This is going to save me blood, sweat and tears. When using a rotary cutter I somehow always manage to cut myself and because I take blood thinners I bleed a lot. This is going to save me a litre or 2 of blood so thanks for this, Julie.
Why does the other RUclipsr who use this too, but she has to put another cutting mat underneath the original one in order to can cut it smoothly or else it is It's not a bad cut.
Oh I’m not sure on that one. You should use it like you would use a separate ruler and rotary cutter. One mat, one ruler combo it’s simple no need to complicate it!
@@sharonparrott8345 if you use the ruler to measure then it is 1 1/4 inches but if you use the cutting mat to measure then you can cut it as small as you like
This ruler is really nice but Fiskars doesn't know how to market their product and make it convenient for the customer. I have this product. It has no instructions on how to use it. It has no cover for the blade underneath which could cut someone. I have to loosen the screw on the cutter and turn the round plastic rotary under the blade when not using for safety. There is no instruction on blade changing either, which is why we have to seek out people like you to find out how to use this product. It was unknown to me that I would have to bear down on it to cut material. I thought all I had to do was push the knob forward and cut the material. I I almost returned it until someone showed me how to use it. Also, the ruler would be a big help if it had markings for 1/4" and 1/2". They need to improve their product.
Hi Katie, thanks for getting in touch. Great to hear you like this ruler, I love mine! I think the reason that the blade has no cover underneath is that it isn’t exposed until you apply pressure to it but if you are concerned then your solution certainly is an option, thanks for sharing. There are instructions for changing the blade on the back of the packaging of the blade changing tool but I’m not sure about the original packing for the combo ruler. As regards the 1/4” and 1/2” markings, they only start from the 1 & 1/4 which can be frustrating for sure. RUclips is such a helpful resource , I’ve learnt so much from making my videos and from watching others. Happy cutting!
I absolutely love mine!
I know right! I rarely use anything else.
Geeze! I wish this thing came with written directions!! But if I can learn to use it I know I will love it!!!!❤❤
You’ll never go back!
This will safe a lot of time thanks for the instructions. You were great at explaining the use of the ruler.
Many thanks for watching Jo Ann 👍🏼

length is not long enough. some people have to make long-clothes, and they will have a little trouble.
This is true. I know some people use rotary cutters for dressmaking but I’m old school and use scissors, always have.

Mine has markings for 1/2 inch and little dashes for 1/4. I love this cutter.
