Hey folks! It's been a few years since this video released and since then, the AU explanation has been removed! I can't remember the run down entirely but some important notes:
1. Swiftpaw survives and is punished by Bluestar with the name "Dogheart"
2. He blames himself for his and Brightheart's injuries and refuses to continue his warrior training, but is instead encouraged to become a medicine cat. This is also why he never changes his name- he, in a way, "punishes" himself for his actions by always keeping this name.
3. With this position filled, Leafpool does not become a medicine cat later on. However, since cross-clan relationships are still forbidden, she still feels that she cannot keep her kits. She confides in Dogheart, as she needs a medicine cat to help her kit, and Dogheart accepts her and assists her.
4. Dogheart and Jayfeather have a mentor and apprentice relationship. Not a romantic one. (A lot of people in the comments seemed to be shipping them, so I'd just like to clarify this specifically!) When Jayfeather finds out that Dogheart knew that Leafpool was his mother, he is furious. They reconcile after Flametail's death, where Jayfeather blames himself, and Dogheart insists that it isn't his fault.
5. Eventually, Dogheart is offered to train in the Dark Forest, but as his clan has always been his priority, he turns down this offer bitterly.
6. While his relationship with Starclan has been rocky, Dogheart is finally taken to Starclan by his former mentor Longtail, of whom he always cared greatly for, and died protecting in the Great Battle.
Please respect the decision to not include Brightheart x Dogheart in this AU, as it was not included by the original creator of the AU.

SUMMARY of AU! (Most important thing is basically that Leafpool ended up with Crowfeather but confided in Dogheart, they weren't mates^!)
An AU in which Swiftpaw survived the dog attack. He was injured farther than Brightheart and like Brightheart also received a name for his actions, rather than Lostface, Bluestar gave him the name of Dogheart, for his foolish actions and results. Brightheart was capable of continuing as a Warrior but Swiftpaw/Dogheart was not, and took the path of a medicine cat to still feel as though he's helping his clan. Even after Brightheart has lost the name of Lostface, Swiftpaw decides to keep the name of Dogheart, believing he deserves it for his ignorance. He leads a life mentored by Cinderpelt, making it so that Leafpool never became a medicine cat, and eventually receiving Jayfeather (Jaypaw) as his own apprentice. He becomes an astounding medicine cat but never forgets his potential life of a warrior, remaining close with his previous mentor Longtail until he passes away, leaving him heart broken. After Cinderpelt's death and before Jayfeather, Leafpool confides in Dogheart when she becomes pregnant with Crowfeather's kits and Dogheart takes it better than expected, explaining that he knows the feeling of guilt in a situation that shouldn't have happened (the dog attack) and gives her herbs to stop her milk. Jayfeather grows close to Dogheart in his life and Jayfeather becomes considerably angry when he finds out that Dogheart knew that Leafpool was his mother. Their bond is fixed after Flametail's death, Jayfeather being distraught that he couldn't save him, Dogheart comforts him. Throughout his life, he's faced with many challenges, but none worse than the rising threat of the Dark Forest. Dogheart is offered a place in the Dark Forest, persuaded to join by the fact that he deserved more out of life than what was left of him after the dog attack. Dogheart refuses, but does not choose the side of Starclan either, rather choosing the side of his clan. His faith slowly begins to dwindle in Starclan as he focuses more on helping his clan than anything. Dogheart stays ready to defend his clan during the battle against the Dark Forest and is drawn out of his den when he spots Longtail fighting with his former clanmate Darkstripe and losing the battle. He successfully protects Longtail but not without losing his own life. Knowing his clan is safe and that he's served them well, Dogheart is finally able to rest easy, Longtail leading him to the afterlife.
This is a well planned out AU! I’ve never seen one like this! You and whoever else did this AU did an outstanding job!

I think if he had survived and become a warrior, instead of dog heart, he should of been swift wing, as he had freedom to fly and bravery more then anyone can compare to, it just fits him realy well, as he has his own wings now
well, if we're being technical, due to the state bluestar was in during the attack, she would have been hostile to starclan which lead her to naming brightheart the way she did before, so it would make sense for her either naming swiftpaw (or dogheart in this case) dogheart or giving him a name relating to a permanent injury from the attack, like she did with brightheart

Okay officially my favorite AU for Swiftpaw. He definitely deserved more than he got and in the end I loved the idea that he was Jayfeather's mentor and fought against the dark forest to save Longtail. This AU version of Swiftpaw/Dogheart deserves his place in StarClan.

Of all the deaths in the first arc, Swiftpaw's was one of the ones that hit me the hardest, alongside Badgerfang and Yellowfang's, so I really appreciate this map. Something about his untimely demise always just stuck with me

-If Leafpool wasn't a medicine cat, why did she hid that she had kits since queens don't need to tell who the father is?
•I don't know, I don't remember this in the original AU, but I think she was too much scared to know what to do.
No Swiftheart?
•No, Swiftpaw became a medicine cat. Not a warrior. And in the books they never showed that they were in love with each other, as the original creator said, it is Brightheart's nature to don't leave anyone behind.
-Why he became a med. Cat if Brightheart was clearly more injured?
•If I remember well, he lost a part of his tail, so he almost had Halftail's problems. And he also wanted to become a Med. Cat so he could save other cat's lifes instead of putting them in danger like Brightheart.
-Why Firestar didn't gave him a new name?
•Firestar offered Dogheart a new name, but Dogheart refused, he though that he deserved his name for what he done to Brightheart
-Why Dogheart?
•In warriors, dogs are seen as danger, so Dogheart would be Bluestar's way to say that Dogheart was dangerous after almost killing Lostface.

