  • The Capris were composed of five teenagers from Long Island that sang doo wop music in the later 1950s. The lead singer Nick Santamaria composed most of the songs that they recorded. Their first hit was "There's a Moon Out Tonight" which was recorded and published on 45 rpm vinyl, but sat unnoticed for a couple of years. It hit the airwaves and became a major hit and a class through today. Second tenor Frank Reina tells Tom the history of the group and of the two biggest hits which remain milestones on their path through the rock 'n' roll universe.

Saw you at Count Basie last year in Red Bank, NJ , What a great show, great to hear the group, which has changed, but the music is still AWESOME! So glad to hear the story Frank, thanks for sharing. Your song "Morse Code of Love" is amazing, shame it wasn't released and promoted in the 60's, you guys would have been launched. Thanks for all the wonderful music and memories, LOVIN IT!!!!!
