I bought this one for my son and it’s pretty good race car . But I realize the battery last like 10 min Normal use not racing all the time. Is that normal? Also for some reason the car is not working properly I mean while drive the car just stop and looks like something stock on the gear. Already take everything apart did some cleaning and everything was ok. I did make sure battery is charged 3 hrs as manual says and controles battery’s as well. Can you help me ??
Great modification & idea to place the esc. I am trying to modify a Pirate Tracker. Do you know about this model. I want to put all the gearing of a wltoy in it.
Great job there buddy.....That motor looks hilarious in there, must be crazy fast, just ordered my brushless combo can't wait to upgrade my 959b..... Have ordered all metal diff parts can you recommend which upgrade chassis to go with they have two different metal ones available and a carbon fiber one....?? Thanks
hey, good luck on your build!!! So far nothing has broken on mine, I have the punch and brake settings lowered on this ESC, to make sure it does not do back flips. I need to really upgrade the steering parts, it is way to wobbly and unstable at all speeds. No idea about the metal chassis, But I'd recommend you get a silver color one, because any scratched on the colored ones will look so bad when it's scratched.
I bought a gyro skyrc skyrc I am just waiting for this engine and esc what are you testing :) servo and receiver also the ones you. I will question this receiver flysky will walk with this remote control from a979b with a box ??? how to set it up brother :) and I'm waiting for your movie
this Flysky gt3B is a great remote because the receivers are cheap and reliable, plus it has 10 model memory, so you can just buy spare receivers and use the same remote for unto ten models. When you get the remote and receivers you will need to bind them (I've got a video on here that shows how). For the money this remote is the best overall, many RC hobbyists use it, it's never let me down.
sounds like you are saying if this remote will work with the factory 2 in 1 ESC/reciever in the car. The answer is NO. You will just install the receiver that your new flysky comes with in the car, bind it. Then you would need a hobby grade ESC and servo (like the ones I am using).
hey buddy!! The gear is fine. I have not stripped anything so far. Keep in mind I don't really do much Orr roading with this one and mostly just speed runs on normal pavement.
again if doesnt mean anything because you will need a smaller pinion to at least get moving speed rc cars use around 1800kv with a gearing the is high from 28t pinion to even 32 I run an a 2050kv 6s and get 74mph on a 1/8 scale 180 amps 43 main and 13t pinion
I agree the tires did ballon some with the standard motor, but nowhere close to this. I made a video when I first unboxed this and spun the wheels, gotta go check it out again. Next is a test with 3S, and then a road test outside.
I have one that's powered by brushless 3665 1600kv and 120a esc lol 3650 is fast but my build is a whole different world of power. Are you in the wltoys owner Facebook group?
hey man!! I will look up the FB group for these, great idea. Damn man a 3665 is so torquey but low RPM from the low KV. How many cells do you run, like 4?
@@hybrid32494 it's on 3s right now. It's a very well sorted out car now. The motor is good for 30v with a 60a draw and the ESC spec sheet claims 6s but I'll probably stop at 4s. Also building one with a brushless 2860. It's a great chassis once you figure out how to keep it straight
exactly, but can you tell me how you are keeping it straight. Mine is extremely sloppy in terms of straight acceleration and steering. Ofcourse I don't have any aluminum suspension upgrades at all.
@@hybrid32494 adjustable suspension links, good alignment, 1000 cst oiled aluminum shocks, 76mm wheels, and added weight up front(not much tho). Another thing is you want all the slop out of the steering linkage to prevent the high speed pull to the right torque steer. I managed to fix that by putting a rubber band around one of the steering arms, over the chassis center brace, and around the opposite steering arm. Oh and with the power and grip I make you need a wheelie bar or you do flips at 25% throttle

geemailMossman hello, yes. To upgrade the steering and esc system you need a separate radio and receiver. The stock car uses a 2 in 1 esc and reveiver unit, to change any of the electronics here will mean you need to have you own radio gear too.
What is the shaft size of the old motor? I have a brushless motor I want to put into mine but the shaft is 3.175 any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
hey man! I think that is the correct shaft size. Generally all 540 size motors have the same 3.175 MM motor shaft size. The 1.8 scale motors tend to always use 5 MM shafts. As long as your pinion can go onto the motor shaft and not be loose, you will be good.
