Didn't even notice it until you pointed it out. Was too into the subject matter (hoping to optimize my workouts) and I am sure Seth was not paying attention to the Hershey Kiss either. Workout discipline; you will look right past the junk food whenever it is around.
Muscles are destroyed in the gym,fed in the kitchen and healed in bed. Rest days are totally needed I think. Got tired, sic and joints ached. I took almost 2 months off and got back in now, slowly but sure! Makes fun again😊
I cannot see how anyone can not like any of Seth's Videos.... This guys is real, down to earth and takes the time to put out free, quality content! Much appreciated Bro! F***N S**T UP!!
Seth, thank you for addressing the issue of, creating goals in your video, without it, there really is no clear vision. You’re correct when you state if you are not prepared you’re lacking. Being prepared gives the hungry that extra advantage alongside the hard work. Back in the old school, classic eras, they didn’t have any coaches. For those that can’t afford a coach, you basically are there mentor. You hit every point and provided value and insight as a coach/life coach to the general public; you touched goals, training, eating, warming up, and not being a pussy. Extraordinary content brother, worth the time to listen.
God I have missed this mans personality and sheer will. Seth was the first set of videos I watch when I decided to get real about bodybuilding..and his message if you're willing is loud
Thank you . I have over trained for 6 months. Hitting the heavy. Doing 7 days a week. 2 hours a day and still went to work. I ate like a beast. But damb I was so tired and all joints hurt. I decided to start taking 2 days off a week and I now feel better and my muscles are growing in size now.
its crazy right, literally its just those rest days that you need to grow. To me it was more of a mental thing to not go to the gym when I had the time and will to go regardless of what my body could take.
Man.Without rest, you dont grow.Even on gear that you can recover much ,much faster if you dont rest enough, you will grow less.Optimization as seth said is very important. Some people take the opposite route and not train enough ,that also leads to poor result.
Not all calories are made equal 700c of yams and chicken breast is way different than 700c of candy. It’s not at all so simple various foods create disparate hormonal responses. Certain foods actually increase metabolism lean meat in particular. Certain carbs make you bloated others don’t they all metabolize at different rates. If you eat clean you can eat significantly more calories and lose weight compared to somebody that eats processed junk.
Great to see someone talking about the realities of overtraining. It boggles my mind how many clueless bodybuilders out there, who still think overtraining is a myth.
I share 100% and is also my own mentality & attitude to training , for the last 20 years and could not have said it better & will not add or remove a word to what u said there!
Fantastic stuff. Like the famous strong man Albert yulug said and Like Lee Haney say's stimulation not destroy , Always use the staggered training system , eventually build up to heavy start with lighter for a week then medium for a week then your heavy for a week or two weeks maximum then go to medium for a week then if you are feeling good go back to heavy training for a week then back to medium BUT anytime you start to feel Like you aren't progressing cut back to light for a week then your medium then your heavy , This will enable you to keep the progress steady and recovery on point as long as you get the nutrition in , Don't let your ego get the better of you ,Be smart , the hare 🐇 didn't win the tortoise did 🐢. good luck☘️
Man, you are truly genuine, transparent, no bullsihit, to the point, down to earth, ...I am a fan, and didn’t know who you were until a friend from the gym mentioned you! I trust your advice !!
I've done 3 hrs/7days a week for 21 days (low volume, high intensity) and on the 22nd day I had insomnia, joint and muscle pains, irritated, and just overall felt like shit
Great video. Something I think most people miss when discussing overtraining is the mental resilience development gained from training hard when you feel like doing anything but train. You mentioned grinding through with just will and determination, I think that's optimising a champions mindset of doing what it takes whatever the weather. When the mental & physical are in sync of optimisation that's when you're cooking with gas
Literally nailed me. I did this for a few weeks, 2 hrs a day, hard as i could go, with one day off after 6 on. I got sick, and couldnt kick the cold until i just recently started the three day on 1 day off split. Colds almost all gone and I feel great again 🤯
I appreciate everything you do seth! The videos just keeping going, and wanting to get better, feel better, look better. Even though im not ever gonna go into a show, it still helps me. Im a big guy, but i was never taught nutrition. So learning from you means more than you know. Especially this video. Because some days im sore and energized, and some im not. Keep up the good work brother! And like you said, ive got to give the credit where it is due!
