Back when I played the old GH games when I was a lot younger, I had not heard of about 90% of the songs that were in the games and I was used to all of the cover versions of the songs. Now that I listen to metal 24/7, the covers don't even bother me because I listened to them all the time when I was younger.
I know what you're thinking "If this singer sings like he's trying to sing, it would be much more like A7X." You still have to give credit to that drummer who can drum like Rev.
This was my first introduction into Avenged. I was like only 5 and I didn't know what cover songs were yet. I loved this song and when I heard the original for the first time with Shadows voice and Gates guitar omg it was magical. I am 21 now and they are still my favorite band.
AlphaDragonn I've heard the original and singing sounds like he is shaking. But, really. This version's chorus is really a great part because he sounds fine compared Shadows. If they tried to be too much like A7X, what would this version be called?
@@LuigiTheMetal64 I cannot believe anyone could ever even say any part of this terrible cover is better than the song that arguably put avenged sevenfold where it is today. The way Shadows sings is the theme of the album, listen to the whole thing, it's just city of evil. Self-titled Shadows shows how great of a singer he is. The issue with the wavegroup singer is he has ZERO range... He can sing high somewhat, but his singing sucks pretty damn bad on the chorus. Still can't see why they used this cover, Shadows is a HUGE gamer and undoubtedly would've let Activision or Harmonix use the master track essentially for free lol. This cover is so bad, I am shocked A7X even allowed it in the game, I'll tell you right now, if I had never heard them before, this song wouldn't make me check them out.
Easily my favorite song to play on 2. It just had such a thrash feel through the starting grind that really tested your strumming and quick chords. But that chorus was your break and just had such a great tone that you vibed it hard while taking the nice easy single scales. It dragged you into the song so you didn't feel like you were just playing a game anymore.
seriously, why did they stop doing covers? it was so amazing, i know they where low budget and all but, i really prefered to play the game with covers, i think it was a better experience, since you'r playing with a band that plays covers, nohing like some covers to cover their covers up.
@@nu-agegamer3548 They were, but when you think about it, in the game you are a random ass cover band that plays at all these random gigs. Of course they'll sound like shit. It made more sense to have covers instead of the actual songs.

Pretty sure it's a drum machine, since there's no accents and the drums sound very "plastic"
You do realize that there are very talented musicians out there that can play almost identical if not better than the original artists?

This captures the song perfectly like the drums. WaveGroup made this cover as an appreciation to Rev.
The Rev was still alive when this game came out this game came out in 2006 and the Rev died in 2009 so I don't see why they would cover this in "appreciation" to the Rev
