    ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: How To Fix Dog's Glands
    What your dog needs is something that you can add to their food that will do the job of expressing the glands to release and empty them on a daily basis returning your dog to its natural state and behavior.
    Switching your dog over to a diet of raw meaty bones has proven very effective but may not be an option for you. So what else can you do?
    Well, I’m getting a LOT of great feedback on a natural product with many dog owners reporting the fiber in this USA made dried apple and pumpkin digestive is getting their dogs anal glands working again normally by firming up stools.
    You simply add it to your dogs meals and dog owners report that their dogs love the flavor.
    My advice is to pre-mix it with water if your adding to kibble so your dog gets more moisture. The more moisture you get into your kibble fed dog the better.
    If serving dry as a topper, make sure to have plenty of fresh drinking water available. And I'll leave a link to the product in the description below.
    For longer term health and wellbeing for your dog and to resolve blocked anal glands ongoing without changing your current kibble diet I created the Healthier Kibble Diet as part of my ebook Feed Your Dog Better to help kibble feeding dog owners reclaim their dogs health from the persistent health problems like blocked anal glands that plague so many dogs.

    Hi is this good to treat Perianal Fistula

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Месяц назад +1

      No it wont, sorry.
      Surgery is often needed to treat anal fistulas as they do not usually heal by themselves. There are several different procedures. The best option for your dog will depend on the position of the fistula and whether it's a single channel or branches off in different directions. Your vet will know more about this.
      I'd definitely want to keep it clean so there's no infection causing an abscesses. I'd consult with your vet and budget for possible surgery. Anal fistulas usually require surgery as they rarely heal if left untreated. The main options include: a fistulotomy - a procedure that involves cutting open the whole length of the fistula so it heals into a flat scar.

    Ugh we’ve done all this. Raw diet. Pumpkin etc. My Pom has always had perfect stools and yet she’s plagued by gland issues. I’m thinking it may be in part due to her knee issues. Forgot what it’s called right now(??) And now they’re so blocked that the vet can’t even empty one of them! She’s also in CHF for almost a year ,currently on meds.
    I’m at my wits end as to what todo . Now they brought up surgically removing the glands. Which to me is out of the question with her age (11) and her CHF. The funny thing is she’s not scooting excessively or going back there much at all. She actually does quite well until we take her in for the squeezing. I just don’t know what to do. I’m afraid if I give her anymore fiber content she’ll become constipated and that’s not good either.

    Hi Dan, I am new to your channel… and was hoping you could help me. My 4 year old chihuahua mix keeps needing to have her anal glands expressed every month on the dot. Idk what else to do to help prevent this. She eats her kibble and I haven’t changed her diet so I am not sure why this is now a reoccurring issue. She never had any issues before. I’m so desperate, any help would be great!

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Год назад +3

      You'll need a two pronged approach here. First is diet, it needs fresh foods in it, not just dry food. And two, you'll need to poultice the glands, get them unblocked, so they can resume normal release with a more fresh food diet helping to squeeze them at each evacuation.
      The poultice how to is in the video and here's some diet advice plus supplements etc: Start the diet now, slowly and small to begin with, go gradually, then start the poultice.
      If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better but not essential.
      If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
      Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables and freeze dried greens.
      Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/UTI's/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
      If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!).
      Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble.
      By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks.
      Some must do's:
      Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination)
      If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
      Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
      Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
      NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..

    Very interesting! I have the issue that my raw fed dog was constipated for the past 2 days and when he was finally able to poop today I noticed that the right side of his rectum is swollen. He started licking it and you can see it bothers him! Colloidal silver in his drinking water, cbd, probiotics…but what could I do to get rid of the inflammation? Diluted Oil of oregano on the affected area? Thank you so much Dan!