BTW, 3.175 mm = 1/8th inch. Like exactly. The only other really common size for motor shafts that's close to that is 3 mm, but it's really easy to drill that out. The only thing that might make things hard for you is whether your motor shaft is keyed differently or not at all.
that would be. great idea, I need to order one. last time I tried getting them they were sold out. I got a set of 1/10 scale wheel conversion axles and hubs, wondering if I should attempt speed run with the stock setup and then the better touring car wheels first.
I just plugged in a 3S and did the wheel spin test again, there was even more ballooning this time, was pretty scary. Need to wear a mask now. This brushless system can easily handle larger 3S packs, whether or not this RC can will have to be tested, LOL.
Same thing I was saying running a castle 5800 steel parts and 35 tooth pinion gear can't even full throttle an never have lol saddly.. but all this power on such small machine it's funny shocking to see others face when it takes off...lol
hey buddy! these cars use a 540 motor. If you're planning on an upgrade the best idea is to just go full scale 540 brushless on this. You could get nice 60AMP 5200KV system for like 40 bucks. Only problem is you will also need to change the radio and servo. Otherwise I wold just run this with the stock system.
hello, I use the FLYSKY FSGT-3B with most of my rcs. It's a good computer 2.4GHZ radio and the receivers cost about 7-8 bucks each. You can bind unto 10 receivers to one radio. The complete system is about 35 bucks on eBay, you can't go wrong.
YUP, thats called ballooning. Basically when the wheel speed is just so high the tires expand, sometimes even blow apart. thats the scary part, lol. thanks for watching.
what's the deal with battery charging up to 3.5 for purposes. how does the battery have 11.4 it will drop 1v and you have to stop driving ?? you can not conquer till the end
you can send me a link with some cheap arm to the servo of this mg90s yesterday I think it's servo it's because I can not even create a ball in my teeth and on a switched on beeping and you know what it will be? help me want to go :) it may be a short circuit from the water or a whack in the workroom

hello, a motor's KV rating means the RPM per Volt. So the higher the KV number, (1800-7600) the faster it will turn with the same battery. Therefore a 4000KV motor is faster than a 3500KV motor. I consider anything above 4000KV to be a quick motor.
I used to have the traxxas X0-1, was fast. But also cost over 700 bucks to buy. The batteries are 6S and cost more than this whole build. In reality the XO-1 is a low KV motor, so it has a lot of torque but also needs a lot of voltage to get it moving.
hey buddy! There are 2 size motors available for most WL TOYS 959 series of cars. One is the 540 can motor, and one is the 380 can motor. You cannot interchange them, because the motor mounts wont accommodate them, they are not adjustable.
hey buddy! I've never experience cogging to the point where it matters, hope this answers ur questions. You're also going to have some of that to a degree.
Hey man I was watch this and made me think that i wanna do another brushless on my A969. I have a 540 mount. Do I just need a spur gear and pinion gear? Also are you are you using the 3650 surpass hobby motor and esc?
yoo!! is your A969 the A or B version? If it's the A version with the smaller 390 sized motor then you will need the motor mount and pinion for sure. If you already have the 540 stock can motor installed in the B version then this will be a direct drop it, nothing at all needed. Even the pinion and motor mount will be reused. Yes, there are many of these 60-80A 540 motor models sold right now. Banggood has a good deal on one now. Check my video description for a link to a good system I would use.
hello, Yes if you have the a959-B. The one with the 540 motor. IF you have the lower size motor you can still make it work, but you will need a different motor mount to fit the 540 size motor and probably a different pinion to match the gear spacing. You can mod your current setup if you got the 380 size motor too.

I finally got my wltoys 10428 1/10 scale rc in the mail yesterday and im already super excited to start immediately getting into all the upgrades, already got a bad mofo battery for the little beasty :) i was wondering if you had any links to decent compatible motor upgrades and the like?, basically any upgrades for any part in it cept the suspension i already found all the metal upgrades for those, thanks in advance man.
Nice job. Do u have a link too eBay for this motor and esc? Carnt seem too find it, cheers
Will it be hot?after 5-10 min run?
