  • What crown height should you use when changing your banjo head? Does it matter? What if you use the wrong one?

    Hard to tell for sure from a video.... but I'm a gonna bet that hoop is machined perfectly.... I'm a gonna bet that your neck has moved.... you could have just used a 1/16 taller bridge or filed and sanded the hoop 1/16 inch or more..... if your tension on each side of the neck is different that could be causing what you said is treble side higher.... lots of ways to skin this cat including your regulator bars adjustment .... just all depends on what fret clearance you have at each fret the relief etc.... I would have lowered the recess.... but first I would have checked the neck to be sure it's straight to the neck the ring and such

    I see the problem. It appears that more of the tone ring is showing more at the neck than at the tail piece area.

    How do you know what you banjo is? I got mine second hand so i got no clue
