  • A little late to the party, but even so Time Paradox Ghostwriter was an interesting manga so I think a discussion might be helpful, especially in regards to the weird take referred to in the title.

    I did find the story compelling although I feel like the author somewhat limited himself by letting Aino and Teppei meet as early as chapter 2. I had wished for the story to further explore his character and his guilt before their encounter, although that would have not stopped it from being cancelled

      Also having her stop having antagonism for him immediately by just joining his crew, kinda just killed the plot dead.

      The writer spent the entire lifetime switching from one idea to the next. I believe he or his editor was not sure what to do with the conflict they created, which was kinda ironic and also sad, because the conflicts write themselves with such an interesting premise.

    I liked the story and the MC. I really felt for the MC and how his failures/insecurities led him to doing what he did and it's not like he didn't have guilt, he had an entire moral dilemma about it. All in all I hope this series isn't getting to much crazy hate and I hope the Mangaka comes back with another story

    It was an incredible manga that was done dirty by readers and editors. To me it's miles better than a lot of cliche shonens that basically tell the same story with the same characters. This manga tried to do something new and unique, combining Bakuman with Steins Gate, but a lot of people couldn't wait or didn't want to see past "plagiarism" and that's why the manga was axed. This is somewhat ironic, since manga deals with topics such as audience reception and harsh editorial control... truth hurts, isn't it.
    I am an author myself, well, author can be a pretty strong word, since I was never published, but I draw for my entire life and I really hope to be featured one day. This story brought me so much joy, I will be forever grateful to it's creators. I am happy to own both original volumes. If anyone liked this story, you might as well read Weekly Shonen Hachi, another amazing manga about artists done "Jitsu wa watashi wa" author.

    I agree that the plagiarism complaints seemed to be addressed pretty adequately in the text. Don't really know what that became even a small controversy. I don't mind too much that it got cancelled early, because while I enjoyed what we got I don't imagine it would have remained as compelling over the course of hundreds of chapters.

  • @ew275x

    The message was all right even if a bit cliche and I think portraying the editor (the best character) as a jackass and everyone and their mother loving White Knight kind of muddles it, like maybe some chaarcters commenting on the emptiness or that it feels too mass appeal to be someone's favorite series. Still I feel that Teppei doesn't really come off as super likeable even with the guilt (feels more like a pity party) and the authors didn't have the chops and experience to make the story. Still hope they return with a new series.
    At least it was better than Bone Collection or that Vampire one.

    As someone who only knows this series from RUclips videos it did bother me that apparently the main character not instantly being punished meant the manga was pro plagiarism

    • @FMeister94
      @FMeister94 3 года назад +8

      That logic means if your story shows murder you must be pro murder

    • @6dm978
      @6dm978 2 года назад

      @@FMeister94 it’s fine if they can still show that murder bad. In ghost writer, Teppei pretty much gets off Scott free and the girl even forgives him in like 2 seconds. It’s way too light in the handling/“punishment” of the plagiarism, which is kind of a huge deal in a manga about writing manga.

  • @upg5147

    This whole thing is ridiculous. No piece of art has to teach you anything or do anything morality right.
    If you want to write a story about a murdering who gets away with everything and learns nothing, have at it. As long as the writing is good, then it will be good. It doesn't have to teach you anything.
    I've always hated this idea that art can't be about something bad. Why do you care? It's a story and if it works, it works. Just enjoy it.
    Great work my dude. Ghostwriter was wrongfully ended but that's just life.

    I wish it didn't become such a shitshow. The reason why I don't respect it's approach to storytelling is that it doesn't give any meaty answers to the questions I found most interesting raised in the first chapter answers with any room to breath. What is it that makes White Knight so good to begin with? It just is. How does Teppei fill such big shoes when the issues from the future stop appearing? We're always just told that shit worked out more or less OK after a timeskip. There's no time to dwell on the difficult details before the scifi section of the plot comes center stage. The end result treats manga less like a creative medium that inspires all sorts of reactions from it's reader base even at the highest levels of creativity, and more like a magical spell that makes people smile and say who this is amazing! Yeah right.

    This Video paints a more compelling version of what Time Paradox Ghostwriter story is about. I still feel like it's a series that really doesn't do the best job of telling it.if it's message was a bit clearer I doubt the whole plagiarism would be the only thing people talk. then again if someone doesn't care enough to engage with it proper. then even when the message told well, the point would still be lose to some.
