as someone who is starting to do more and more electronic troubleshooting, this is really helpful. I'm starting to accumulate bits of things, and I need to develop some organization.
Well i started to play with electronics when i was 10. No i have had no education in electronics, what ever i know i have learnt my self. Education is not required if you wanna do it in a hobby or semi professional level, but if u gonna go and work for a big company then yes you need education to back you up. As a hobby all you need is few important tools to get u started and willingness to not to give up. Because you only learn electronics with practice and building tests circuites and projects and 90% of the times things dont work first time. Watch my how to setup electronic lab video to get an idea of some of the tools you need.
Mj Ram I was wondering about the tantalum capacitors. I heard of people selling them, are they worth salvaging for just that purpose? I wouldn't want to reuse them especially after what you said
interesting points ,if anyone else wants to learn about electronics repair guide try Saankramer Electronic Magazine System ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my neighbor got cool results with it.
its very easy. you have to know your top brands of electronic test gear. then all you do is search for their name and then google to find pictures of the inside of the units to see if anything worth salvaging.
He’s saying “car boot sale“ It’s the European equivalent of a “flea market” or “yard sale” here in America. If you were looking for similar stuff… Your best bet is to get on Google and find ham radio and amateur radio swap meets in your area. There will definitely be some ham radio operators in your area, and a few meet ups within driving distance. They will have a literal truckloads of stuff like this for pennies on the dollar. Basically a flea market… But just full of people who deal in electronics.
Mj Ram I think I will reserve my cash for valuable merchandise. If you are going to buy scrap for cash at least buy it in bulk. At auction you should be able to purchase pallets of it for a reasonable price. That is where the bulk of the ebay product comes from. Large industries and institutions just dump that stuff out. Once a year they'll hold an asset auction where they basically give that trash away. They just want it gone.

Please make sure to give away whatever you have left to someone who can practice soldering/desoldering or to learn anything else about the boards.

Good, very good. Is there a way I could buy some of your microcontrollers? Let's me know...
Thank you,
Charles
What is your educational background in relation to electronics? Is electronics a field that to become proficient, a formal education is required?
Chaotic Logic a 2 year degree from a good tech school will get you further in electronics than it will in many other fields. it is an in-demand field.

A hoarders starting kit..
no
I can't see my way clear to spend good money on what is basically junk. So everything I've ever salvaged I've found for free. Then it is a deal.
Lol. Think harder.
