Remastered got a PC port i insta buy
They will never remaster those games becuase of the sexual content, they need to fill the political agenda.
How does this game and GoW2 perform for some of the more demanding parts of the game? Does framerate drop when there's lots of enemies? Also, I heard there was a problem about music not playing during cutscenes for GoW1 through PS2 emulation. Has this been fixed? I saw on the PS2 emulation wiki, it showed all the problems available for each rom.
I'm not aware that there is an issue. PCSX2 is quite mature, and the developers seem to be accelerating improvements, so by now it should be fixed. If you don't want to risk investing too much time, maybe try to emulate the PS3 version instead. There's never been any issues running it on RPCS3.
What about technical details? Any version having more or less bugs? Which version has more input lag? How framerate affects movement and enemy behaviour?
You missed all those questions and details. You can't just compare both versions visually, and call it a day. The most important info is missing!
PCSX2 has more input lag, because generally PCSX2 has more input lag than the console, RPCS3 doesn't have this problem, better coded.
Gameplay looks almost the same, but it runs with 10W vs 20W+ on steam deck, and all games take 10gb vs 50, older versions are a lot better aside from very low res cutscenes
Glad to know, came here for steam deck recomendations, thks
Hey man nice vid can you show me the settings for your pcxs2 it looks like you don't have the boxy look on ps2 or you just cropped it , anyway I'd be grateful if you could share your settings for optimal graphics.
What do you mean, "boxy look"?
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 4:3 screen ratio I think
that can be changed in the settings iirc
RPCS3 has anti aliasing which is a big upgrade
I started on rpcs3 and after completing more than half of the story i decided to leave it. the game constantly crashes with save states on rpcs3. if i spent the same amount of time on pcsx2 i probably would've finished the game twice.
doesnt really matter, you just put the PCSX2 to 4k and there no edges.
спасиба, а то я думал париться с настройками пс3 эмулятора, 10 минут назад закончил первого бога войны (проходил на эмуляторе PS2, компьютер был подключен к CRT TV) и думал, что hd collection лучше оригинала
Hey I have a problem with the game, when I have to fight king hydra and I need to press circle multiple times nothing happens, I am pressing it really fast, is it something wrong with my rom or something else?
Oh and I am using pcsx2
No the fight is just really hard
bro both are running at the same resolution? rpcs3 looks better to me!
bit better and with reshade it will look even better
PS3 version has native anti-aliasing and uncompressed textures which will make it look better even at the same resolution.
@@RegalPixelKing of course, the ps3 version is 720p native, ps2 is 480p i think
@@stevensv4864 Both are upscaled to 1440p in this video. Even when upscaling it to have the same resolution the PS3 version will look better.
@@RegalPixelKing yeah bro, i think youre repeating what i say before
Personally I prefer the rpcs3 version cuz I can play in the same aspect ratio as my monitor while in pcsx2 I can only play at 4:3 stretched
there is widescreen natively in the game settings
Look into the options my dude there is widescreen option. Also there are widescreen patch anyway.
i have rpcs3 how do i boot up the ps3 classics after install what file do i need to install?
Bruh
Bro is such a noob
I can see that rpcs3 is slightly sharper in some areas. Maybe that is due to conversion and developers updating textures. However, PCSX2 can also use high res textures if you can find them online. My personal preference is rpcs3 is most cases if the game was a good remaster. Because it has been completely overhauled at that point.
how did you run the game in 16:9 on PCSX2, is it just 4:3 but cropped?
Widescreen hack. It's bui;t into PCSX2.
Widescreen hack. It's built into PCSX2.
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 do i need to check the "enable widescreen patches" to use the hack? or is that something else because it seems to just stretch the image
@@swoop2386 You must also change the aspect ratio to 16:9.
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 it still seems to streched, do you have a tutorial on how to apply it?
Is it possible to play via rpcs3 in ryzen 5 5600G? with 60fps?? Includs dual channel ram 8x2 3200mhz
It should be fine. RPCS3 is mostly cpu limited anyway.
I know PCSX2 has accuracy issues for years or could randomly be hardware demanding.
I now have a 7900 XTX and R7 5800X3D and am still surprised things run smoothly all the way, lol.
I KEEP HEARING ITS A BETTER RENDERING BUT THE FPS NEEDS WORK.
But what about the sound quality?
Pcx2 runs absolutely fine. Just finished gow1 yesterday. Throughout the entire game I had only 2 issues- game become slow motion in 1 time so I had to exit the emulator and it worked fine after that. 2nd issue is more of the game's fault I think- in a battle the last enemy didn't spawn so the energy barrier didn't disappear. On reloading of a previous save file it worked fine
@Lalitendu Das I thought the PS3 versions would sound better since the assets are lossless, and there are more advanced audio formats on PS3.
@@Salty.Peasants haven't played using rpcs3 socan't say if there are any audio enhancements in PS3 version. Ps2 by itself sounds fine. From what I know PS3 is pretty much the same as ps2 version just slight change in color grading and general higher resolution (due to PS3's hardware). I'd be surprised if there is any substantial changes/improvements in PS3 version's audio
Why my gow slow in pcsx2 can you show your setting?
Are you using the latest nightly build?
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 im using stable 1.60 version of pcsx2 , i also tried using 1.40 stable built,
I have i5 processor with 4 cores, 2.50GHz with 2GB dedicated graphic card of nvidia geforce 820M
still my god of war is lagging and slow as hell, even when in running it in lower than 720p . What do i do man, i did a lot of research for several night i tried everything but nothing works plz help me
@@pralayaryan Don't use the stable builds. Get the latest nightly build here: pcsx2.net/downloads/
Scroll down to get to the Nightly builds. The latest version is always right at the top of the "Nightly" column. Also, you'll get a choice between AVX2 and SSE4. Choose the AVX2 - QT build, which will offer the best performance.
Once that's done, use the Vulkan graphics API. This will boost your performance even more and give better stability.
All other things being equal the correct choice becomes an ethical choice. I think the ethical choice is to run the game via the emulator that uses the least energy to achieve the desired result. Same goes for cross platform games that have slightly broken PC versions. Invest the time in looking for fixes because you'll use less energy running the pc port than you will if you emulate it instead. We should all be conserving energy, whether our local electricity supply is expensive or not.
um no
@@SPG8989 What a wonderful argument you make!
Huh? Not everyone has coal based electricity. My city runs 100% on hydro and it's clean, at least all the damage it does to the ecosystem was done decades ago.
@@zuubu Good for you. You're in the minority. Globally the renewable generation is around 30%. If you're in the US it's around 20%.
@@zuubu fr, it's so good not living in 19th century countries that still rely on burning coal to produce energy
rpcs3 wins,,already play and uploaded gameplay on my channel
PS3 is better
Se fue no se
Looks like its whatever.
Rpcs3 this looser in 2022,pcsx2 win
