Underrated actor
this is what i scrolled down to write.
This dude is like the epitome of underappreciated, talented actor
Probably the most underrated
He was always a crook in every other film he’s been in!
Clive Owen one of the most underrated mothafuckers out there. Dude is an amazing actor.
So true, omG he is fantastic. Very kind & humble too
He's better than Nicolas Cage🤣
If you haven't seen Children of Men or Closer: feel free not to give your negative troll thoughts. This man is a goddamn legend and should be treated as such.
agreed.. children of men, incredible as it is, is given such depth by his performance
@@GrotesqueGardener Alfonso Cuarón didn't direct "Birdman". That was Alejandro González Iñárritu...
@N.Z. Storm Waverawesome opinion !!!
If you haven't seen Children of Men or Closer feel free to go to hell
Children of Men.....a classic. Period.👍🏾😃👍🏾
I don't think all people get the infleunce that David Bowie has had on people: actors, artists, musicians, drag queens, fashion designers - his loss is deeply felt.
Im an young artist. And man.. David bowie is almost an archetype
David was amazing in Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence and with Michelle Pfeiffer in into the Night, however the best film I ever saw with David was definitely the Man Who Fell To Earth, he was just an exceptionally talented artist.
I see ' David Bowie ' and I click.
Smart man, Owen, with good taste. Good actor as well.
This guy has always been highly underrated... Always seemed like a stand up dude ❤️
I effing love the Knick. One of his best roles.
He did one or two puddings as well , in the early years with Halle Berry and got naked with Saskia Reeves . But I love all those BMW Films !
i always thought Clive Owen was cool .Now we have confirmation .The best Bond that never was.
He did sort of play Bond in that Pink Panther cameo.
Him not being cast as Bond is a disgrace. It's like Christopher Reeve not being cast as Superman. He was born to play James Bond
@@Bladerunner-yd5lk agreed
@@Bladerunner-yd5lk I believe he refused the role.
Interview is too short. This guy is so low key, yet very interesting. Great actor.
Agreed, would love to have heard more. I've been a fan of his for years but I think this is the first time I've seen him on the TV talk circuit. Colbert brings out the best in this kind of guest.
Always lovely to see Clive Warren
Still a hunk Clive! I ain’t ashamed to say it, loved you in King Arthur and Greenfingers!
Omg I love this man so handsome and aging gracefully
Disagree. The dyed hair makes him look less handsome and seem a bit pathetic.
@@JJ21210 I'm not even sure that stuff on top is actually his.
I'm so glad that Stephen mentioned The Knick along with other great work that Clive Owen's done. That show was criminally underrated.
His laugh is perfect for Clinton. Clive will have fun with that role.
He was great in The Inside Man
That was brilliant! My favourite film starring him. It was the superb "battle" between him and Denzel Washington which made it great.
Gosford Park was fabulous in part because of Clive. He is brilliant. Thank you David Bowie for inspiring Clive.
I loved him in the TV series Chancer... that was brilliant.
Yes, that’s (Chancer) where I first saw him-juicy business drama :)
Clive owen is one of the most underrated actors of our time!
By far one of my favourite actor! Love all his films
Wow, it's been a while Clive we missed you .
I can totally relate....I met Bowie once, and I truly couldn't speak either. Nothing would come out, like my throat was swollen shut or something. Freaky feeling. I almost threw up and passed out. What a memory! BTW...he was such a polite man, he was bemused by my predicament, but was surely used to fans having this reaction, and he still talked to me and joked about the weather....trying to put me at ease. Sigh....sorry.....yes, Clive is a wonderful actor!!
I love Clive Owen... I watch whatever he chooses to play... a great actor !... :D
Hey, it's Clive Warren.
Hahaha. Karl brought me here.
I thought the same immediately
Haha - I was hoping someone had posted this...
Quick, get me Clive Warren!!!
@@KieranFuller17 and rebecca de mornay
How about him in all the BMW Films shorts. Those were sweet as hell with him as The Driver.
Jeff S particularly the Madonna one
Love him
Still super handsome!!
