Jason's got a great voice, and he is an excellent musician overall. You should see his covers of "Pride (In the Name of Love)" by U2 and "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" by Chicago. I think he has 7 million views on that one.
Any guitarists out there catch the missed and quickly recovered solo bend note? Like “whoops that ain’t it!? Oh there it is one fret up” lol. Great recovery
Check out his covers with Trev Lukather, Sam Porcaro and Josh Devine of One Direction as the backing musicians. The next generation of Toto progeny doing what their Pops did so well in the studio.
I don’t think Journey wants one lead singer anymore. Arnel, Deen and this additional keyboard player. Which I don’t know why they have or need him, but anyway I think Deen does as good as Arnel and this guy combined. His good enough on his own. I know they won’t do it cause they wouldn’t want a lead singer drummer. Deen can definitely do justice to all Perry’s songs and has that Tenor voice too.
I think the general consensus is that one of their previous singers had lungs like a horse and could hit the notes for hours a night while on tour, so to give the current vocalist a shot at not blowing out their vocal cords, give him a break here and there. That being said, Suzanne always hits me hard. I love this song. And was fortunate enough to be at this show. I think Arnel, Jason, and Deen do it justice. Time to replay this again :) Oh, and thank you Rholedz for a great capture.
Ah .. NOW it's "OPEN MIKE" time for Neil Schon's EGO-FEST, 3 or 4 band members to do what STEVE PERRY did ALONE for 2 hour shows. . . NEXT, Neil the EGO-Schon will invite AUDIENCE members on stage to FURTHER THUMB his nose at "The VIOCE" , It's a SAD Karaoke Tour, at this point.
I’ve never heard this singer before I think. But I think the mix is bad because his volume is too low. He sounds really good though from what I can hear.
Neil Rockin that Eddie Van Halen Guitar!!
the mans got pipes!!!!
I was totally and absolutely impressed and perplexed with his performance. Humbold and polite. Amazing surprise. He is real musician.
Remember Suzanne!!!
Jason, outstanding
I love Jason's voice, he is amazing ❤😊
Just look at Todd Jensen...he is rocking it!
Like him alot, he looks so comfortable, a little like the mighty Ross Valory.
@@kennethlundgren4336 Yes! Both great bass players!
He needs to be in front of the stage!
I was here at this performance and i had no idea theyd play my favorite song (this one) :)
What a great song!!
Beautifull performance 👍
Wow ❤ What a magnificent performance 👏 👌 😊
From beginning to end thrilling last 20sec goosebumps
I just saw them last night in Orlando. Loved hearing this song live. Super performance. Thanks for posting! ❤

Wow, shockingly awesome

Close as we will get to sounding like Steve.good job!
I love that song.
Awesome
I’m going to see them in Arlington, TX this year, can’t wait to hear Jason
Great song for Jason 🎉❤
YES YES YES!!!🎵🎵🎵
Amazing love it
love this!!!!❤
They’re making sure they won’t ever be without a singer again.

Yup. 2 frets down by the sound of it.
a VERY rare Schon mistake
Haha! Im a drummer and I picked it out. Check my comment above ..... 👍
I don't know why Jason can't come out front to sing this. He's not playing keyboards here
Wired mic. They'd have to reEQ for him on the front mic and then readjust it back for Arnell
I agree. He's singing lead, he should be out front. Surely they can figure out the mics for the sake of the stage performance
@@RobbieDickinsonmight be a comfort thing for him.
2:12 that mistake from Neal 😅 But the recovery is Epic👌👍
I never noticed he messed up there but YES the recovery was sick as hell
Good work! But it just reminds me how powerful that Steve Perry was...
Nobody will ever replace Steve Perry

dean should be singing this
I've heard him sing this (2006 time frame). His vocal pitch is a bit too high IMHO.
He has in the past.

Deen is the closest to Steve Perry in tonal quality, and timbre.
But what do I know, other than what I like.
He's very impressive, though.

they just trying to test the waters if fans will accept him as Arnel replacement

No body can sing like Mr perry better
No emotion! Steve Perry forever!
Jason needs to be out front
Decent singer but he ain’t Perry. Who is tho?
El sr. canta de la chingada esta canción. No tiene el sentimiento ni el poder que le imprimía Steve Perry.
Shut up Jason sings this better live than SP did live.
@@pseudowoodo5010
!You shut up! Even dreaming this guy wouldn't sing like Steve Perry did.
test
Isn't that a live autotune?🤨
Deen is better on this one.
😒😒😒😒 jajaja that boy is breaking his voice and doesn't even get the Steve Perry's lines!!
Великолепнейше !!!!
He certainly doesn't have the range to lead this band, that's for sure.
Taking a dump on Journey's legacy. Stop already
