  • Did you know that there is lot more to Bylakuppe than just the Namdroling Monastery a.k.a. The Golden Temple? Bylakuppe, by the way, is the second largest Tibetan settlement in India. Watch my vlog as we take a tour through this mini Tibet in Karnataka and visit the different Monasteries and Monastic Universities in this settlement. Know more about the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Sera Mey Monastery, Sera Jey Monastic University and, of course, the Namdroling Monastery!

      Thanks! Glad you liked it 🙂! Indeed...all the monasteries in Bylakuppe are really worth visiting....but then again these are not typical touristy places....the privacy of those praying and the sanctity of the place should be respected.

    Bylakuppe is more than Namdrolling monstery. Namdrolling Monastery is popular among tourist because they open up the monastery for the tourist. tourist only know that this monastery exist and visit and go. Sera monastery is a lot bigger and has about 10,000 monks. Namdrolling monastery should ban tourist lying in the prayers hall than the camera. I was appalled to see people lying down on the cool marble stone of the prayer hall when they were tired! Anyway Bylakupe is more than the monasteries and it is one of the biggest settlements than any other settlements in India. I am glad that Sera Monastery is not popular and monastery should remain as place of education rather than tourist spots ;-))

    • @MeenakshiGhosh
      @MeenakshiGhosh  4 года назад +1

      Yes I agree that Bylakuppe is indeed much beyond the Namdroling Monastery. It is really sad that few people fail to conduct themselves properly in sacred places.

      You can book one of the guest houses, run by different monasteries in Bylakuppe like Sera Jey, Sera Mey, for your stay there. However I am not too sure about any meditation course being organised by the monasteries.