Every time I see him I think of Chancer. Don’t know if it would hold up if I rewatched it, but it has a tiny place in my heart ❤️
thought I might be the only person to remember that series...he was mesmerising in it..loved his work ever since
Pete Andrews lol, well meet your mate 🤣 Agreed, very charismatic in it and I’d hoped he’d be bond just because of that role alone.
I miss David Bowie everyday 💔
The Knick ! I became a fan of his straight after , what an amazing role !
A darling man his family should be so proud of him. I love David Bowie as well. Just delightful.
This should have been longer. I like his character.
Mr. Clive Owen, you have all my respect and strong admiration for the person you are and for the roles you've played, but your character like Dr. Thackery on The Knick it's definitely a masterpiece, a real gem because your interpretation, without underestimate the incredible work of the rest of the team. Missing Knick! Thank you Clive and keep going! Greetings from Spain.
I became a fan of his after seeing the film Croupier. I think he is one of the most underrated actors, and yes, he would be a great James Bond.
he would have been a great Bond. at 55, not any more
@@istvansipos9940 I agree.
Amazing movie and he was perfect
@@linanehme8084 Hey Lina, are you the Lina who wrote "Fatwas et Caricatures"? Great book!
@@zHumanfactor nope not me...I am a reader not a writer :-)
He went to a school down the road from my school in Coventry City. We're the same age man I feel old :D
He is my biggest crush!! My ideal husband LOL!! OH lord I am dying and beard my weakness. Such a classy man and above all no social media. I love you Clive!! Most underrated actor. My forever James Bond.
He looks so much like my Dad right there that I expect him to scream at me to shovel the driveway.
Other people's comments: what an underrated actor! 😍😍😍
My comment: my, new roast material for TwoSet Violin! 😏🎻🔥
Hahaha, he must have practiced 40 hours a day. Love those guys.
just came here to check if anyone had written this comment yet
Same!!!
he's still a beautiful man
Clive Owen, so classy.
His acting in Closer was unbelievable! He stole that film!
Are we not gonna talk about stay humans intro music?! Batiste yelling 😂😂
No. We're not.
I have noticed that actors that have amazing eyes seem to connect with me more than others who haven't. Clive Owen, Al Pacino, Leo Dicaprio, Robert Redford, Paul Newman to name but a few.
Came for the Clive Owen... and stayed for the Clive Owen.
The miming on the violin is rather good. My Dad was an orchestral player on the viola, so I grew up surrounded by string players. I think he would approve.
I don't exactly know why I have always had a passive response towards Mr. Owens(generally speaking). Then I see him in a roll completely expecting nothing good to come of it, and I get kinda charmed and pleasantly surprised by his performances. From his role in King Arthur, Children of Men to Shoot M Up, showing his range from portraying a Legendary Figure, to a Dystopian Survivor all the way to Comedic Adventure Lead. And in all those roles, he under played it, allowing the writing and critical timing to come through. Like a true chameleon, he disappears into his rolls until you only see the character and not the actor. Time to watch more of his film library I think...
If Children of Men isn't in your top 10 then you have no soul.
Still remember him in children of men. That film hits you deep..great actor.
i once walked past him in a bar in Prague. he was coming in the door, and I was going out, and i totally didn't notice!! my friend who had stayed behind at the bar told me later that i'd walked by him. ggrr! He's such a great actor. Even in his small role in Bourne Identity he was great
I can't wait to see THE SONG OF NAMES, brillant
@Khain Closer has always been a fave of mine, featuring, yes you're right A LEGEND
beautiful calm interview, maybe it is Clive's voice or maybe it is Stephen's energy
Mr. Owen makes me live.
First memory I have of seeing Clive Owen was a film most haven't seen, called "Croupier". I don't remember it well, only that I liked it & his love interest was Alex Kingston. Check it out, if you notice it anywhere.
Agreed Eric S, "Croupier" is a great little fun movie, think it was the first time I saw him?
Then I noticed him in one or two other movies, and I said to myself why is this guy not playing James Bond?
He's a great actor!
two set violin needs to take a look at this.
the first chunk of violin playing before the cut was really good for film... the other parts less so, but, vibrato, running around the fingerboard...pretty good mate:)
Very attractive man. Very good actor and looks like nice fella. Keep up givin us good movies sir.