Why did Leafpool have to hide her kits?
She still had a forbidden relationship with Crowfeather so it was still against the code and unlike the situation with Bluestar and her kits there wasn't a Thrushpelt to claim her kits as his own, except for the fact that Squirrelflight was her Thrushpelt in a sense
No Swiftheart?
I'm sorry but I don't personally ship them because having read and reread the books a few times specifically looking out for Swiftheart, there was more foreshadowing to the fact that Brightheart and Cloudtail were going to get together than them two and I believe they were just friends! You're welcome to your opinion but that's mine- also in this map specifically, he became a medicine cat and was very loyal to his clan and the code after seeing what happens when rules are broken so he would not have taken Brightheart as a mate regardless :)
Why did he become a med cat?
Yep, primarily the tail problem as you can see in this one it's got a broken look to it, making it basically disfunctional for balancing use as well as the fact that his injuries led to his body not being able to move how it basically should be able to in general while all Brightheart lost was an eye which she was able to learn to work with!

(I totally misexplained this) I updated the description with a more accurate one, leafpool was a warrior, ended up with crowfeather, and confided in Dogheart/Swiftpaw with the fact that she was pregnant as he understood what it was like to break the rules with a less than expected outcome so he chooses to help her (thus why Jay and him get in an argument later when Jay finds out he knew but didn't tell him)

Honestly, Brightheart is such an underrated character, and the idea of her being able to bear her scars proudly with Swiftpaw (Dogheart) by her side, makes me want to cry with joy. Thank you!

I see the scar on his neck and keep headcanoning that he's mute or at least has more difficulty speaking than he used to which is the main reason why he was unable to be a warrior.
So I read the summary and it all makes sense and this MAP is just incredible. I absolutely adore the idea of Swiftpaw as a medicine cat ❤️❤️

This AU is amazing!! It’s so well thought through and i love the medicine cat/ saving Longtail twist at the end, and him actually losing and finally joining starclan. The Flashbacks at the end caught me off guard :’( I love this so freaking much
But wait so are Dogheart and Leafpool a thing and the entire conflicts still plays out which is why Jay is angry with him etc?
Sorry I didn't explain the last bit! Leafpool lived her life as a warrior but still ended up with Crowfeather, she confides in Dogheart about this, seeking herbs to hide her pregnancy, Dogheart takes it well considering he knows what it's like to make a foolish mistake and knows how it feels to be treated badly about it, so he tries to be understanding, offering her herbs to help. :)

I am absolutely in LOVE with Dogheart comforting Jay after Flametails death, he is a great father figure in this map and I just love it!!
I absolutely adore this AU and I think it was scripted well. The animation is stunning and it's clear that everyone who worked on this put a lot of hard work into this. My only question is about Leafpool and her kits. If she wasn't a medicine cat in this AU, why did she still give up her kits? There have been other queens who had half-clan kits yet kept their litters while only keeping the father secret. I'm sorry if this sounds like an accusation or something negative, it was just a genuine question I had. I don't know if anyone else asked this already, so I apologize again if someone has. Regardless, this is amazing. Wonderful job to each artist.

I think Swiftpaw, if becoming a medicine cat, would reincarnate like Cinderpelt, because he was meant to be a warrior, but it was thwarted by Tigerstar. My only question for this AU, is why isn't Brightheart the Medic instead, when she's physically disabled, while it seems in this AU, Swiftpaw just has insane scars.

I really like this! Only thing I don't see explained is leafpool staying in thunderclan? In the books the only reason she didn't run away was because of her medicine cat duties as the last medicine cat in the clan, so why wouldn't she of run away with crowfeather if she's not a medicine cat in this?
Also, I do agree that swiftheart wouldn't of happened after the attack..he'd probably feel so much guilt for hurting her in his dumb plan and thus would refuse to be mates with her (he'd be happy for cloudtail and her), along with being a medicine cat (he'd take his duties seriously and wouldn't take a mate).

If he was a warrior, his name would probably be Swiftstorm. He attacked the dogs like a storm, swift, desperate, and dangerous. That is just my opinion. Still, good job on thjs!

i think that swiftpaw would be an interesting medicine cat but if he lived i dont think i'd want to see him as a medicine cat cause in my eyes he would always be a warrior in brightheart's words "I don't know when the end came for swiftpaw. I only remember him fighting like all of lionclan. thats how i will always remember him". im still in love with this AU and i dont have anything against it!

I wouldn’t have expected him to give up his chance at being Brightheart’s mate. Guess the clan is more important to him.
BrightHeart was his cousin. Goldenflower is SwiftPaw’s mother and GoldenFlower is the sister of LionHeart. LionHeart had 4 kits with FrostFur including BrightHeart.
If Leafpool became a Warrior then why did she have to hide the fact that she was the three's mother?

@@4Stormfly It's much like the Thrushpelt and Bluestar situation where Bluestar could have easily just not claimed who the father was but Thrushpelt offered to claim them as his own - Leafpool very well could have just not claimed who the father was, but Squirrelflight was her Thrushpelt in this scenario :)
