Hi. Yes, Id love to see a video about your finances. It did actually cross my mind recently, wondering how you get by financially. I know you have your maps business, but it would be nice to hear more about the financial side of life x
Thanks for taking us along for a beautiful scenic bike ride, I loved it. Lets hope council or Govt help with some road repairs on the journey, the look like they need some maintenance. The shelves looks great. Thanks Mum & Dad. 😀❤🚴♀🐨🦘🍀
HI Kirsty, big up your mum n dad for getting you a new camera n always supporting you. The sound seemed loads clearer 👍 I just love all the stuff you do to your wee home. So unique, n you're putting soo much love n time into every project. Have a great weekend ❤
@PortugalfromScratch That's why I really enjoy your channel. You're not about rushing projects for views n ending up with burn out like other channels do. Keep doing you 👍❤️
To say that I’m impress it’s an understatement!! Adding the shelves to the wall is a brilliant idea!! Be sure you add enough!! I’m sure that you will find beautiful pots etc to put on them!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Happy early Birthday! The camera is a lovely gift. The closet will be beautiful when it's done. Really the whole house is looking fabulous. Probably the work shop will be best done with your Dad helping. It's heavy work putting up a building. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦
Thank you to your mom and dad for the new camera. I love the artistic touches to your home. Would I watch a video about your finances? Yes, but I will continue to watch your videos without the financial info, too. The bike ride was so relaxing to watch.
Oh such an exciting video. I loved the stone shelf. Didn't that turn out so well? LOVED the bike ride. Then, when you opened your package, I said to myself I hope it's a sound thing. and it was! The difference is so goood. Thank you Mum and Dad, see you soon. My husband loves that you use Japanese saws as he has both the same as you. He just said he still has a problem cutting straight but he does great projects so you'd never know. I finally watched Part 2 about your life. Oh boy, you have done sooo much, seen so many places and learned so many skills. I have really enjoyed this video. Thank you.
Yes the Japanese saws are so good but they can wobble a bit so some cuts can be tough. The ones with the solid back are better for getting started. I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
What a lovely video this week. Thanks for sharing your bike ride … what a beautiful part of Portugal you live in ❤I love watching you and your many projects. Thank you x
Kirsti, your new camera is awesome. The picture is so clear along with audio. What a cool pre birthday present. Thanks mom and dad. Would be interesting to learn about the financial aspect of living off grid. Well done on the shelves and stone shelf.
Kirsty, is looking amazing👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Your hard work & the perfection you apply to all your jobs and finishes is amazing! New GoPro is fabulous and yes, I would love a video sharing & chatting to us about the finances coupled with your off grid lifestyle 🤗🤗🤗
Your inside (home) is looking amazing. It hasn’t been an easy journey, working on which space to work on. I love the fact that you are getting your personal home more beautiful and comfortable. It will make your life so much better knowing you can come home to a comfortable space. Well done.
Oh, i love the bike ride so much. Context of your surroundings is really great. I'm watching you lime the stones right now thinking how much easier it must be doing something flat instead of upright for a change. They look so good 👍 😍 loving the shelves for the wall and that you are doing holes for air and light patterns instead of bottles. Probs better for the solar too. The view of geature wall, stove and the clay wall and stones is mind blowing the changes you've made Kirsty ❤
Your parents are amazing, Kirsty! The sound and video after gift is wonderful. I figured you knew about the sound as you review in editing. You've got a great group of friends in Portugal, Kirsty. Obviously, you're one of them. The wall design sounds really nice. Everything is coming together. Good for you!! Have a great few days. Best, Angela
Hi Kirsty! The sound is much better! I love to hear you blab on any topic! 😂👍 a finances video sounds great to me! The rock top on the wall looks really nice. Watching you put the cob on the walls is so satisfying. Looks like a fun job
Great job! The stone shelf looks great, as do the little shelves. Pointing seems like it might be a zen therapeutic exercise. Thanks mom and dad for the new camera!! Hugs from 🇨🇦
It’s such a joy to see you work. You have an easy pace but a happy feeling when you are creative. Your place is looking really nice. Well done with all these projects. Also we are learning about building things we never heard of before.
Awhh…so sweet and what an amazing gift. Kirsty you have such a wonderful vision. The shelves, cob, and stone top is turning out beautifully. You are going to have so much to show your parents when they arrive.
Hi Kirsty 👋😀 Thank you Mum and Dad for an awesome early Birthday present it works beautifully 😁 Love the stone shelf and loving the little shelves a really good idea 😊 If you are happy to share that information I am sure it will be an interesting video 😊 Everything is coming together wonderfully now in the house and it is starting too look much more like a home 🥰
Kirsty - that whole wall area is a piece of art. You are going to have a beautiful and very unique home when you are finished. It s all coming together quickly too!! I can t wait to see how you build your shed. Mine needs to be replaced or at least new walls, roof, window and door framing. and I m going to watch you then ask my son,if he has the time, if maybe the two of us could do a total repair job on the one I have. Thanks again for your videos. I absolutely love them and often listen to them first while I m busy with my chores around here but when I can I ll then watch them. Never disappoints!
Thank you! I'm so happy with how it's all coming together! I want to make the house a work of art in some ways. 🙂 The shed should be interesting... I finally have the sand so hopefully I'll get going on that again next week!
Your editing skills have gone up a notch since your last video update included (especially the task completion parts). Lots of footage recording and cuts required, so a fair amount of work, but the end product is very polished and highly enjoyable to watch as we still learn through the process.