Stock black chassis is Best
Great work but little shameful with the number of ads though, can you atleast change to something reasonable?
Sweet bro...love that's sounds! Pass the magic wand bro need that:)
RC Noypi Yup dude, thx. Gotta speed test this now, after i put on 1/10 touring car wheels probably.
stock tires and shocks cant possibly take that for long upgrade those for a serious improvement
when do you think you can make a test on the road and give a movie :) do you think it will take you around 100km? I wonder if something will happen
@@hybrid32494
will this flysky receiver move from this remote control from the box what was with the car ??
sounds like you are saying if this remote will work with the factory 2 in 1 ESC/reciever in the car. The answer is NO. You will just install the receiver that your new flysky comes with in the car, bind it. Then you would need a hobby grade ESC and servo (like the ones I am using).
Where I get the motor esc and the receiver
I have full metal upgrades but luck I burn my recover lol with a s3 2200mah
That's crazy 👍👍
thanks bro!
What did you do about plastic differential gear
hey buddy!! The gear is fine. I have not stripped anything so far. Keep in mind I don't really do much Orr roading with this one and mostly just speed runs on normal pavement.
What was the top speed?
Should do a full metal upgrade
Wow iam still waiting and imagine how fast this buggy will drive and go in a straight line ,time machine still no videos
whats up man!! I am honestly scared to drive this thing, need to get brave and do it for you!!, lol.
@@hybrid32494 drive it!
When will you do a speed run?
again if doesnt mean anything because you will need a smaller pinion to at least get moving speed rc cars use around 1800kv with a gearing the is high from 28t pinion to even 32 I run an a 2050kv 6s and get 74mph on a 1/8 scale 180 amps 43 main and 13t pinion
Is there going to be a speed test video?
with me, even for 2s, you make big balloons with you too ?? straight from the box 540 engine
There are videos of my car doing back flips from a stand still on the wltoys owner Facebook group
exactly, but can you tell me how you are keeping it straight.
Where did you get that servo mate ??
hey brother!!! This is a tower pro MG90S, its a basic metal gear micro servo. you can get them really cheap on eBay. I bought 5 for about 15 bucks total.
Thanks mate just ordered one I got a video about these cars and my RUclips channel want to see go to creative modifications
thats cool... upload road test video please
You got a link for the upgraded servo you used? Cheers
hello, this was a tower pro MG90S servo, they are cheap and metal geared. here is a random eBay link, you can find cheaper prices if you buy in bulk

hybrid32494 oh brilliant thanks for the link :-) much appreciated
what size battery do you use?
I guess we'll just have to imagine how fast it looks SMH

@@TheRCMaster is that the same upgrades?
@@kingstrange4062 nah different build man, I actually know what I'm doing with these and have the Fastest wltoys in the world on my channel 💪 85mph 1/18 101.9 mph 1/14
Right all the blabbering 🤣 🤣 🤣
Dude didn't even drive the car how do we know if that should even work this damn video is a waste of my time man
i am in hobby but never use programing card what for can you tell me i did order GoolRC Upgrade Waterproof F540 3930KV Brushless Motor &ESC For 1/10 do i need programing i want use for motorcycle
Did you have to change receiver?
geemailMossman hello, yes. To upgrade the steering and esc system you need a separate radio and receiver. The stock car uses a 2 in 1 esc and reveiver unit, to change any of the electronics here will mean you need to have you own radio gear too.
Great video bro Where is your accent from mate? Just curious, noticed u have a slight accent.
You must add wheelie bar on it
will you use the skyrc gyroscope for a straight ride??
that would be. great idea, I need to order one. last time I tried getting them they were sold out. I got a set of 1/10 scale wheel conversion axles and hubs, wondering if I should attempt speed run with the stock setup and then the better touring car wheels first.
@@hybrid32494
did you try on 3s on the original set of boxes ?? I wonder if something would go wrong
Which motor is the best on Wltoys a969? Is it a 540 or 550 motor.
hey buddy! these cars use a 540 motor. If you're planning on an upgrade the best idea is to just go full scale 540 brushless on this. You could get nice 60AMP 5200KV system for like 40 bucks. Only problem is you will also need to change the radio and servo. Otherwise I wold just run this with the stock system.
