Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

I don't comment a lot, but I avidly consume every video you release. I would be very remiss, though, if I did not stop and tell you how spectacular I feel your editing is. The way you tell the story, and then combine it with vignettes of the scenery, the chickens, the cats--it's just absolutely riveting. I watch quite a few RUclips videos every week in quarantine, and you are at the top of the list for them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us get through these hard months.

I fully agree and even mentioned this before as well! On top of all the physical hard work, they manage to come up with fantastic, professional level footage and delivery... I also think Allie (of Trent and Allie) does a good job on this level as well. Most viewers don’t realize that many RUclipsrs source out their filming and editing and hire people to do their videos, like Eamon and Bec.
Much respect Bee and Theo! 😍✊🏻

I have to say that I love your new format. It comes at a time when many other RUclipsrs seem to be cutting back to a single weekly video, brief though often frenetic. Your more leisurely pace means that we can join you in appreciating the orange trees, the chickens, the cats with their unique personalities, the Portuguese sunshine, and of course the barn build. Thanks.

Hi guys, you might want to look in to getting some guinea hens. They will decimate the ticks in no time. And they are very independent once they get started. Most of the the time they just live off the land so you don't really have to feed them. I think they would roost in trees at night so they would not need a shelter.
They really are like little seek and destroy

I grew up in a rural area, where the majority of my friends' families had large farms. We had a few horses, a couple of dogs, a bunch of barn cats, a barn, a vegetable garden, a pond with fish that we could fish in the summer and skate on in the winter (Canada here!). I used to envy that people lived in cities could walk to the local playground, pop over to their friends house across the street, ride their bicycle to the convenience store to get sweets. After living and working in the city now for almost a decade MAN do I miss country living. You guys are living a dream for so many people including me! I feel so lucky to have had the privilege to grow up where I did even though I didn't always really appreciate it fully at the time. I am so grateful that my mother still lives on the farm where I grew up and I can go there as often as I please (which over this pandemic has been every day I have off of work!). I just want to thank you so much for sharing this part of your life with me, it is always a highlight of my day when I see you have a new video!

I can appreciate exactly how you guys feel. I live on the Mediterranean Island of Cyprus. I to have a variety of fruit trees ie fig, orange, lemon, messpila, mandora, Mandarin, apple, pomegranate, apricot, papaya, olive and a just planted raspberry. The fragrance from the citrus trees is amazing and I will never tire of it This year I started a veggie patch and I love being able to walk out into the garden and pick my very own produce. The one thing we don't have, especially in the summer are rivers and lakes. I do have the sea a couple of minutes down the road.

Fernando should be totally chill in another 6 to 12 months. It took my twin cats, Hamish MacHavoc and Seamus MacMayhem, a good 12 to 18 months post neutering to settle down. In the meantime they had earned the names AssCat1 and AssCat2 . They still live up to those names from time to time, but overall are very sweet. When they do act up, my tortoise shell cat, SweetPea, puts them back in their places.

Better food than a lot of America... had better ham sandwiches in a tube station than I can buy locally and the Indian food. Our local Indian restaurant is good but there’s no variety. I loved the Chicken Katsu Curry from Wagamama, though I have the cookbook now. We’re just now getting more flavorful brick oven pizza restaurants. Ooh and fresh mince pies from Sainsbury.

Hi, just a note about stone houses and insulation. Ours was built in 1848 and the first few years we were freezing. No matter that the walls were almost 3 ft thick. Finally we insulated the walls internally and the difference was tremendous. We need to repoint our exterior and we are picking up tips from Theo. They sell here (Ireland) lime render which has cork in it, which gives the render an insulation value. I thought that might be something that would interest you.Regards Alaine

I absolutely agree with your strimmer comment! We have 1 acre in Orkney, just moved here in January, and borrowed a strimmer to get our side paddock under control. I have arthritis in my back, and a few hours strimming means I can't do ANYTHING for the following two days! It's taken about 3 weeks (including time off for bad weather and back healing time) and so far I've only cut about a quarter of the one paddock. There are two more!! Definitely need something better than a strimmer.

You have no idea how much I love Sunday mornings with you guys ( and kitties and chickens). I really enjoyed today’s, so diverse.
The lake was beautiful, so crystal clear. I am so happy the kitties are getting along better, makes for a much happier home. Can’t wait to see the floor when it is finished. Be safe❤️

Man, you are becoming a "proper" Portuguese. Love your videos, I am from Portugal, the center of it, in fact Viseu. I was raised always in the fields, since I was a baby. It's so good to me to see the whole standard looks of the portuguese scenery, including the truck and the tractor (typical hahah). Even tho I no longer do the farm life, I really want to go back to it - since I'm about to turn 32yo. And I've learned a lot from you guys! Thank you, hopefully one day we can meet. Cheers!

We had an orange orchard in our last property. As one orange tree went out of season the others came on, so my husband used to stand and eat multiple oranges too Theo. They were very mature trees and we miss them. ❤🐈‍⬛🐈🇦🇺

Just take a few minutes and take some of that grass that you cut mix it with the manure from the chicken co-op and make yourself a compost pile. By the time you're ready for a garden you'll have some nice compost to put on it. I don't know if you can have Guinea fowls in Portugal but if you could get yourself a couple of those than they will eat all your ticks, and let you know when something isn't right.

What a wonderful video! So much diversity between mowing, eating oranges, the chicks first outing and then wrapped up with a cold dip in the lake.

Have you thought about replacing your composting toilet with a biogas toilet? It's not something you can have in your van, but having land changes the game. By adding the plastic separater you use in the composting toilet, you'll save money on plant food when you start your garden. Urine and compost tea for the garden, and biogas for heating the shower.

We have a square log cabin in Ireland that is the same size 4x6 meters or 260 sq ft. We send 2-3 months at a time visiting our grandson and we find it quite comfortable. But we do have nice south facing windows and glass doors. Not sure how we would be comfortable with the cave aspect of your build. I do love the stone structure but I would consider a mainly glass door for more natural light. Your mezzanine looks amazing all that wood. Vulux has a large skylight that when open makes a deck that I think would of been grand off the mezzanine. Love watching.

I'm enjoying your videos. One suggestion- clean the base of Cactus plants and all the other fruit bearing plants. That may yield better as compost and manoeuvre goes directly into plants. Moreover your farm would look great without haphazard grown weeds. Little area every week may achieve a great result on a long run!

I know you are aware of the health issues with lime. But, I have seen quite a few folks who 's health have suffered because they didn't take the care they should have to keep the dust out of their lungs. So I wish you all the best with the mixing and the plastering. It will look fabulous. Your style is delightful to see.

I know it’s been stated many times but I am so impressed by all of your skills. Both of you. I’m sure you have run into frustrating situations that at times might cast a shadow on everything but as Lionel Richie said “Easy like Sunday morning”. That’s how I feel about you.
My life if full but when I get the notification another video is ready to watch I stop everything, make a nice latte and vicariously live through you. Thank you for all the beauty that you put forth. Deborah

Yes for Aubergines/Eggplants. Would be the first thing I would plant.... for my Babaghanouj. For the smell under the orange tree, that would wake up the dead. You must visit the south of Spain, Cordoba in Andalucia in Spring time to experience the smells in a totally different scale. Beautiful region If you've never been there, not too far from where you are in Portugal.
