    The opening of the video, hit me hard in a good way! As an OCD sufferer, uncertainty is my biggest enemy! So, now that I’m working towards tolerating uncertainty in every aspect of life, I understand how uncertain life really is. We ought to live the best we can, while keeping in mind that …life just happens sometimes!

  • @LimitlessM1ndset
    @LimitlessM1ndset 3 месяца назад +12

    It is not the uncertainty, it is the unrealistic expectations. Let go of your expectations, and you won't care what the outcome will be. Take your example about the video not being good, that is your expectation, and that is the reason you don't want to make it, not the uncertainty. People build up very high expectations in their lives about everything, from basic things, to friendships, and relationships.

    Your video has reminded me of a saying. I’m not sure of the exact wording, but it’s something like this: There are two paths before you, one of them is the pain of discipline (or perseverance), and the other the pain of regret. I’d say the first one is much better than the second, particularly in the last years of life.

    I've known I _want_ to pursue various stuff for some time... finally taking the plunge and decided to vlog the process... exciting but also terrifying! (Of course, the difference between fear and excitement is remembering to breathe!) Thank you for your video... the magic truly is in the uncertainty... bring it on!

    I've been told over and over that I overthink. I'm only glad someone anyone noticed because if anyone knows this about me, more is myself. I smile😊 thank you, David.

    This was absolutely brilliant! It made me think about the need to get comfortable with uncertainty in all areas of life in a time where I’ve been really scared of the thought of not being in control of everything. I needed this so much. Thank you, David! ❤

    This is good advice, but I guarantee you that business owners are experiencing far LESS uncertainty than the employee. Investors less than those who actually do the work. Bankers less than those who take the loans. Regular citizens less than political leaders. Those on the bottom serve as shock absorbers for those at the top, who are able to increasingly protect themselves against uncertainty. That's really the whole point of wealth and power. That's the point of control.
    So while I completely agree with your points about uncertainty, I think you've inverted the whole system of dominance and hierarchy that our society is built on.

    As a former brick and mortar owner, this is so true. I experienced so much envy and targeting from jealous staff members who didn't understand the risk and sacrifice I took to be the leader. Also dealing with their constant entitlement and whining. Employees are so ungrateful lol now I work completely alone and it's so much better.

      @@clementokoro5563 I was only 25 when I opened it and extremely naive and a people pleaser. I learned a lot of hard lessons about humanity. Anyone who owns a business with staff needs to read 48 laws of power to protect themselves from predatory people. Unless they themselves are the predator lol that is the key to quick success in business unfortunately

    great video. I would phrase the comparison slightly differently - I think the 9-5 job gives you the illusion of certainty but that illusion is believed fully by the employee, so there is a tangible psychological relief in that (regardless of the actual certainty or uncertainty involved - e.g. the CEO might be about to fold the company but ignorance is bliss on the part of the employee) .
    The other benefit of a job is it gives you the ability to take your foot off the gas, you don't have to constantly stay proactive and aggressive and action-biased. Basically it allows you to be a fair bit lazier and feel a lot safer, at an ENORMOUS opportunity cost and time cost when we are talking about a full-time position

    • @thedavidboland
      @thedavidboland  3 месяца назад +2

      totally, the psychological relief is what we're after and if you can convince yourself that you are safe then you will feel safe, whether you are actually safe or not. Cheers for the input!

    I woult say life is pintless/senseless but not in a sucide way. I mean we hold in to Hope (the "universe" or Gott or whatever) that everything make Sense one day but what is there is nothing and life Just sucks Sometimes? That thought ist Kind of calming to me. There is No Hope. It Just is what it is. Pointless.
