@@Pollo.a.la.crema.should have seen it either in theatre, here at the Oliviers or at the cinema. Proud to say I did all 3 (2x theatre, 1 x oliviers and 1x cinema) and everytime they made me cry
The cast recording was recorded before the Broadway run. During the Broadway preview, Steven Stater (book and lyricist) changed some of the lyrics, including The Song of Purple Summer, and removing all Ships and Pirates references since they replaced There Once was a Pirate with The Guilty Ones
@@rbishop95 I love the entire score, but this song, for me is a complete standout. The harmonies and beautiful blend of the voices, the lyrics, the arrangement. Everything.
@@rbishop95 in your opinion, but in the view of many others (myself included) this is a beautiful and powerful song, and was perfect for the Oliviers. Sorry you need lots of swearing and an up-beat tempo to be able to enjoy music, but I’m afraid you’re on your own there
Now we beg for proshot version full show 🥰
We BEG!!!
WE BEG!!!!!
it's a constant struggle 😩
Ha well
@@andrewdawson1715 YOOOOOOO. Now I can inflict trauma on all my friends 🥰
I love the cadence of her intro. So powerful the slower pace.
Saw this at the Almeida in January, criminally underrated production, brilliantly staged and extremely well performed!
I did too. it was phenomenal. wished i could've seen it twice! this performance really doesnt do it justice
@@DavidMChannelI disagree, this is one of my favourite songs from the show, and I had serious chills from this performance 🥰
Such an amazing production, amazing cast! Wish I could see it again!
YAAASSSS!!!!
That was phenomenal Isle has an incredibly interesting voice!
Cast list: Carly-Sophia Davies (Ilse), Laurie Kynaston (Melchior), Amara Okereke (Wendle), Nathan Armarkwei-Laryea (Hanschen), Asha Banks (Thea), Kit Esuruoso (Otto), Bella Maclean (Martha), Joe Pitts (Georg), Maia Tamrakar (Anna), Stuart Thompson (Moritz) and Zheng Xi Yong (Ernst)
I saw it twice. Stuart Thompson broke my heart into a million pieces.
I need to plan a trip to London to see this. My fave of all time.
Sadly it closed in January, was a very limited run
beautiful rendition
Often times I feel like west end casts kill it better than us here in that states...
And whenever that appears to be the case, often times it's at least partially due to their Shakespearean training and traditions.
@@danielhennell3418 I feel in general London has better actors but NY has better singers :)
@@TheTradgei second this
Honestly they are technically there but the passion was missing

I wish I got to see that production. Love the look of it!
west end transfer west end transfer 🙏🙏
Please please, this is the most amazing musical I've ever seen. Please do Totally Fucked, it was the BEST choreography of all versions of this song
So fucking true!!!
Love to see more diversity in the casting here, yes
Desperate to watch this 😍😍 Though they changed it a bit from the soundtrack didn't they?
The first solo section has always been in the show just not the soundtrack
@@callumbowyer1043 But like the lyrics of the chorus are also different

@@wdrh03 Oh cool thanks for the help! They definitely need an updated soundtrack, I love it so much, it's just never on for long to go watch it though
NOW TRASNFER 🧙🏻♀
Enjoyable but not a patch on the 2009 production starring Aneurin Barnard, Charlotte Wakefield and Iwan Rheon.
Lol this is the most boring song in the musical, why did they pick this one to perform?
Probably so they didn’t have to censor anything 😂
Are you serious? This is the most beautiful song in the show.
@@matthewgoddard9631 Its boring. My Junk, Totally Fucked, the Guilty Ones, Mama Who Bore Me are all far superior