I was JUST watching your videos for new exercises.Favorite body builder. You're straight forward, no bullshit, like it or not. I defintely appreciate that shit
Can u please show ur workout on tape without edit. Start to finish... so I know ur warm- up and working sets... rest in between.. what u eat during the whole nine yards... thank u!
Dude I felt like you were talking to me about something I needed to confront for years, like an older brother, with the only tone of voice that I would have listened to because it wasn't over the top in volume and intensity. You spoke grounded, and with reason.
Love your video's bro. You are raw and honest which is the way everyone should be. I just started taking a pre-workout and wow what a difference. I try to do the workouts that you post in your video's. Keep up the good work bro.
Even with having a pacemaker, I still do a split. I don't throw down 7-12 days in a row. I work FedEx 5 days a week, teach piano and violin as well and kill it when I'm in the gym. Thank you for everything you say and do Seth!!! You push me every video to keep up my workouts and nutrition.
@Jd All Your weight lifting movements should take 1,5 seconds or longer No Joints Injuries and drinking 800 ml of water first in the morning also helps cause that fills your bones and muscles with water and prevents joints unjury. This also goes for Dips and Push Ups and Pull Ups

I've watched alot of videos over the last few years. I used to be in the Army and box. I was 230 to 260 summer and winter weights for years. Chrons came about in my life and I deteriorated to 148 pounds. I felt lost and didnt feel good about myself. Everytime I ran into friends I would get asked about being a drug addict or asked if I was dying. So 2 years ago I had surgery and have been pretty good since. I started buying weight and have quite a bit at home with a nice gym. I managed to gain back some and got to 175 but couldnt get any bigger. I started watching your videos and I definitely dont look like you and that's fine...but I now weigh 205. That's 30 pounds since July. And everyday I learn something new from you....thanks man and keep it up. Now time for me TO GO FUCK SOME SHIT UP!!!
I introduced a fellow bro to the gym a couple of months ago. This week I showed him Seth's channel. He immediately said: This dude is no bullshit, and he's absolutely right. I love that attitude and that's why I come to this channel. Just straight up facts. Seth always sets me straight with these vids. Now I'm going to hit chest, peace out!
Good shit brotha! And this is a life lesson too not just for bodybuilding. Optimize and constantly reevaluate your goals so that your actions match your ambition. People love to talk but not walk the walk. As with anything it takes time and baby steps. 💪🏻
Thanks for sharing, I am 49 and trying to get back on track. Your videos have inspired me very much. Once again thanks and hope to see your gym complete. Have an awesome day!
He Seth, ....i'm new to you channel. I love your no nonsense attitude. I have watched a ton of videos lately to help push myself on my journey. I love your "no judgement" attitude. Unfortunately I became morbidly obese. I'm down 70 lbs and my main goal is to lose any and every pound no matter what it is. But when I reach a lower weight my goal is to rebuild. This part of my journey is down right hard. Being such low calorie and always deficit you always feel like your tired, lethargic, and weak as fuck. But I just keep remembering that it is only one half of the journey. I have done this before I have a severe autoimmune condition and the trials of that changes the way you look at life. Anyway, I am almost halfway done with the first half of my Goals (initial goals). I wanted to say thanks for making these videos. They arent for everyone, but they work for me.
Wow I really like how you speak. I’m really glad you talked about actual overtraining being intense fatigue and illness. So many people thinking it’s just being super sore.
Well said Seth. I agree with that workout split. Growth occurs at rest. Listen to your body as overtraining is counterproductive. I call it "instinctive training." Better to rest and maintain intensity thus progress.