Love your progress! You have been such an inspiration to me, so thank you. I would love to see a little shelf/ perch for Larry and Mikey to snuggle up on as it’s near the wood burner and nice and cosy. Keep up the wonderful videos and yes I can really notice a difference in sound and picture quality.
Yes indeed, the ride was great and I’m sure that you will enjoy the go pro. I do think that the picture and yes the sound is better. I hadn’t really noticed any problems before but I do now. Looking good in your home.
Yes!!! blab on! Would be super to hear about your experiences and how you make it all work. And yes- GoPro 10 is a big difference- perfect early birthday gift! 😉
A big part of germination is the right soil temperature. On our bright sunny days, it would be helpful if you put your containers out in the direct sunlight. If you can lay down something black first - even better. Then move them back into the greenhouse as the sun sets and close up the flaps. You want to try to retain as much daytime heat as possible through the night. And be certain your soil never dries out. 😉👍 The ride along was great fun! I have never really seen your countryside. Very rustic and charming. Now I fully understand why you like your location so much!
Ah very true... I'm sort of just winging it with the seeds at the moment and hoping for the best. I don't even close the poly tunnel doors which is probably bad. I do keep it watered, at least! 😁
@@PortugalfromScratch 👍 I've only volunteered in a proper greenhouse. All of the growing I have done at home has been "make do" I hope there are some useful ideas for you 🍀
@@PortugalfromScratch That's great news! I learned the hard way that seeds (each species) have their own minimum temperature for good germination. I know dragging them to and from each day is a pain - but the result is worth it. Nice sturdy seedlings that are not leggy - and less time spent waiting! 🍀☀🌻 Thank you for sharing 😉
Great video. Thank you, Kirsty. The stone shelf is perfect. Love your little, but very practical, timber shelves. The bike ride was glorious. The new Go-Pro is definitely an improvement, which we appreciate. Your skills and determination are quite awesome. :)
I’ve noted a great improvement with the GoPro, thanks to mum and dad🥰Loved the bike filming it really was lovely. Hey Kirsty aka you’re the go to “tiny house interior designer” 😉🥰
Why not leave the slats open just as they are? You could change the perspective by draping a towel to dry or hanging pictures from the slats and change it up as often as you like. Another wall will lead to a sense of the space being cramped. Loved the cycle trip, seeing the different roads and houses, please do more of those. Thanks for sharing your home build project.
I0m glad you liked the bike ride! I'll head out on a walk soon and video that, too. I want a sense of cosiness in this area so having that bit enclosed is ok with me. It's a weird space behind the door and It was always intended as a closet... but I totally see what you're saying... the slats looked cool!
I think you need to watch some u tube videos about tiny home living. you need to use every available inch for storage don't put the tiny shelfs to low it will make the stone shelf unusable. Have full width shelfs to store books tins or other things this will use the space more effectively. Just a thought xx
There are lots of amazing storage ideas on other channels and I'll for sure check them out! But in this case, that wall's purpose isn't storage. I'd prefer to keep my storage more tucked away... that's really just a closet wall that I'm trying to make more artistic and functional, so that space wasn't really going to be storage anyway. But I will use the inside of the cupboard so I'm thinking of ways to maximise the space in there, for sure.
Looking great! Loved the bike ride - looks like it would be easy to get lost! Video on finances etc would be interesting, hope fully not too intrusive!
Great vid, loved the bike ride. Could you do it again in six months to show difference at the end of summer It will be great when your parents come again. I hope they are staying well
Ah good idea! You'll se e a huge difference, the trick will be finding a day that's not brutally hot! 😁 Yes my parents are great and I'm looking forward to seeing them.
Looking really good! Your vision is taking shape. I went for a ride on the e-bike today also, on similarly bumpy roads, although much steeper here than it looks like around your place. Having the e-bike is a game-changer for going up all those hills! And yes, the picture and sound quality has definitely improved! 👍
I reckon with your perfectionism and research skills, you could build some styling chairs. Probably sell them too? Just another project for you to fit in.... 😊
Thanks, Mom and Dad! I've been thinking the volume was my older laptop. Lovely to have better equipment and a better finished product. (Tho that doesn't seem to have stopped my watching!)
Really enjoyed the bike tour! How many miles do you think round trip? Love the stone work and little shelves. What about leaving the top front of the solar closet open instead of the side by the wood stove... 'cause less dust from the wood stove? Just an idea. Also, a video about finances, off grid life would be great!
Ooh I have no idea... it was probably about 30 minutes round trip, not going crazy fast. The front of the closet will be open as well but it'll have a sort of wooden grate. I want as much ventilation as possible and I think with the smallish holes I've decided on using for the wall it should be ok. I'm not sure about leaving ventilation on the roof part though as I'm worried about dust...
thanks, Mom and dad... for this wonderful gift.. it is way better.... 😃😄
Glad to hear that! Yes, thanks mum and dad!!
Wow the new camera make a big difference. Way to go mom and dad.

Wow, what a difference with the new camera and microphone! Looking good.
So glad to hear that, thanks for the feedback!
The roads do not look wide enough for vehicles to meet. The roads are wonderful. I like the time lapse on projects.
Many of the roads are quite narrow behind the villages... it somehow works!
I love how creative your designs are . It’s looking beautiful.
Thank you!
Oh better picture and sound for sure.
Woohoo! That's a relief! I didn't use the microphone gizmo, either, so it could improve even more. Thanks!
Thanks for taking us along on the beautiful bike ride! Love your bungalow! Thanks Mom & Dad for the GoPro! What a fantastic family ❤🌱🐣🪻🌷

@@PortugalfromScratchI agree about the roof part, oh, I forgot you were doing the grate. It's all looking amazing.
