  • Performing a full tune-up and replacing the fuel lines on a Troy-Bilt TB525CS 4-cycle string trimmer. I replaced the air filter and spark plug and changed the oil. I also greased the trimmer head gearbox and the flex shaft. I cleaned the carburetor in a separate video ( • String Trimmer Carb Cl... ), which I highly recommend when replacing rotted fuel lines. The top port on the carb is the return line. The line below is the intake and will have the fuel filter on the other end. This procedure can be applied to perform a tune-up on most string trimmers. See the links below for the parts and tools I used:

What about the carburetor? Did you consider cleaning that? Why not?

I did end up cleaning the carb in a separate video: ruclips.net/video/G6noZ99bC4U/видео.html . I should have done it all at the same time because pieces of the old fuel line made it into the carb and, eventually, it started running poorly. Lesson learned. Thanks for watching!

Yes, I have the same trimmer and is also very reliable. Thanks for making this informative video. Never thought of greasing the spinning shaft.