Hi wot controller and receiver do you recommend
hello, I use the FLYSKY FSGT-3B with most of my rcs. It's a good computer 2.4GHZ radio and the receivers cost about 7-8 bucks each. You can bind unto 10 receivers to one radio. The complete system is about 35 bucks on eBay, you can't go wrong.
Cheers
How hot were the electronics
Can u please send the link of the product thanks
I know that ESC had to blow. That thing only lasted one run with me and tried burning down my torment
Good job 👍🏻
thanks!!!
Wow... The tires deformed (beginning of the video). Crazy!
Gotta use some heat on thread lock...a hairdryer for 3 minutes would of prob did the trick . Anything hotter than that could be sketchy
you can send me a link with some cheap arm to the servo of this mg90s yesterday I think it's servo it's because I can not even create a ball in my teeth and on a switched on beeping and you know what it will be? help me want to go :) it may be a short circuit from the water or a whack in the workroom
I even watched the deleted scenes at the end
LOL, I just watched them right now! That was some clever time lapse recording I made, must have taken tons of memory too, cause it was pretty long. I have since learned to condense my recording to fit the Story Line better, to reduct unnecessary editing.
Everyone I see on RUclips that does a a959 or a979 mod says there's is the world's fastest. I'm doing a a959 build using a 7700 kv motor
Can you post a link for the motor & tower pro servo? Thanks!
sure, here is the link to the tower pro servo, try to buy them in bulk, you can get them for like under 4 bucks each that way. here is the similar brushless combo I used. Its just a different color, but same specs and price.

@@hybrid32494 how to choose the right kv so fast speed can also be wheelie easily. choose kv which is big or small? Answer please
hello, a motor's KV rating means the RPM per Volt. So the higher the KV number, (1800-7600) the faster it will turn with the same battery. Therefore a 4000KV motor is faster than a 3500KV motor. I consider anything above 4000KV to be a quick motor.
@@hybrid32494 in this video. 5000+kv. But with traxxas xo1. Faster traxxas. Please answer. I dont know many abaut rc
I used to have the traxxas X0-1, was fast. But also cost over 700 bucks to buy. The batteries are 6S and cost more than this whole build. In reality the XO-1 is a low KV motor, so it has a lot of torque but also needs a lot of voltage to get it moving.
Hi, max went 90km or 56miles on this combbo :) for 2s
I was thinking about servo tower pro mg90, this system what you will be testing but a pilot with a box: 0
this one I'm using is the Tower Pro MG90S. Very good and cheap servo. I got 5 of these for about 15 bucks a few years ago.
You have video test drive after modded?
Thanks for prompt reply
you got it!! I try to write everyone back, are you trying to upgrade you stock one now too?
You should make these and sell them. I would buy
will this motor fit into 1/18 a959 car? thanks
hey buddy! There are 2 size motors available for most WL TOYS 959 series of cars. One is the 540 can motor, and one is the 380 can motor. You cannot interchange them, because the motor mounts wont accommodate them, they are not adjustable.
It also works with the original remote control
Anyone have any cogging issues with a 4300 kv brushless setup?
Just Saw This While trying to find a Good Brushless Budget Friendly Motor for my Traxxas Bigfoot..
Jason Reacts OMG - Don’t drive it! Shelf it.
@@tonyromano6220 why?
Jorkki ! I forget! Lol
What size pinion are you using
hey man! That is the stock pinion on this thing. You really don't need to go any bigger, stay stock, it's already highly over geared.
@@hybrid32494 thank you for quick reply will be ordering one soon
I can not unscrew the brok from the motor's motorbike unless it has been twisted:) can it be taken otherwise? hahaha
areyou saying that your set screw on the pinion is damaged and you cant remove the pinion? Or that your motor screws are stripped on the motor mount?
would this upgrade work on the a959?
hello, Yes if you have the a959-B. The one with the 540 motor. IF you have the lower size motor you can still make it work, but you will need a different motor mount to fit the 540 size motor and probably a different pinion to match the gear spacing. You can mod your current setup if you got the 380 size motor too.
Same thing duhhhh wltoys all work to same toy grade car made hobby grade!
