Another day in Hawaii and another day of exploration and eats! Thank you to everyone who reached out and recommended great places to try and visit... including Hawaii's best buffet at the Orchids restaurant. And today I get to visit their Sunday brunch buddet. This seafood buffet is highly sought after and I was lucky enough to get a reservation due to a last-minute cancellation.
Having been to so many restaurants, all of which were very good, I can't wait to see how the Orchids buffet can top the others, but happy to find out... it certainly did not disappoint with the immaculate Seafood stations, into the savory carvery featuring prime rib and lechon. and to guild the lily further, fresh got ramen and probably the best dessert offerings I've seen in Hawaii.
And as always, having a great meal is wonderful but it's the people you meat during the travels that makes things special... and is was no exception. Very fortunate to have met Gina and David who were celebrating their anniversary...and they were gratious enough to invite me to a luau they were hosting... so after one buffer adventure, we're off to another one...please join me for part 2!

Last time we ate at Orchids for the brunch was 7 months ago and at the time many of the items were still self serve. Now I see that they serve you everything. Prior to Covid, other than the omelet and carving stations, you would be serving yourself and the selections were much more extensive than it is now. What you really have at Orchids, that make it worthwhile, is the setting and the service. Outstanding!! The food itself it really good but there are other brunches on Oahu that equal it for just the food.
Can't beat Orchids for Sunday brunch. The food, service and ambiance can't be beat!!

True, I’d rather serve myself cuz that lady touched her mask few times n touch the plate n served him & the guy used his bare fingers to pick up seafood for him... not very hygienic in my opinion🤔

I don’t know where you fit it all 😂. Everything looked delicious, and even proper popovers with the roast and gravy! I wish I could do more than one plate… I never try buffets because I just can’t eat enough to make it worthwhile
The Prince hotel in Honolulu also has an incredibly good Sunday buffet - if it is still open since covid.

We had made a reservation for Orchids but cancelled it to go to a local Sunday market in Kapolei instead. So glad you were able to go to Orchid’s and share it with us. Now we’re definitely going to make another reservation and go for sure the next time!! Everything looked delicious!! Was wondering when we would see you wear the shirt you bought that night we saw you!! It definitely matched the brunch occasion!! 🙌🏽👍🏽

@@TimLeeLetsGo Aloha Tim, we left Arizona for better weather…wrong. Maui is currently having unusual heat wave with high humidity, but it should end this Friday and we are not leaving until next Friday. Looks like the rest of the time will be good weather. No exotic fruits in the fall season…bummer. We did get to pick wild guava when we went zip line.

I think it's the best buffet I've had so far...so many stations and stellar desserts. I agree... considering everything in Waikiki is priced higher, it's quite worthwhile 😋

If you liked Orchids now, too bad you weren't able to try it pre Covid. Back then it was absolutely amazing!! We have eaten here many times both before and after Covid. It is still very good but like I said, pre Covid it really was amazing!! Nothing compared at that time. It is really too bad that everything has changed since but that is the way life is now.
Have you ever considered a 2nd channel Tim for scenery. I bet you could get a sponsorship.

I love Halekulani. My first stay was 1997 they picked us up in airport with rolls-Royce. There was no check ins. They just escort you up…

What I did not like about this Buffet the portion of protein very small how much time you go back and get I know it is all you can but that's both it did not really impress me but I have to see say the Roman look really good
