This was my era of CBBC, the one with Cel, Ian, Yonko, Katie, Karim and Lauren with that green graffiti-looking logo. I remember watching this live when I was 10, such good memories :)
I'm 34 and grew up watching so many of these presenters. This was a huge trip down memory lane. I used to love the wacky broom cupboard antics. Andi Peters looks amazing.
+ZD Cosner Yep. Even better, for a whole week. And each day, have a past CBBC presenter presenting for the afternoon, all the old CBBC shows from their respective eras. It would be awesome to see Phillip, Gordon, Andy Crane, Wilson, Edd, and Andi Peters back in the Broom Cupboard, presenting the old school shows again, even for just one day.
Used to watch cBbC from 2006-2014, stoped wathging as they got rid of the old amazing charrictors like ian, well the ones who were in 2011, the cactus and the thing in the shredder, aww those were the best days. Every morning id wake up at 6:55 and go down stairs to see the broadcast start...
I last watched cbbc back in 2009 as after that I left to finish my school time in Greece until 2011 then when I came back to Britain I went to a further education college that I had to get up early and since 2013 I started working. I will never forget the 90's & 00's cbbc
The best part of this was definitely seeing Andi Peters and Edd back in the original Broom Cupboard, and singing the Chipmunks theme. I remember Andi doing that when he originally presented Children's BBC back in the early 90's. Lol Must admit, i got misty eyed seeing that being recreated all these years later. The only thing that could have topped that, is if Phillip Schofield had sang the Ulysses or Mysterious Cities Of Gold themes as he did back in the day. xD Phillip Schofield, Andi Peters, and even Andy Crane were wonderful kids tv presenters, and gave me lots of great memories growing up with Children's BBC. Legends all!
My era was in the 00s! I grew up with the likes of Angellica, Barney, Sophie etc. I reckon seeing Angellica in so many things, very professional in her job.
21:19 - I was one of the many participants on Maggot Moments. I collected 8 Apples but didn't get back to the finishing base. But I still won the star prize (Gameboy) along with autographs of Andi, Toby, and Zöe, and a CBBC pen which still writes to this day.
I wish they do the same thing again when CBBC turns 40 in 2025, this in my opinion was one of the best things that the Children's channel has ever received rather than having a live continuity that doesn't have any big plans.
I thought that their 30th anniversary was rubbish. ITV had a whole weekend of retrospectives, even showing some old shows. I remember the broomcupboard starting in 1985 as a 7 year old, and watched till the early 90s. I hope for their 40th anniversary next year they do something better than just interview old presenters for an hour.
Thank you soooo much for uploading this, my recording failed while I was at work and iPlayer never works for me so I wouldn't have seen it without your upload. It brings back so many happy memories from my childhood, but I think the bit of this I enjoyed the most was singing along to the theme tune of Alvin and the Chipmunks with Andi and Edd for the first time in about 25 years. It has left me asking one question though.... when did I get so old?
I know it sounds cheesy but Ive met Hacker and his puppeteer! Strangrly enough his puppeteer was holding him and doing the voice of Hacker at the event I saw him at! So surreal!
7:45 it really shows how much there was, your notice the record player with kids records also those blue things in that shot are those 8-tracks tapes or back up computer thingys?
They're tape cartridges, similar concept to 8 track but containing standard audio tape. They were used for music played during breakdowns and the national anthem at closedown. Probably also used for Edd's screaming fans.
sirmugman we didn't really have 8 track in he UK. It's probably something called an NAB cart that radio stations used for jingles. I only know this because Techmoan did a RUclips video on it.
I'ma 40 year old man saying this...but the "cocker" catch phrase soon gets boring. Bring back the "squeeks" and the "quacks" and let the kids imagine what the puppets are saying. Do not question me. It is late and I am lost on RUclips.
The "Immortal" Andi Peters....and I thought I looked young lol!!!!....this guy hasn't aged physically/verbally one bit....He still reminds me of school summer holidays, and his several Kylie-Guest-Interviews....:)....Oh and he has arms like legs now:)....
man, I couldnt remember the first time I watched this! It was in the late 90s when I was a kid! I couldnt remember Dick and Dom when they were…. behaved before having their own show which in my opinion was… not a good idea. I remember Otis but was so many years ago! I remember SMILE with Blue bear ^^ I can't believe its been so long!!! *cries*
I watched from 90s/2000s to maybe 2008 ish, weird to think Hacker used to not speak at all I guess his show scoop wasn’t very popular. Definitely got more of a cheeky and adult humour now too
I am so glad as a 27 who grew up seeing cbbc and remembering seeing the presenters it so lovely and nice . But I don’t like those two new presenters the guys looks odd especially when he looks directly at the camera and he doesn’t suit working with the woman host and she seems so stuck up
I get so emotional seeing Ed and Oucho every time I watch this.

This makes me feel old! I watched the first CBBC. I'm 42 and remember Philip Scofield, Gordon the Gopher Andy Peters and Ed the Duck.
Sunny Days I’m 14 grandma
They should have had a celebration on the weekend where they would show all the past CBBC shows for the entire 2 days.
+ZD Cosner Yep. Even better, for a whole week. And each day, have a past CBBC presenter presenting for the afternoon, all the old CBBC shows from their respective eras. +Angelic Storm if only that happened it would have been amazing
This is equally as good.
ZD Cosner I think that’s what CITV did some time ago.
@@furnessespeon yea in 2012 they had a 90s week and got original host's of shows like jungle and other shows

Peter Clarke me too!!!
My time was late 2000s to 2010s
Like, Angelica form Rugrats
You're a baby lol my era was 1985 - 1994. Well, actually I was watching BBC Childrens before the broomcupboard and its rebrand. 😂

Watching this is opening up memories I forgot I had..
happy birthday cbbc thanks for making memories n making the child hood programmes so special
This channel was my childhood!
38:00 - they make it sound as if CBBC was new to digital TV in 2002 (when it had a strand on BBC Choice for a few years before).
Ooh, I hadn't seen this! Thanks for uploading! :-) :-) :-)
Damn, all this actually makes me cry...
aah this took me back to my childhood. God I love this country!
Brings back so many memories!
I like how they put MMXV (2015) at the end with the old bbc logo.
47:32 Ed and Oucho were my favourite hosts of CBBC
I know it sounds cheesy but Ive met Hacker and his puppeteer! Strangrly enough his puppeteer was holding him and doing the voice of Hacker at the event I saw him at! So surreal!
I've grown up with both CITV and CBBC as a kid.
Incidentally At 19:06 my picture of Andi in a Grange Hill uniform was in the background there in 1991 on that footage.
I still remember the day when CBBC started in 1985.
As a block
Chis and Pui! OMG MY CHILDHOOD!
Nah You Are So Crazy It Has To Be Iain And Hacker
But Chris and Pui were before Iain and Hacker so those two made history.
Pui was the original red teletubby.
I ENJOYED THIS AND I WAS LAUGHING EAR TO EAR... I'M NEW IN THE UK BUT I JUST LOVE BBC.
It was funny they used the 2002 closedown ident at the end!
Ed and oucho was favorite boss of laughter in the office

Hacker's catchphrase is getting old, especially since he's been around for 15 full years on CBBC and without Iain for 11 of them.
I always thought 90's CBBC was the Attitude Era of the CBBC lol
LOL this is the prefect description, just pushing the bar until you get fired hahaha

I didn't know Chris Jarvis used to present Cbbc. I remember when he used to present Cbeebies
Ryan Beet He used to present Jungle Run, then I'm not sure if he was a presenter. But he hosts a TV show called Show Me Show Me.
He presented CBBC before the launch of CBeebies.
