The Gilson Soil Grinder is an efficient method for reducing agglomerations of caked soil to individual grains, and is much less labor-intensive than the manual mortar and pestle method, to preserve true grain size for accurate and repeatable test results.
The SA-45 grinder has a 1pint (0.473L) capacity stainless-steel hopper and lid, and features a manually operated gate to control the feed rate to the stainless-steel grinding chamber.
Operation is simple: just load the hopper, start the grinder from the in-line switch, and use the gate to control sample feed.
The included No. 10 (2.0mm) perforated stainless steel plate processes most soils in less than 30 seconds per pint. And the stainless steel contact parts reduce sample contamination between testing different samples.
The rugged and reliable direct-drive motor, and the grinding unit, are mounted on a sturdy steel tripod stand.
And the included No. 10 (2.0mm) perforated plates retain oversize particles, but No. 4 or No. 35 sized plates are available (SAA-22 No. 4 and SAA-24 No. 35) as alternates for your unique soil grinding needs, to make the Gilson SA-45 Soil Grinder the right choice for your materials testing lab.
