There are so many parallels in leaving an abusive cult/abusive marriage. No one has the right to choose for you. Do not tell anyone is very good advice along with having a secret stash of money. I left my abusive husband years ago. It definitely wasn't easy, but the first step gave me the momentum I needed. Good stuff here! I really feel for anyone that is stuck in any sort of controlling or abusive situation.

E s k e l, the one thing I think that some of your half siblings that are from your dad's third marriage, that may cause them to be afraid to leave is once some outsiders find out how they came into the world, with his dad marrying his sister, people may not want to be entangled in that due to the high risk of genetic abnormalities.
That’s a good point, leaving a cult is much harder than just moving from one place to the next. It’s impossible to know all the struggles that may come with it!

That seems odd. Looking from the outside in there is no appeal. If the real work women have rights and fathers have only the number of children that they can afford, love and have a relationship with. My father used to always say that the ways a father shows his love for a family is by how much he loves for and cares for his wife/his children’s mother. How can a man with multiple wives and dozens ( or hundreds) of children have a true relationship with any of them. Polygamy is a lifestyle where everyone loses!
