The display board was covered in it, I did some artwork on top of the pages, a friend crafted bookmarks, and another one did small notebooks with dyed pages. Our name tags were done like that as well. The school report was way too difficult to print on our paper so I just pasted the regular A4 sheets on top of the handmade ones, and added colored borders. It was a big labor of love and inspiration, honestly. We had planned to sell some of the stuff but became too attached in the end. I would totally do it again!
Ossifragant Peony that sounds really cool! Did it take long? And how long did it take to make a single piece of paper? And did you bleach it? Oh and did you use used paper?
@@senselesspotato6950 It took me a day per sheet of paper, just letting them dry under the sun, but it took me that long because my pages were MASSIVE, somewhere along the default poster size. My other friends did smaller batches and could do multiple pages at once, then left them under the sun. We didn't bleach them, I would sometimes clean the pulp with soap, but apart from that our pages looked really unique with all the dye, pressed flowers and small scraps of text. All of the paper used was recycled, we left a giant box for people in our class to dump their old schoolwork there, and then on our free time in school we would sit down and cut them into smaller pieces and dump them into separate bags for us to take home.
@Bloo OwO Can't imagine it would be that cheap considering the time spent on hand pressing each sheet. I'm testing it out myself though, and then I hope to expand to recycling paper for friends!
I used to love doing this! A great way to speed up the drying/processing time, is to transfer your paper in between two pieces of fabric, instead of the plastic sheet, and then run an iron over the paper sandwich. Dries in seconds, and is less labour/time intensive. Great video!

that's how tons of paper are recycled every year, you throw out your cardboard or paper fallout into a special trash bag and it gets recycled (at least in europe)
I graduated high school in September and I still have, not even exaggerating, hundreds or worksheets. I can't burn them, because I live in Australia and my area has a total fire ban. So I'm gonna do this.

to construct it from the very beginning. I shall gather twigs, rocks, etc, and get wood. A will use this wood to create my frames. Ill use the sharp rock to shape it. I will go to tbe lake, with my bucket (made from clay i found out and about) and get some water for my paper. To make the paper, we grind up the paper with the stick, and we gather sheep. We grow and love the sheep, using their wool to create fabric, and soon, the checkers pattern. We create everything, it is finally done. We have truly made a from scratch diy
*you grind up the wood with the rock to make the pulp, and with the pulp you make the paper. You use the grass to weave it into a narrow lattice like pattern for your screen to hold the paper...that or string from the wool of the sheep.
I remember this kid who got grass and tried to make paper for his project. Yo it looked like a mix between the stuff at playgrounds on the floor and dried seaweed. It was awesome.
I love that no matter how crazy the process was it turned out to be really organic and I think there is definitely an art to making custom papers by hand . it makes me wonder if this is similar to how watercolor paper is made :)
Oh man, after a long day of being socially awkward around family, watching your video was a great way to relax. If you celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a good one. I might just make some recycled paper cards for next year's Christmas cards! Maybe with some pine needles and ornaments? Aye?

one of the best diy videos on yt and idk i felt inspired to fill up more of my quote wall with some diy paper, after the holidays i'm trying these! (if i do one day before Christmas eve, my mom will kick me out of the house for making a mess)
Took a paper making class during my art degree! Ended up with googly eyes and glitter in one series... so rad - this takes me back! Thanks for experimenting & sharing this adventure - that's rad too :)
I’m going to do this for business cards but I’m going to use old random papers I’ve collected and rags to dry it, there’s really no need to use single use anything

Sooo i let them dry so I could reuse them.. then i eventually switched over to a real towel. Also if you wanted you could use the paper towels to make more pulp.. 😘
Анастасия Никитина He did that in the video. Also if you’re so concerned about making paper with paper, the traditional method of making paper involves plant cellulose from trees. This isn’t counterproductive or wasteful.

We made paper this way months before the thing was officially announced, so everything was on handmade paper (the display, our report) it was... wild

As do many drug dealers, turning drugs into paper 💵
WHY ISNT THERE A COMPANY IN WHICH YOU CAN SEND IN YOUR OLD PAPERS TO AND THEN THEY WOULD CHARGE YOU little FOR A CUTE RECYCLED NOTEBOOK?????? ugh.
We shall make one lol
@Bloo OwO Can't imagine it would be that cheap considering the time spent on hand pressing each sheet. I'm testing it out myself though, and then I hope to expand to recycling paper for friends!

lol i’m watching this video cuz i thought that would be a good idea and i needed to know how to make paper for it
That’s actually a pretty good idea for an Etsy shop

That’s genius!!
Is the paper actually sturdy enough to write on (a full hallmark card for examples)? Or Do you just recommend ink stamping something simple on?
I came here for the paper, stayed for the downward spiral into insanity

Lmao tru
True

The pine needle and ornaments could be really cool for a Christmas card
I thought the same 😂
I thought so too but I’d just use some red glitter, it would work the same without having to destroy ornaments
GeminiStargazer i am constantly dropping ornaments so this could be a way to still use them if they’re broken???
so truueee@@sav9207
Except for the fact that they are tiny glass shards in your paper, doesn't seem all that safe? red glitter would be just as pretty! xp
How to turn paper into paper

Aaron D well if u can use the paper for something else why not right !
that's how tons of paper are recycled every year, you throw out your cardboard or paper fallout into a special trash bag and it gets recycled (at least in europe)
Sara Thunderfuck i think he was talking about the paper towels
Rosario Fernandez no, the guy used regular paper to make the paper by blending it
I thought you said 'so metal'.
oh gosh, youre so underrated

Ayyyye 🙌🏻🙌🏻 what are you going to do with the paper you make?
Shmoxd I was probably gonna make some art with it, but possibly make notebooks and sell the excess? I really do think there will be a ton of it

Dude sick that's exactly what I'm doing
burn it anyway
