Muslims still believe Judaism is true religion and we still honor Moses, Jacob, Joseph, so if Muslim leave Islam he’s only subtracting himself down to not belief in the final message.
In fact, Islam accepts Abraham, Issac, Moses, Jacob, and Jesus as Prophets. I am a Christian btw.

Come on Corey, you know everyone wants you to ask the Pals if they would accept a Muslim converting to Judaism.
Well since Judaism is not a religion you can even chose. This isn’t a question. The Jews are a chosen people of God though lineage. How can a Muslim convert to a lineage? Christianity is better question. Sine it makes sense.

I'm impressed with the answers - it shows you that slowly the next generations, either muslim, jewish, catholique or any other religion, they will learn to respect and accept each other, as long there is no extremism. I'm muslim and if my child became jewish, I will respect his or her decision and will never ever cut them off. Thanks for this video.

No offense to you, but, there are people who convert just to cause their parents the most harm. I've seen people convert from Islam to Judaism and vice versa.

As an Atheist it would really bother me due to the number of Muslim countires where Atheism carries the death penalty. As another person wrote swap this around and ask Muslims if their kid converted to Judiasm. All the countries where Apostacy is punishable by death have Muslim majority populations.
They should swamp and ask if their kids converted to Christianity. Since you can only be Jewish if you have a Jewish mother, maybe they would say they don't have a problem with their children converting because they know it could never happen.
Why is the death penalty bothersome to you?

As a secular Jew it will be hard for me to accept a child of mine converting to Islam or Christianity. Islam because of the animosity towards our self-determination and Christianity because of the stolen traditions and the fact that their father grew up in a cultural Christian house and resents the religion deeply. If they chose Hinduism, Buddhism, Shinto, Taoism or any other South or East Asian religion that doesn't seek to convert the world it would be different. It would just mean they found truth outside of the Jewish perspective. Still, I will never cut off a child of mine, though with the amount of debates they might do that instead.
"that doesn't seek to convert the world, it would be different"_

As an atheist Israeli Jew, when my kids were young, my fear was that they would get snared by the Orthodox 'back to religion' (chozer b'tshuva) missionaries because they are very succesful in Israel. In many cases like these, it's the kids themselves that cut off their parents. And BTW the same happens when an ultra Orthodox child becomes leaves their cult.
I honestly can not believe anyone with a brain can follow any religion, especially the Abrahamic ones. At least in Buddhism for the most part they are vegetarian, so at least they do something good for the planet.
ATHEIST ISRAELI JEW😮😮😮 😂😂😂😂😂😂WOW
My question is why you're so against the "orthodox". As someone who has seen both the secular and orthodox world (without the influence of others) I find it unfair to act as if they are a cult when they are humans just like you.
I find most who share your opinions know nothing about them. I used to share similar beliefs as you thinking that they tricked and manipulated kids to become religious until I found out they simply were trying to show them how you can be so joyful when serving G-d.
Perhaps to an atheist that sounds bad but I think that gives value to one's life
@@manny__003 You have like 20% who Athiest from the Jews in Israel?
Wow because thay would just be so bad...yet so.many of the soldiers who have died in Gaza defending you and your children are what you might term right wing!
As a Muslim who studies Judaism and has lived among Jewish people I think the concern is more towards whether the ones who convert to Islam want to continue living with their Jewish parents/family or not.
Because Islam does prohibit certain things the Jews do. If let say the children who convert to Islam are not religious, maybe converting for marriage but still living as secular Muslim who maintain their familial tradition, then there is nothing wrong with that.
In Judaism, a Jew remains a Jew no matter what religion he professes. From a practical approach, Jewish people is a communal society that cherishes tradition to be upheld together. That is why even an atheist Jew might observe Passover seder.
For a religious Jewish point of view, a righteous Muslim is righteous by his own right and no need to convert to Judaism to be considered righteous.
But from current mainstream Muslim perspective, a righteous Jew is still not considered a believer as long as the Jew doesn’t convert to Islam. Traditionally, Islam regards Jews and Christians as People of the Book who will receive rewards from God but nowadays the scholars interpret is by only one condition which is accepting the latest version of Abrahamic religion that is the Sharia of Muhammad pbuh.
Hence that is why from the video we can notice that mostly they accept their children still and will not cut them off. But they do have concern whether the child would still want to be with them in continuing their tradition, or that the child will become extremist that regards Jews as enemies of Islam etc.
It is not about that they feel their children will end up in hell and they too are responsible (that they might end up in hell for failing to bring their children back to Judaism) like most Muslim parents would think when their children convert to other religions.

I would consider myself a failed parent if my child becomes religious. I see it as my duty to tech the children that religions are mythology, and gods are not actually real.
@pvlr1788 With respect, you cannot disprove there is a higher power or creator, so in the end this idea of being a failed parent is just as pig-headed as the most fundamentalist or Orthodox could be. Freedom of the mind oughht to include freedom from religion, as well as the freedom to believe as well. I reckon Atheism sometimes is akin to religion, or its own religion. Many people are culturally religious... not fundamentalists, or absolutists... just ordinary people who get something out of celebrating parts of their respective faiths that they find meaningful and enriching in their lives. Many believers hold in their hearts and minds an abstract idea of a higher power and a creator without claiming to know all the details, or that one path is the "one true path". There are many atheists and agnostics who still belong to Reform congregations. I've known many Catholics who do not believe Jesus was divine or the son of a virgin, yet they still take from their religious tradition what is meaningful, and they cherish those aspects. On JTV a few years back, I watched Conservative rabbi (Masorti) tell a sheepish and embarrassed young Jewish man who said he did not believe, and was that OK, and if there was a place for him within Judaism, and even that rabbi said "No problem, just continue to live as if there is a G-d". We can all still learn good things from religious texts and training. It doesn't have to be what you seem to think it entails.