This is the best way I’ve ever heard overtraining explained. I cut down trees for a living. I train my ass off. I love making my family happy but it all needs to be a balance. I always love being my best and preparation is key. FUCKKIN A!!!!!!!!
I was a 3 sport athlete in highschool and a college athlete. I have been over trained before and did drive on pure adrenaline. Most people will not hit this point through self pressure. It's a good thing to take a break if you want too but the key is not to use it as an excuse. A large portion of people let the little voice in the back of their head tell them that its okay to relax and take a day off(nothing wrong with it) I personally see it as an excuse for a majority of people that are looking for a break. Take a break if you want to but understand the human body can take an incredible amount of force. I'm also a rugby player now and even if I play this sport for the rest of my life and lift along side it I don't believe I'll ever hit my previous points of overtraining. Food for thought.
Seth is a no BS type of guy old school tell it like it is like or not, but this guy has a ton of knowledge for bodybuilders especially those that are just starting out. Everything he says is spot on.
Not seen a bad video yet. Embodiment of TrueGrit sir. You're mindset and videos are honest, balanced, and encouraging. My success in reaching my fitness goals (to be strong and look good naked) will largely be due to your videos. Can't say enough good here. Thanks bro 🇺🇸👍.
That's my biggest issue. I try to get in the gym and work hard and I feel like I'm not doing myself justice if I take days off. I know that's not the way to look at it but I just worry if I'm not putting in work I'll regress. And yes, I know that's not the case. I just want to be the best version of me I can possibly be in whatever I do by out working everyone around me. I feel you on the over training though. There are days that I just cant get a pump and everything just feels heavy. And until you mentioned it, I just thought it was "one of those days" and I just needed to push through it. Great advice seth and I'll take that into consideration from now on
I really like this dude....I follow all his regimens, he is shaped just like me....well I'm shaped like him....but I'm taller..he has a wealth of knowledge and experience....his physique speaks for itself.....he is the truth...💪💪💪💪💪

Take this onboard people, I've lived with chronic fatigue for 3 years now because of over training. Its not something you can just sleep off and recover from, live and learn
Man.. As a long time recreational lifter on and off.. I really needed to hear this. I get bored then quit lifting.. Then start all over again and repeat the process. I,myself in my day, worked out EVERY single day for 3 years straight for 2-3 hours a day.Yes.. I did it. I know that wasn't the right thing to do now,25 years later.. It worked for me. I know now I could been on another level had I really understood the whole process.. Who knows what would have happened. I could have probably got big time and been on Seth's level. Anyway.. I really listened to this video.. Straight knowledge here in this video
Really enjoy your work Seth. Its good to see the raw truth. A lot dance around it the topics you mention. Glad to be a follower and will support you till the end. Keep it up!
Another amazing video amazing advice again I have been following you for some time now I’m currently in the military, but leaving soon to follow my dreams become a bodybuilder and this advice is so true people plan plan plan continue the videos Seth amazing advice Peace out 💪🏼😊
I am a hard hitter , its very hard for me to periodice my training, i tend to go to failure in every session, eventhough i promise myself to slow down. How does this overtraining show out, my CNS is challenged , its hard for my CNS to shut down when i try to fall asleep (falling feeling 7-8-9 times in a row when trying to fall asleep) , i have night fever, my strength decrease and my cortisol level increase, lately i even tried to have shutdown symptoms , like gyno, how did this happen ? Laxogenine works crazy fine on me, probally has like anavar effect strength and recovery vice, the downfall of this increased strength and recovery was that i didnt see the overtraining symptoms arise, took me one month to bounce back, i really need to be a more clever lifter from now on. This video really made me reflect 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love Seth’s personality. It’s so magnetic.

This guy is very educated and inspiring on what he is talking about. Great motivation before pumping some weights and shoving down some calories

Ur a true man of intensity. Thanks seth
I wish he had more t shirts made. I want the one he's wearing here and the "lift weights, eat steaks." Coach Feroce, make more please!
