    Dont worry about room acoustics just turn down your speakers a sit closer and make sure the tweeters are ear level. if you cant hear the low end get a sealed subwoofer or any popular bass heavy headphones like skullcandy or jbl.
    AND STOP TRYING TO MIX IN ROOMS WITH HARDWOOD FLOORS!

    Amazing review 🙌🏻🙌🏻
    For the mix & master of bass house songs, which of these or the Focal Alpha twin do you recommend I buy as the main monitor? I'm really undecided!

    I've got the original MTM set and loved them, the lower bass response would be handy, and I hope they've fixed the 50Hz hum for Europeans this time around. I do think I'd sooner upgrade to the Precisions than the MKII though - the new features are cool but not enough to make me want to upgrade.

      Kai, if you’re interested in the precisions, I would 100% check them out. They have such a great low end response and they take everything the smaller monitors do and just ramp it up. I’ve been using the precision 6s for a few months and I love them. Easily best upgrade I’ve made in a long time.

    This is the way, my friend. These monitors seem quite good!

      Well hopefully they add the stuff into x monitor, and then I won’t complain about it lol. Yeah these are one thing I have zero hesitation suggesting when people are looking in their price range. They made a big difference for me personally.

    Hi Taylor, another great video!
    Playing with a 7 string in drop A, do you think the mtm mkii will be able to deliver at medium volume? (I use Gojira plugin and also quad cortex)

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  3 месяца назад

      Thanks dude!
      They are very loud speakers. I’m not sure what your bar is for delivery, like they’re not going to keep up with a band, but they are surprisingly loud for how big they are. I only ever red lined them (they have a clipping light) when I was trying to see how loud they went, or listening at extreme volumes while in another room.

      @bertssuggests 3 месяца назад

      @@TaylorDanley I don’t want to play too loud, and I don’t play with a band. I want small speaker but able to handle 7 string guitar in drop A (or B standard).

    Are headphones not enough? Or are there problems with the recording? I personally use an audio interface instead of a lot of microphones, so I don't worry about that.

    Man, we used to always get fooled by final mixing our shit on the KRKs. We'd do it, sounded great.. then we would listen to it elsewhere and it sounded like wide open ass. The KRKs(or any other good studio monitor) makes a wet fart sound grandiose. I started using the Vintage Yamaha powered Multimedia Speakers YST-MS201 monitors. My mixes were much more consistent and level across the board. Just my career home studio take(were talking back to bouncing tracks on a Tascam 4 track days here, guys...lol). Obviously, not everyone will have some sonically perfect monitors to listen on..

      Haha, I remember going to GC monitor shopping and the guy telling me “don’t be fooled by the exaggerated low end, you want a monitor that sounds flat”. I actually bought my first mackies because they were the least impressive out of all the monitors I shot out, which I assumed meant they were better for mixing.

    Maybe we shouldn't use studio monitors for mixing at all and just use retail hifi speakers and phone headphones!

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  4 месяца назад

      No thanks. To each their own, but I don’t like wearing headphones for long periods of time. I’ve tried mixing on AirPods which was a cool experience, but I just prefer the monitors

      @@TaylorDanley Reminds me of photography. We'd spend thousands on expensive cameras and lenses. Zoom in on pixels in editing software to only then upload to Instagram where the resolution is about as a big as a postage stamp and noone can see any of the detail anyway.

    Are the Precision 6 a lot better than the mkII?

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  4 месяца назад +1

      I noticed a big difference, but it’s really hard to equate how much better that is. The control in for the little control module is a big deal for me, some may not care… they have noticeably more headroom also, but again, that might not matter to most people since they are more than loud enough for mixing and even listening at high volumes
