To answer your question, the dad is played by Eugene Levy, the son, is played by Dan Levy, and yes they’re real life father & son, they also co-created + wrote the show together.. the actress that plays Twyla the waitress is Sarah Levy, Dan’s sister & Eugene’s daughter.
I think alexis has the best character arc and is my fave by the end but i think david has some of the best moments/storylines and moira 100% gets the best lines

Omg I remember that I binged the first season in no time! I loooooved how quick and funny the episodes were but also the fact that they constantly develop the characters. My favorite in this season is David too, and I think my top 3 doesn't change a lot until season 3: David, Stevie and Alexis. And you were right! Eugene and Dan Levy are father and son irl, they also created the show, are producers and occasional writers on it! You are gonna have a fun ride 😩👊🏼

David, in my opinion, has the best arc of the whole show. Alexis’ arc is great too. And you’re right, it was 6 seasons and is completed. And it ended perfectly. 😊

I was a bit worried because that’s happened with so many shows but naturally Dan Levy (who plays David and who was the show runner for the show after he created it with his dad) didn’t let us down. I will say that the show gets significantly better after the first season and they really find their groove from season 2 on.
I didn't get around to commenting on this when I first watched it (shortly after it was uploaded) but I'm here now!! When I saw this video I was SO EXCITED lol. Schitt's Creek is one of my favorite shows, and I know you're going to LOVE IT! And yeah, I agree - sometimes it's just a relief to have 20 minute episodes xD.
