    horn blasted because you forgot to push in the 3 gray plastic clips in the hole in front of the spring before installing airbags. Hope this help in the future.

    Most honest review ever. Exactly how I felt. It’s been 4 days I’m using the yoke

    The horn always goes off when you reconnect the battery, in case someone is messing with your car. I think you hit the horn twice to stop it.

    Actually you just explained the entire adjustment to a Tesla from an ICE car. The steering yoke just highlights that adjustment.

    The yoke steering wheel for tesla is perfect. Yoke steering wheel is a unique and fun way to steer. This high quality steering wheel has an incredible feel, too. It's a must-have for long road trips! I know where can you get it 😁😁

    If you are sitting in the driver's seat then the car will restart from power off mode. Just turn off the car from the passenger seat then disconnect battery.

    Hi, The torque for the steering wheel screw is 59.00 ft-lb😉

    • @mmark300
      @mmark300  2 года назад

      Thanks. Feels tighter than 59 ft-lbs but that could also just be that I had to hold the wheel and not being able to get any weight behind it.

    Thanks for the close ups of the yoke and quality, for some reason couldn’t really find others doing this. I’m stuck between the leather and alcantara. As you have the alcantara, what are your thoughts? Would you stick with it, any regrets or thoughts of wondering if you should’ve went with the leather?

    • @mmark300
      @mmark300  2 года назад +2

      Thanks. I'm still really liking the alcantara mostly for the feel. It's nice and grippy. With only half a wheel I want twice the grip :). I might very slightly prefer the cleaner, slicker look of the leather, but it's the feel and uniqueness of the alcantara that got me. Something else to think about is cleaning. The leather is quicker to clean, but I watched a video on cleaning alcantara and it's no big deal. But if you're someone who drives often with dirtier than normal hands, this may be something to consider.
      If you do end up getting something and not liking it, you would be able to sell it pretty easily, and based on what I see on the forums, not be out much money at all. They are also easy to replace.

    • @natesmith1908
      @natesmith1908 2 года назад

      Makes sense on the grip thought and great point on resale. Might have to give the alcantara a try. Originally I was worried about the placement of stiching around the thumbs but looks like it’s far enough back as to not constantly be in contact with your thumbs.

      I owned a Cadillac 2012 CTSV-Wagon with the Alcantara wheel, had it for 10 years and the Alcantara looked just as good with just a little wear but you could barely tell. If you take care of it, it should last a long time.

  • @stephen2220

    Hi Mark, Now that Tesla offers the round steering wheel option for the New Model S & X I'm curious to know how much of the display to the right will be covered up by the top portion of the steering wheel when installed? I definitely like the unobstructed view of the DIC in front of the driver and the whole top half of the center screen while using the yoke but at what cost to safety? I believe the round wheel would be the safer choice and one that we all know how to use, but I'm finding it difficult to decide between the safety in which the round wheel provides and the openness while using the yoke. Decisions, decisions... Your opinions please! Thank you

    • @mmark300
      @mmark300  Год назад +1

      When you are not used to the yoke, it is definitely not safer. Once you get used to it, though, it becomes more second nature for normal driving, but still not as nice as the round wheel. It's overall clunky when you need to spin it. I still enjoy the view and how much different that causes the car to feel with the yoke to go back to round, however.

    Hey! you know if there is any safety risks with the airbag by installing a yoke on the model 3? Franz said in a recent interview that the most challenging thing about the yoke of the Plaid was to redesign the airbag since the yoke doesn't have the top part of the steering wheel. please let us know your thoughts. thanks so much!

    If someone were to put a Yoke on my Model 3 DMP, I'd smack them and ask why??? The whole point of the Yoke on S and X was to be able to see the dash gauges and the Model 3 and Y have no such thing. The Yoke is a joke.