To parents whose kids convert to islam : don't panic, in most cases they are just experimenting, most converts to islam actually leave islam, from what I see.
Practicing islam is just hard and boring, and life becomes tasteless if you have lived a non-Muslim life before, so generally people go back to their former lives once the excitement of the new conversion wears off.
It’s funny how people claim to be culturally muslim. Middle eastern people have been full of life knowledge etc since before Islam, and if Islam never existed they would still be. If anything, Islamic law restricts the beauty of beautiful countries like Arabia Iraq Jordan Syria etc.

Why convert? Because of marriage? because of falling in love with someone from a different religion? In Indonesia, there was a Jewish family, the Mussry Family. They lived in Surabaya City. They came from Iraq. The first generation who moved to Indonesia still followed Judaism. That's why we could find a synagogue in Surabaya city and their tombs still have Jewish traditions such as Star David. Second generation Converted to Islam by marrying a local Indonesian woman who is Muslim. The third generation automatically was born as Muslim. The third generation is still living in Indonesia. No hatred for the third generation. By the way, the third generation is a very successful business Jewish man.
The same question for Palestinians, I guess they would rather have the child ............ than convert to Israeli religion
It's a well known fact that they don't love their children
I am israeli (jew) half german (catholic). The father of my 3 kids is half egyptian (muslim) and half swiss (christian). I grew up as jewish and he as muslim, but we are both not religous. We never taught our kids any religion. Our oldest daughter feels she is jewish and our son feels he is muslim, the youngest is non. We live in a small catholic village in switzerland. I wish for people to come back to their hearts and see all human being as the people they are and not their religion. Only this way we could truely live in peace.
♥
Nicely. But I think it's because your husband is an atheist.
Then move away from Switzerland. Leave Switzerland alone and go back to Israel or Arabia.
Religion is made to become a good and better person. If it doesn't bring you that, it's not worth much. If it does, it worth all the world
That's inspiring and a hopeful for the next generation to pass the torch and improve the flame for coexistence. Maybe they could keep diaries and write a book together someday about it. I'd love to see more movies and stuff about interfaith and Unitarianism
I am a Christian by birth but I am an agnostic, but I did not even expect that the Jews would be extreme in their response. But I don't understand why the author is surprised if someone says that he would cut ties with the child. The left-wing ideas where everything is acceptable started to bother me as well as the right-wing ideas. If leftists stand for freedom in everything, why is it critical if someone has a view that something is unacceptable? Well, that person also has the right to choose. I would like to hear a Muslim answer to the same question. And I would like to hear if you would question Muslims if they said that they would break off relations with their children, why.
That’s why I Jews ❤️God bless israe and the Jews people 🇮🇱🙏.but I’m protestat christian.

At least muslims have a religion they stand by, you guys dont even know if you’re a religion or ethnicity

For those people getting offended that he asked this question, he nearly always does a follow up and asks the same question to the other party!
@CoreyGilShusterAskProject - I’m wondering if you can do a special question for me. Can you ask Israelis about their first memory of a bomb shelter? How old were they? What did they know about the bombs? Do they remember the first time they learned about why there were bombs being fired at them? I’d also like to ask if you could do a special edition with children - maybe don’t show their faces - a white sheet and light so you just see their silhouette maybe; and maybe the questions here would be open questions so we get to hear what the children most want us all to know about their lives. I remember the first time I met Israelis here in Australia. They were young adults, and they were so clearly pacifists but also spoke about being in the army. It was a real eye opener to learn that there was conscription, but that they didn’t think it was really terrible. They talked very much about the IDF as defence. So I’d really like it if other people could hear more about what it’s like to grow up knowing that there are offensive bombing attacks aimed at your community every so often.
Most Israelis either learn about bomb shelters in very young age from the need to go there, or they learn about them in schools where they teach us what to do if we hear a siren and where to go.
Why did you only interviewed secular or non-practising Jews?
Because they are the majority of Israel, ultra orthodox and super religious groups are less likely to participate in these things also
Those represent the majority in the country.
@@user-dn6fw1ss1c it would still be very interesting to know what religious Jews have to say
@@user-dn6fw1ss1c I don't think so. I have watched many videos on this channel where lots of orthodox and super religious groups are interviewed and answer the questions.
Cause long story short, some of the religious Jews would answer no although it would be extremely hard, but the ultra orthodox would say that they will cut him off

As a western-born/living Arab Muslim of a more progressive bent, this was somewhat pleasantly surprising for once. It's nice to see that ties wouldn't necessarily be cut over such a thing. For those saying to ask the reverse, expecting different replies, I'm sure you're right but let's keep in mind Islam and Judaism aren't the same thing. To these people, one doesn't stop being Jewish by converting to Islam as they are Jewish by birth, I'm assuming. I still think Muslims should accept children who leave the children but alas, they're somewhat different issues since Islam isn't an ethnoreligion.
We're talking religion-wise. You obviously can't change your ethnicity.

What if their kids moved back to Europe where they all come from? Forget the Islam question. What would they do if their children rejected Z-ionism?
Good question 👍
As an atheist I would.
Not a very good atheist then. As an atheist I would have faith in my ability to use evidence and the critical thinking skills I raised them to have to engage with logic, reason, morals and ethics. This is why enlightenment history and reform movement history, including Jewish emancipation should be taught in schools.
Why? I'm an atheist too, but if they developed a different belief, they are still human and still your child. Yes, Islam has some major problems. But there are also good ideas within Islam. Religion is an outer feature of a person. It does not define everything about them. Plus, they may de-convert eventually. Would you ruin your relationship with your child forever over a different view like that?
