The assembly process belt installation is different than this The fact of the matter is that when the bolts are not fastening the head to the table you can tip the head and lower the hand wheel and simply slip the belt on and then install the bolts into the table..
I had a not rotating belt when and took my machine (cobra 26) apart as you directed and got the Problem fixed. But now the stitch length is out of wake, very small tight stitches when set on 3 have to turn it up to 5 or 6 to get a close to 3 stitch. What did I do wrong in the put together part of this ??
Press down on the reverse lever and rotate the stitch length adjustment knob. Do a test stitch and determine the stitch length. The larger the number the longer the length. The numbers are only reference they do not indicate anything other than the position on the dial. So, the longer stitch the larger the number. The class 26 is a compound feed sewing machine so stitch length is affected by how thick the material is. The thicker the leather the shorter the stitch will be at any given position on the dial. So, you would have to adjust the stitch length for the thickness of the leather. I hope that makes sense.
Hi Al Another problem sorry. Sometimes my machine get stuck with like a growling sound? Then I have too turn it off. It's start and here again get stuck with a E-5 on the motor screen? Any idea? Thanks
Thank you for all of the helpful tips!
Yep, just like a bike chain. I never knew having a crappy bike as a kid would help me fix my 26. 😝
Hi Al! I was looking for this video yesterday when I was putting my New Cobra 26 together lol
