As I am 67 years of age I still enjoy listening to the founding fathers of metal. I remember I was only 16 when listening to this Music on my LP record player. The album was recorded at vertigo records. Black Sabbath and their music has been on my mind and part of my life for 50 years now. Thank you Black Sabbath.
I'm 67 also hell this was the music we grew up with man we enjoyed the birth and the kings of rock and roll Along with Black Sabbath Led Zeppelin well you know what I mean
This song is in my top 3 metal songs of all time, it's fucking amazing. And of course is the best anti war song of all time, the lyrics is so powerful.

The heaviest album ever recorded. Hands down. I remember I was 12 when it came out. No one had ever heard anything like it. I decided early on I couldn't listen to it first thing in the morning or the last thing at night... it was almost like a secret we were all trying to keep from our parents... hard to do at full blast... ;)😅
Every single song on this album is a well-known Classic. That's an extremely rare achievement for any band or solo musician. One of the greatest albums of all time. Even people who don't normally listen to heavy music should recognize this greatness.
I heard this album first repeatedly. Truly frightening subject matter with aggressive playing. I was 9 or 10 when my older bro got it. Wanted more, nothing out yet so got 1st album. Scarier album cover but the topics and music on paranoid is heavier IMO.
Today Is September 22 of 2024, I'm 69 y.o mexican and can tell you that for sure, it is timeless....clean, high quality and beautifully recorded. I've had the LP. Don't know what happened with it. With all my LP's as a matter of fact. Maybe my father throws them away when I left the family house in 1977 when I got married.
LOVE BILL WARD’S DRUMMING HERE! AS A DRUMMER MYSELF THIS IS MY FAVORITE BLACK SABBATH SONG!!! BEST VERSION IS BLACK SABBATH WAR PIGS LIVE IN PARIS 1970!
Here I am at the age of 61 and have just repurchased the first three albums and am listening to this on my tablet at 8.40am with headphones on while still in bed on a Sat morning sipping on my first cup of tea of the day. And what comes to mind is why is this not being thrashed on our radios as this is so much needed today and its a shame that in the world we all live in today we will always have WAR PIGS living among us. Regards Glenn v from NZ
Heavy Metal and Hard Rock and "Metal" started with the opening chord of this guitar and then Ozzy's voice coming in screaming about how bad Viet Nam had gotten...History right here in your ears right now!!!!!
No. Metal started in the early 60s really. It isn't created by one person or one band. There were multiple elements that created it and it took time, it didn't pop up overnight. In Sabbath's first 3 albums you can hear a lot of Blue Cheer's stuff going on. Like in this song.
I’m so disappointed. I went to an antique market today and I literally saw this CD album sitting on one of the tables and I immediately went to buy it but then I thought I should wait just in case I saw something I wanted more. Later when I was about to leave I wanted to go buy it but couldn’t remember where it was. Damn it I could’ve gotten this amazing album.

Such an undervalued band. They have such an appreciation of the blues and 'feel', the same as Led Zeppelin had a little more of.
