This is the end of a travel from music to literature and back to the music , from Beethoven´s sonata dedicated to Rudolf Kreutzer to Lev Tolstoy and his novel "The Kreutzer Sonata" and finally to Leos Janacek and his impressions on the reading of this novel.
When I first fell in love with chamber music, I was about 19 or 20. At that time, I was struggling personally. I first listened to this quartet at that time and just fell in love with it. For some reason, it felt true, so true in that moment. Now 40 years later, I took the time to listen to it again ... your recording ... quietly and without distraction. It is beautiful. Thank you

Wau. Such a soft character and full of colours! ..perfect interpretation! In our country I heard more hard ways of interpretation, more excentric. But I like this way!!! Thank you!!
This quartet is breathtakingly beautiful. It is played here as it should, bringing out the whole soul of the composer and the culture of his country. Brilliant.
How amazing is it to discover this miraculous piece of music in the autumn of one's life ? ... Astounding interpretation as well. Wow. I came here from reading a bio of Kafka (100th anniversary of his death)
Bravissimo, such an intrincated piece of demanding quartet literature played with beautiful sound, entonation and sense of structure... LIVE!! Bravissimo again
This is so wonderful. Just fantastic. This is my favourite string quartet but I haven't liked any of the other videos of this on RUclips. But this performance is fantastic. I love it as much as my favourite recording. I even love the sound and video.
Amazing performance, the acoustic is perfect, and for once the mics are appropriately distanced from the instruments, thus minimizing that harsh "scratchy" sound so typical in recordings of stringed instruments...
Sorry about those comments, sometimes the spiritual pain I experience is just so intense... The world is in such a bad place, through its own fault. But still...
Janacek's harmonic language is so unique...there's no mistaking it for anyone else...I can hear parallels between this quartet and his operas, the Sinfonietta and the piano Sonata...I just wish he had written more...but why does the violinist make such harsh sounds in parts of the piece? It seems intentional and sounds ugly...surely Janacek couldn't have written that it needs to be performed that way?
Probably one of the best string quartet video I've ever seen. And trust me I've seen plenty. To die for
Breathtaking performance, absolutely gripping.

Breathtaking interpretation of a splendid quartet. So finely structured and all four voices so beautifully balanced and interwoven.
One of my most beloved "modern" pieces. Everything about this performance is gorgeous.
Wonderful performance. Thank you.
Came here from David Bruce’s “The Lick Quartet” to see where he got the inspiration. This piece did not disappoint! Amazing!
Extraordinária interpretação desse difícil quarteto de Janácek. Maravilhoso! Parabéns ao grupo Meccore!!
