cheers guys, I think a great follow up to a video like this is a look at the music of the time, something like carti's die lit, 21 savage issa, xxx ?, or something similar even though not all of these are necessarily mumble rap. The ? album would probably offer the most content for dad, but all of these are definitely very different from what y'all have already covered
I never got the hate this album got. It got a great message and while it may not be able to touch some of his other projects, it is amazing and an easy 8/10. Great video as usual!
i remember when this album cam out and people(mumble rap fans) were calling it trash because it was to preachy. And in the following months of this albums release a lot of rappers were dying from drug overdose.
This is my favorite Cole album! 2018 was a year of spiritual awakening for me, and I got into reading and wanted to get into meditation. I slowly started to around the time of this album. I was smoking and drinking daily, but told myself in some moments of wanting to get high to escape, I can meditate instead. I'm so grateful for his message and theme throughout the album and it's forever relevant.
I completely looked over this album! This is a great reaction channel, I cried watching this and I'm a very grown, serious man lol. Thank you for sharing.
this is one of my favorite albums of all time, favorite j cole album, i even showed all j cole's albums to my father as well and used that to educate him a bit on issues in the black community and to help him become more knowledgable as a white man, he appreciated the album as well. so seeing this video with you and your dad was really great to see. im gonna check out your other j cole vids too thanks so much for this video! keep doing what your doing much love!
I just love KOD... listening to this while I had just finished high school, drinking all week because of a relationship that didn't work out. Having this made me realize how I was dealing and running from my problems.
I've always speculated that The Fall Off might have been an album talking about the downfall of artists in general. Like a whole album themed around an artist that blows up and fails to sustain the popularity/cash flow.
When I listen to j. Cole's album KOD is about the drug addiction who been through Kids on Drugs, Kill Our Demons or King Overdose. And the last track 1985 (Intro to the Fall Off) I thought he's going to release his another album very soon but it will take a while, good thing i got The Off-Season album.
If you haven't listened to it I highly recommend The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. It's an amazing album (I have a lot of friends that don't like rock music but love this album).
Please react to Mona Lisa by Joel Ortiz and Apollo Brown. It's a FANTASTIC album w a great Jazz background/undertone. Joel has a really good ability to bring you into NY, even if you're 3k miles away.
Always so nice to watch these deep-cut talks at the end! Specifically this one. Thanks for those great videos! And btw any plans on doing Radiohead or Lana del Rey albums?
@@putyouon Got it. Pumped to see your dad's reaction to Lana at some point. Since it's so different to what he has been exploring so far. And regarding Radiohead, I'd say it is def worth checking out even if you won't initially like them as it's quite a big world of unique and top-level song making. And there is a high chance that u'll love them;) If u decide to try, I'd recommend to start with OK Computer. But anyway keep doing these great vids✌
@@omilkamolov8093 Radiohead In Rainbows is one of the most beautiful sounding albums ive ever heard, its a sonic journey but still accessible. I think for someone who is a pop and hip hop fan primarily would like that album most to start with. OK Computer was my first Radiohead album though, so maybe that works too.
This was a great album, you should look at Big L's First and only Album Release while he was alive, Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous, they say had Big L been alive today, he would have surpassed Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. He's known in Harlem az tha Punchline King.
Y’all talked a lot about flow patterns on this. You should react to Black Hystori Project by CyHi da Prynce. Would be fitting considering it’s literally February
I dig the new set up, looks chill and cozy. Was wondering if you planned on revisiting Kanye albums any time soon? I know his first few albums are probably more well liked but I personally think the 2nd half of his career from MBDTF to Donda is a little better and more interesting conceptually.
please react to the old J. Cole some of his best songs are from the mixtapes (Friday Night Lights, The Warm Up, and Truly Yours 1 & 2 ). His first too albums were also iconic. PLEASE JUST MORE J. COLE
Loving the new set. Glad to see you guys covering another classic. Would you by any chance have heard of a singer/songwriter named Jon Bellion? It would be great to see you guys react to his Glory Sound Prep album or The Human Condition
@@putyouon Sick! never got to see him live. But who knows, maybe if he ever drops again😅. Until then at least I got a video from you guys to look forward to
Juice WRLD - Legends Never Die Please if anyone disagrees, keep it to urself lol 😅 usually people like to hate every time I request a juice wrld album in his videos. 🥺
Great reaction guys! Coles newest album Off Season came out last year and was amazing. Even better than this one imo. I'm sure you'll get to it but in the meantime you should check out his freestyle on hot 97 in the run up to the Album.

Remember being depressed and listening to this Album..Made me realize i'm worth it and I don't need no drug or anybody to be happy in life
Beautiful
Thank you for giving this project a spin🙏🏿. People overlook it too often in J. Cole's more recent discography.
"Motiv8" is one of my favorite Cole songs. Happy he enjoyed it LOL
This the album that helped me kick my weed and perc addiction so it’ll always have a special place in my heart. Great reaction 🙏🏾
That’s incredible, thanks for watching hope you’re doing well ✌🏻
I never got the hate this album got. It got a great message and while it may not be able to touch some of his other projects, it is amazing and an easy 8/10. Great video as usual!
Thanks for watching and I completely agree :)
this is my favorite album by him, i never understood the hate either.
Lol it's cause he was taking shots at some of these kids favorite rappers and they couldn't handle it.
Used to be one of my favourite albums back when i was getting into Hip-hop and still has a place in my heart 😏
It’s funny how what people call Worst Cole’s Albums has his best songs. Brackets, Friends and Interlude are in his top 20 solo songs!!!
i remember when this album cam out and people(mumble rap fans) were calling it trash because it was to preachy. And in the following months of this albums release a lot of rappers were dying from drug overdose.
Maaannn, I heard friends at a time in my life when it was most needed, so good.
Can’t wait for you do the off-season
My favorite Cole project. Thanks guys!

My favorite jcole album , and one of the best album cover 💯

Cole predicted the future on 1985 with scary accuracy
Really appreciate both your takes on the variety of artist’s albums you review. I enjoy all your videos so much.
