As a service manager I kept one of the little Autel scanners handy to do quick "free check engine light checks," verify work, do quick pre-diags, but it walked away a few days ago and I am looking for a replacement. I keep one of these small guys in my personal vehicle. Nice to see what a check engine light pops on for on a trip. Also nice if on of you biddies mentions his check engine light came on and wonders if i can take a quick look at it.

Use a 317 myself for the same reason. Have an older Actron that is now a loaner.

Get yourself an OBD 2 extension cable. It prevents the bending of the cable near the connector.
