I fell in love with Mystic Knight back when I first played. Since watching your videos my knowledge of this game and my mechanical skill has easily tripled! Thanks for the information and entertainment
Mystic Knight has so many layers to its design; while I absolutely expect it to be paired back some with what hints we've seen for DD2's other vocations, I do hope that it still has some of its flavor of mayhem and tank magery intact. While I lean more towards the High Sceptre kind of spellsword; I still want my pseudo paladin to be in as well! lol
Yup when I restarted playing dragons dogma like 10 days ago , one thing came to my mind-SHIELDS...now I am maxed Mystic Knight...man it feels so good to combine magic and melle to melt my opponents 💪 😎🛡️
@@NB-tc7ey I still think DD has the best feeling shield gameplay of an action RPG. Blocking is fun, perfect blocking is amazing, and having a magic class that basically combines spells into their skill-based perfect blocking timing. . . *chef's kiss*
This is great to know. I tend to lean a little more to MK with staff but that damage looks hard to pass up. Thanks for taking the time to check these things
@815TypeSirius at least the way I play it, you want to be in the thick of things to get perfect blocks. You want to carry a few different enchanted staves and spread out your skills so you can do every type of damage. So my shield skills will be like Holy Riposte, Demonswrath, Thunder Riposte and my Staff would have Comestion, Frazil and Sopor for the sleep shenanigans. You just swap out elements depending on what you're fighting and bring a Sorcerer with extra enchants if you need the stat boosts.

Hey Nihil, do you ever think you'll do a full playthrough of Dragon's Dogma (main questline + Dark Arisen + side quests) using the written text-style guides you do for these videos? I know that would be a lot of work, but I i think it would be awesome and successful, as there aren't many (if any) playthroughs on youtube that are professional guides done by someone with the level of knowledge you have about the game.
@@yiirba Can you tell me what to search for? I know he has some full playthroughs for different classes/vocations, but I wouldn't really call them "playthroughs" in the sense I described, as he usually starts the videos already being well equipped and leveled, and most seem to be playthroughs of the Dark Arisen expansion only - not the main campaign and side quests. I know he got a 7 and a half hour video of the mystic knight that does start from scratch, but I also wouldn't really consider that to be the type of playthrough I described - the reason being that he skips over large parts of the campaign and opening segments by having the gameplay sped up between the parts he wanted to showcase. The kind of playthrough I was describing was essentially a full walkthrough, played from a brand new character at level 1 and without being sped up to skip opening segments. A guide for different parts of the game from beginning, to mid-game, to late game with regards to character building and quests. Essentially a guided walkthrough made for people who are complete newbies to the game and want to follow an optimal guide from a pro. Example being explaining mechanics for new players and showing an optimal way of going through the beginning segments and quests, while describing when the best time is to do certain quests, or how to most optimally build your character as you move through the came from scratch. If he does have a playthrough like that can you link it or state the title? I'd appreciate it.
@@Vinlander95 if you need a guided playthrough to have fun i think you should try a new game, or maybe learn how to play and learn for yourself. if youre incapable of thinking for yourself then a guide wont make you any better.
@@yiirba Damn man chill out, I was just making a recommendation of what could be an good series, no need to get so ruthless or start gate-keeping. I also never said at any point that I never knew how to play the game - I do know, and have beaten it before. I just enjoy watching pros with good knowledge of games do playthroughs (examples being RUclipsrs like Carcinogen, Patalog, Hawlo, Cylinder of Leaves, Ongbal, SVMR, etc.). Besides why is it such a bad thing to suggest having a video guide that new players could follow?
So the gloves don't seem to affect (main hand) spells in any way. What about putting Abyssal Anguish on the staff and then attacking with Focused Bolt or Magick Billow?
Always great to see a new video from you. Lol you inspired me to jump back into Dogma after a long break. Can't believe its been four years since you originally tested this after I asked about the enchantment. 😆 Did you take down your element specific runs? Trying a dark element MK and wanted to see your take on it again. Thanks again for all the great vids and game tips.
Thanks Boesc. Yeah, I deleted the Dark MK. Maybe I should redo. I just wish that there was a Perma Dark Sword that I could use for the run. Like Fire MK can go with Eden's Warden making the Drake fight very tough, or Ice MK with Almace ensuring Frostwyrm is difficult. But the Dark run, I can just use a pure physical and have no restrictions against dark enemies.
@@Nihil0.0 Well, Im cheating on my Dark MK. Only using dark element spells, Abyssal riposte, Abyssal Anguish, Demonswrath, but still using cannon and sigil for sword skills since they're non element. Carrying the complement of elemental weapons as usual also. Prefer maces but the swords weigh less and seem easier for me to GF. Prolly should drop all the elemental sword and just run pure physical, maybe gold for silence. Thoughts? Thanks again. Good to have you posting again. 👍
@@boesc1443 yeah, I'd get rid of the Perma Enchanted Swords (yes, swords are easier to get and GF, that's why I don't bother with maces) just stick with physical Sword, and Rusted staff. The only staff skill that's dark is Sopor and Sopor is pretty nice with Torpor. Golden for Silence does benifit for Frostwyrm and Dark Bishop
Hello and good night!!! Great video like always. I have a question , how you riposte o counter attack with the shield been a mistic knight. Sorry for my bad inglish, I speak spanish
Now I wonder a few things: Would the glove make Trance spells more powerful and add more elemental damage ? Do sword skills do more damage with an enchanted weapon since they are magick based ? Does a Magick focused MK deal more damage with a magic weapon than a strength based one ? 🤔
@@Nihil0.0 Wait, did I read this correctly? Abyssal anguish uses the element of the perma enchanted shields? Will the L3 augmented gloves increase that also? If so, IG the perma enchanted shields aren't useless like I thought they were.
@gammav9779 Well, I tested on Garm with Blue Kite, Thunder Kite and Wizard's Vizard. No change. At all. In that test the Gloves did not increase any of the Shield's Abyssal Anguish damage. Majority of the damage log was .5 so I only broke the defense on 5 strikes and .5 for 10 strikes. I don't think the defense break matters, but I am confused why the gloves doubled for Elder Ogre with Diabolical shield but no double damage on Garm with Kite Shields. No shock damage, no additional strikes. Working on a vid now. Will also test other subjects
@@Nihil0.0 i test briefly purged buckler vs diobolic on Daimon. Purge 2 dmg, diabolic 1 dmg. Is it make sense if it have something to do with dark resistance? What if test to enemies weak to both holy and dark. For thunder kite case, test on enemies weak to thunder and dark
@@gammav9779 elder ogre is weak to dark, and lightning. Garm is weak to lightning but not dark. Probably need to try kite on elder ogre. And then maybe the gloves only apply for weak to dark. Will test further