Bellisimo! excelente actor 😍😍
He looks like the original illustrations of James Bond 007, he should play him.
It was considered after Croupier, in which he demonstrated ample charisma, acting chops, and the ability to look fabulous in a tuxedo, but I think Owen decided he didn't want to get typecast or stuck with a series.
@@serendipityshopnyc - Actually Guy Pierce would have been my first choice over Greig for all this time. But, it is a bit like playing Dr. Who, if you've done more than one. or two... :)
@@tomasinacovell4293 Craig, not Greig. I do think Daniel Craig does a fine job in the role, blond or not. Conveys the coiled dangerousness of 007 better than most.
Ughh!! Love him!
No politicians down handshake from Steven . Thanks Steven . Thankyou
I must find out what kind of men’s face scrub he uses......he looks terrific!😃👍🏾
What a voice! And that laugh.... charming
He needs a proper comeback. He had amazing roles in the early 2000s and then it kinda died out, in terms of really interesting projects.
Great actor.
Damn I credit david bowie because I’m still alive even tho he’s not, his work, words is still with me, somehow I feel better
I talked too much bye
This man's performance in _Children of Men_ was _legendary_ which is legendary in _itself_ as a movie. It's surprising that it didn't do better at the box office.
King Arthur still his best film 🏇
Finally a Man worth Killing
..dont miss "The International".
His portrayal of a dignified death is unforgettable and outstanding in 'Bourne Identity'
One of my favorite actors.
Legend and Underrated
I loved Clive in Beyond Borders and Elizabeth:The Golden Age. Great actor.
Mr Owen is here by invited to drink tea with me .
He is soooooo hansome. And a great great actor and I have major respect for him and his wife xxx Gigi Molenkamp the Netherlands
Inside Man is fantastic. He is very good, story very clever.
Recently re-watched "Gosford Park" and "Greenfingers"; he's very good in each, the latter film also starred the late, great David Kelly!
I remember him mostly from THE BOURNE IDENTITY (2002) (Bourne uses a shotgun on him in a cornfield) as "The Professor" as Arthur Pendragon in KING ARTHUR (2004) which featured Keira Knightley (of the Pirates of the Caribbean fame) as Guinevere (actually "Gwenhwyfar" "White Shadow") and for Frank Miller's SIN CITY in which he played "Dwight" so masterfully. I must have been impressed by him as all three movies have become part of my permanent collection. 😁
He played the best Arthur!
My favorite actor ever👍
Small town, Clive? Coventry's a city, mate! 😅
imagine Clive attempting the Arkansas accent?! wow i bet he pulls it off.
I liked him in all his films but really liked Inside Man, and Beyond Boarders - really great actor.
The Knick, and Clive Owen in the Knick, are amazing.
He's from Coventry, same as me!
King Arthur 2004 "Finally a Man worth Killing"
BMW films with Madonna was one of the best skits I’ve ever seen!
Should have mentioned Bent. Great role.
He was SO good in that film!
I really want to hear what his actual playing sounded like before they dubbed it.
What a nice guy.
He is such a talented actor , Just watched Lisey's Story.
My man crush forever!
Love him
I fell in love with him as an actor in Closer, in a scene where he loathingly interrogates his cheating wife and tries to get answers to every angry, question a scorned spouse always thinks they want to know (but is better off not knowing, like 1000%). After that energy, the scene comes to an end, and he calms himself, looks at her directly in the eye and says, "Good. Now fuck off and die."
First time I actually encountered Clive Owen was in a video game!
Oh my goodness gracious! 😘
after watching this I can actually get why he was cast as Clinton, looking forward to seeing that project
A great actor, CLIVE OWEN,
Underrated actor.
Clive Warren in Mission Impossible 10 with Bryan's brain, in Tom Cruises body with Rebecca De Mornay!
Fun fact: Stephen Colbert and Clive Owen are born the same year.
If he'd trained till the beard got that big he would've become a real violinist
Expected him to be Bond. He would have been fantastic!
Clive Warren!!
🙌 exactly what i thought 🤣
Inside man is my favorite movie he’s in
Two set should review the movie.
